2024 Edition 9 Inns I’d Like to Visit Again (Hot Spring/Breakfast/Dinner) Hello! This is Hozuki. This time, from the 31 inns we visited in 2023, we would like to introduce the ones that we particularly wanted to visit again, categorized into “hot springs,” “breakfast,” and “dinner.”

Thank you very much for your continued support! Third choice in the hot spring category: Gero Onsen, Gifu Prefecture

First up is Suimeikan, which is famous for Gero Onsen in Gifu Prefecture! Gero City, Gifu Prefecture, where Suimeikan is located, is approximately 4 hours by car from Osaka. By train, JR Gero Station is the closest station, and it’s only a 3-minute walk from there, making it very accessible!

Suimeikan is one of the best inns in Japan, and was ranked 2nd overall in the “100 Japanese Hotels and Inns Selected by Professionals”! This is a long-established inn that was founded in 1930, and it was very nice! Suimeikan has 4 buildings: Sansuikaku, Hisenkaku, Rinsenkaku, and Seiranso, and it is very spacious, and

There are hot springs in 3 locations! First, let me introduce you to Sansuikaku’s open-air bath! Natural hot springs of course! 55 degrees, 2300 liters of hot water per minute! The open-air bath has become “Ryujin no Yu”, and Suimeikan’s open-air bath is surrounded by huge rocks and greenery, and is full of elegance!

The moment you step in, you’ll notice the wonderfully creamy hot water! It has a smooth texture and a slight sulfur scent. It’s so comfortable that you can stay in it forever, it feels like your body is melting! Next, go to Hisenkaku’s hot springs and the large public bath with a view!

The large observation bath is located on the 9th floor of Hisenkaku! It’s bright and spacious, and you can see the cityscape of Gero Onsen and the mountains of Hida from the windows on one side!

Of course, the quality of the spring water is the best, and you can enter here 24 hours a day! Finally, go to the hot springs at Rinsenkaku, which is exclusively for guests! Shimotome no Yu “Yama no Yu” is the largest bath at Suimeikan, and it

Is made of cypress and has a wonderful scent! Ceiling, walls, pillars, all made of cypress! The wood-scented bathhouse has a high-temperature bath, a low-temperature bath, a cypress bath, and even a sauna, and the view is spectacular!

It is the largest of the three baths and is reserved for guests only, so you can bathe in it quite comfortably and relax! There is also a private bath that can be enjoyed for 3,300 yen per hour, so it seems like a good place to relax and enjoy with your family!

There is also a bedrock bath (3300 yen for 1 hour)! As expected, it was the second best inn in the country! Misasa Onsen in Tottori Prefecture Our second choice is Izanrou Iwasaki in Misasa Onsen in Tottori Prefecture! Misasa Town in Tottori Prefecture, where Izanrou Iwasaki is located,

Is about a three-and-a-half hour drive from Osaka. By train, JR Kurayoshi Station is the closest station, and there is a free shuttle bus from there! (Reservation required) The Japanese garden inside the hotel was wonderful, and the dinner was plentiful! Misasa Onsen is the world’s largest radium hot spring.

The stroll-style large garden open-air bath “Yama no Yu” has two baths, one on the right and one on the left.Let’s start with the one on the right, which has a rock bath and more! “Right Bath” is a relaxing Showa-era retro bath.

Rakuzan no Yu, with its sukiya style ceiling and huge stone bathtub, is a sight to behold! Misasa Onsen is a hot spring that boasts a high concentration of radon, and is full of good things such as improving metabolism and increasing immunity!

The “Jinja no Yu” located in the center of the hot springs on the right has a great sense of openness! There is also a “Rakusui no Yu” with free flowing water from the source, and a mist sauna with radium hot springs, making it the ultimate healing space!

We also have a private bath available for a whopping 1,000 yen for 45 minutes! It’s a very large bath with an open-air bath, and it looks like it’d be nice to take a bath here!

Next, we will introduce “Hidanoyu”, which has a large bath made of cypress wood! (Switched in the morning and evening) The “Left Bath” has various types of baths, including a foot bath, lying bath, steam bath, and walking bath!

