Today , I would like to introduce nine hidden attractions located in every nook and cranny of the alleyways in downtown Seoul. The attractions we will be exploring today are hidden attractions that even native Seoulites are not familiar with, to the point where you might wonder if this is really Seoul.
All of these attractions are accessible on foot. It’s a great place to enjoy a comfortable walking trip as soon as you get off the subway station, as it’s all located 10 minutes away . Today’s walking trip, which is already happening,
Begins at Noksapyeong Station Exit 2. If you get out of the exit and walk for about 5 minutes, you’ll reach the first hidden spot of the day. There is an alley where you can go to the famous spot. This is the Haebangchon alley, where the faint alley scenery and fresh emotions coexist.
This is a part of the Joseon Shrine during the Japanese colonial period and was used as a shooting range by the 24th division of the Japanese army. With liberation in 1945, It is said that it was named Haebangchon because it was formed. Then, let’s walk down the alley that has vague memories. Let’s go. If you go straight along Mokgi, you will come to Haebangchon Street, which is a big street. From here, take the second alley in front of the bakery. If you go in, [music]. As you go down,
You will see numerous long stairs stretching down. There is also a strange-looking elevator next to it. This is the 108 stairs in Huam-dong, a staircase with a painful history during the Japanese colonial period. It is a luxury housing complex where they settled.
It is said to have been one of the three major residential areas of Gyeongseong for the Japanese because it was close to downtown Gyeongseong and allowed them to build south-facing houses in the Namsan landscape. At that time , the Gyeongseong Patriotic Shrine to commemorate the war dead was built here, and
The entrance road was built to enter it. This is the Huam-dong staircase. Then, let’s take this Shinhan elevator and go down. It was faster than I expected, so I was able to come down to the first floor in 1 minute. Then, let’s continue along the alley and head to the next hidden destination.
Let’s go deeper into the alley and have fun. A mural has appeared. There are many more interesting murals painted in the highlands. This is Hongcheol Bookstore, a bakery run by Nocheol Noh, an original member of Infinite Challenge.
As you can see from the name of the bakery, here is an interesting bakery with Nocheol’s face as the design. You can take a look at the interior. Then, let’s go inside the bakery . [Music] I simply ordered coffee and bread, and the inside of the bakery
Is decorated in a very fun way. Let’s take a look [Music] Let’s take a look. Celebrity Cheol looks like a very playful wife, but she is 25 years old. He is also a great businessman, surpassing the annual salary of his father, who was the manager of Samsung Electronics at the time.
Just looking at him seems to overflow with positive energy. Now, let’s finish the sightseeing and head to the next place. I continued walking down the alley, and now I’m starting to get hungry. Across from Hoam-dong, there is a hidden restaurant where you can eat
Until your stomach explodes for just 6,000 won in this era of high prices. Let’s go there. We arrived at Seoul Station after walking for about 10 minutes from Hongcheol Bookstore . It is a very familiar place to us, but there are people here.
There is a hidden, cost-effective restaurant that many people are not aware of. If you take the escalator in front of you from the waiting room and go up, you will see a passage that leads to the conference room . From here, take the elevator up to the 4th floor. If
You go into the conference room from the 4th floor, you will find a hidden restaurant. That place is a restaurant inside Seoul Station. The video was filmed on Sunday, but you can have lunch on Sunday as well. You can eat a lot of side dishes for just 6,000 won.
Thanks to this, I was able to get a meal very cheaply. Then, I was satisfied with my stomach. So, let’s go to the hidden attractions in Seoul next. If you come out toward Seoul Station Square and walk straight ahead,
There is a huge bridge that forms an intersection. Here, you can take the elevator to the top. As you go up, you will see large and small sculptures and magnificent buildings around Seoul Station. I started coming in. This is Seoullo 707, a promenade created by renovating
The overpass of the old old Seoul Station. It’s so amazing that there is a promenade like this in the middle of the huge Seoul Station. As you go down along this promenade, you will see a hidden attraction around Seoul Station. Let’s
Take a look. As you follow the road, you come across an old parking lot entrance road. You can go down here. This is Docking Seoul, an exhibition space created using an abandoned parking space at the old Seoul Station. Docking Seoul is a division of Hanahwa Construction, an affiliate
Of Hanahwa Group. This is a space that was created. So, let’s take a look around this place. It’s amazing that there is a hidden art space like this in Seoul Station, which used to be complicated. When you leave Knocking Seoul, you will see the Seoul Station Rooftop Garden.
Inside the rooftop garden, there is an eco-friendly household goods store called Almaeng Store. Here, they sell products made using 100% eco-friendly materials, not plastic . In addition to eco-friendly products, they also sell products where you put your own shampoo in a container you brought from home and purchase it by the weight.
Also, you can buy plastic bottle caps or white milk cartons from home. If you bring the same trash, we will make it into a new recyclable product. The representative recyclable product is the toilet paper in the bathroom at Seoul Station. This toilet paper is made from the milk carton that we saw
At Almaeng Store earlier. As you walk, there is a small cylindrical space on the side. Let’s go in. This is Seoullo 7017. This is a small cafe located at Hydrangea Observatory Cafe. This cafe is completely open, so
You can drink coffee while watching the cars passing by on the main street of Seoul Station. The openness is really nice. [Music] Now that we’ve had enough rest, let’s head to the next place along the promenade opposite Seoul Station. If you go straight in the direction, you will reach the end of Seoullo
707. If you turn to the left corner, you can go to the next attraction and enter the Grand Central Building in front of you. If you take the escalator up to the 3rd floor of the building, you will see an exhibition hall known to Ground Seesaw Central.
Photographer Lee Kyung-i’s photo exhibition will be held until September. The admission fee is 15,000 won, which is a bit expensive, but it is not a waste of money because you can enjoy such a unique exhibition in the middle of Seoul , which is crowded with corporate buildings. Vivid photographic works are on display
In downtown New York . Let’s take a look at [Music] . At the end of the exhibition hall, there was experiential content where you can make your own wish. In that sense, I would like to ask you to subscribe and set up a like notification. Let’s go to a hidden attraction.
If you leave the exhibition hall and go across the street into the alley, you will come to Yeomcheongyo Bridge intersection. Go down to the side where the bridge is crossed. As you follow this, you start to see old-fashioned red bricks that you had not seen before.
Follow the bricks to the basement. There is a way down. Let’s go down . This is the Seosomun Holy Site History Museum, located a 10-minute walk from Seoul Station. There is a significant sculpture from the entrance of the museum. Let’s go right inside . As you go down the road
, a strange space that makes you think it might be a museum slowly appears. This is the Consolation Hall, where large and small events and media art shows are held. The atmosphere is truly dreamy, but there is something even more fascinating here. When you turn around and
Look outside, it is so amazing that you cannot understand that a place like this exists in the middle of Seoul. There is a place. This is Sky Plaza , the representative space of the Seosomun Holy Site History Museum.
In fact, the place where you are now is a space that was used as the official execution site of the state during the Joseon Dynasty. Since the founding of the Korean Catholic Church in the fall of 1784, this place has been a Neo-Confucian society. It is said that Catholics
Who were recognized as a threat to order were brutally executed. That is why this place is said to be one of the holy sites approved by the Vatican as the first international pilgrimage site in Asia. The human-shaped railroad ties displayed next to it are
Used as an excuse for religion. It is a work of art called People Standing in the shape of the 44 people who were all executed. I think there is a lot of similarity between the sleepers that were trampled by heavy trains hundreds and thousands of
Times and the martyrs who did not lose their faith despite endless persecution . There is another exhibition next to Sky Square. There is a space, and it is right next to the skyway. Similar to the Consolation Hall that I visited a little while ago, there is a colorful media art show going on.
If you go further inside, there is a sculpture that symbolizes the human spine, and above that you can see the sky. There is a path . It ‘s so amazing to see such a hidden space in the middle of Seoul. Now, let’s head to the next exhibition room.
As we entered, various historical materials displayed under white lights began to come into view. This is a permanent exhibition hall, and this is the Joseon Dynasty. The flow of later ideological history and the history of the Seosomun area are on display. My heart sinks
When I remember that the Sky Park I just visited was the official site of the country in the past. Now, let’s finish the tour and move on to the next attraction. The museum If you leave and walk a little forward,
You will come across a small staircase that allows you to go up the hill. You can go up here. There are many churches around the area that exude a Catholic feel. Located a 3-minute walk from Seosomun Historical Park, this is Yakhyeon
Cathedral in Jungnim-dong. This is the first time that I realized that there was an old cathedral in the middle of Seoul other than Myeongdong Cathedral. Let’s go inside. I feel like my mind is being purified just by entering the cathedral. Now, after looking around, let’s move on to the next place.
Exit the cathedral and walk 5 minutes. If you walk for about a minute, you will come to Seosomun Crossing, which is the intersection of Seoul Station’s railway and road . At Seosomun Crossing, you can see the subway and train of the Gyeongseon Line passing
Right in front of you. When it is time for the car to pass, the bar comes down and the train comes right in. Not only the subway, but also Seoul Station It’s fun because you can see various trains passing by.
It ‘s really nice because it feels like you’re looking at the train tracks of a rural village rather than Seoul. If you pass the Seosomun crossing and walk forward, you can go to the last hidden attraction in Seoul for the day.
Let’s take a look. If you follow it, you will come to Seodaemun Station. Just walk straight towards Exit 5 of Seodaemun Station. After walking for about 5 minutes from Seodaemun Station, you will arrive at Donimun Museum Village. Moonimun Museum Village is a historical place where you can personally experience the
100-year story of Seoul. It is a cultural space , and like the Seosomun Holy Site History Museum, admission is free . There are various contents here that allow you to experience the history of the gate, but the most popular
Content is the cultural life of the 70s and 90s. This is a restored exhibition hall. Now, let’s take a look at the exhibition halls with a retro feel. [Music] Today’s trip comes to an end with this Doi-eun Museum Village. It’s been a walking trip so far. Next up is a travel
Video . We’ll see you later . [Music] Thank you for watching .

서울역 그렇게 많이가도 이런 정보 몰랐는데 ㅠㅠ 30년이 지나고 나서야 알았네요;;