“Aisu no Yu” has a walking bath and a sleeping bath, and it even has a water wheel, which is really cool! You can relax and soothe yourself in the lying-down bath, or you can stay healthy by walking in the walking bath!

The “Nageiredo Cave Bath” at the top has a very nice atmosphere, and you can enjoy the bath while looking out at the garden bath! The hallway leading to the input cave bath is a footbath, and we were able to enjoy various types of baths!

It was a wonderful inn where you could even see fireflies depending on the time of year! Wakayama Prefecture’s Nanki-Katsuura Onsen The third choice is “Yukai Resort Premium Koshinoyu” in Nanki-Katsuura Onsen, Wakayama Prefecture! Koshinoyu is located in Nachikatsuura Town in Wakayama Prefecture,

About a little over three and a half hours by car from Osaka. By train, the nearest station is JR Kii-Katsuura Station, and there is a free shuttle bus from there! (Advance reservation) An inn with a wonderful Japanese garden and ocean view, and delicious food such as tuna sashimi and sushi!

We are proud of our hot springs, “Mizan no Yu” and “Shiosai no Yu”! Koshinoyu’s hot springs have an abundant amount of hot water and are fed directly from the source! A natural hot spring with a rich sulfur aroma! The garden open-air bath is open and very comfortable to bathe in!

The quality of the spring water is sodium chloride, and it contains a little sulfur, so the water is gentle on the skin and has the feel of a hot spring. You can see the ocean from Shiosai no Yu, and it was a very pleasant bath where you can fully enjoy Nanki Katsuura!

In the morning, the private bath (Nami no Yu) in the Nami building is open for free! It also comes straight from the source! The open-air bath faces the sea, so you can wake up feeling refreshed while looking out at the sea!

Hot springs bathed in the morning sun are the best! This hot spring was also very pleasant! It was an inn with a wonderful hot spring and delicious food! The 3rd choice in the breakfast category : Hakodate City, Hokkaido The 1st choice is Hakodate Kokusai Hotel in Hakodate City, Hokkaido!

Hakodate Station, where Hakodate Kokusai Hotel is located, takes about 30 minutes from the airport, and the hotel is an 8-minute walk from the station! Hakodate Kokusai Hotel also has a natural hot spring, and it is an inn with a very beautiful night view!

The breakfast venue is large enough to give you a map, and you can enjoy all-you-can-eat sashimi such as salmon and squid, typical of Hakodate, Hokkaido, as well as sweet shrimp and large salmon roe! You can also enjoy a lot of Hokkaido yellowtail hotpot and wine in the morning! Whoosh!

We will grill our famous steak in our live kitchen! Breakfast rich in seafood and meat! Eating while drinking wine in the morning is the best! The freshly grilled and juicy steak is delicious, and the large salmon roe seafood bowl is super delicious! Hakodate’s new specialty yellowtail soup is delicious, and

They also have medicinal soup curry and authentic mapo tofu, all of which are very filling! The milk pudding for dessert is also exceptional! The breakfast at Hakodate Kokusai Hotel was so delicious that I wanted to eat it again! Our second choice in Hakodate, Hokkaido is JR Inn Hakodate, an inn in Hakodate!

As the name suggests, JR Inn Hakodate is a hotel directly connected to JR Hakodate Station! A wonderful inn with a beautiful night view and exhibits related to trains! There is also a large public bath with a train view, which is very satisfying! Breakfast is at Marukatsu Suisan on the 1st floor!

And our signature spinning sushi! Amazing from the morning! All-you-can-eat sushi starting in the morning! It’s like a dream! Enjoy as much sushi as you like depending on your appetite! Hakodate is famous for its true squid and salmon! There are many other seafood-filled dishes, and

It would be great to make a seafood bowl with fresh sashimi! I was surprised at how luxurious it was, I couldn’t believe it was breakfast! The sushi is fresh and really delicious! The best sushi you can eat endlessly! Grilled scallops and fish robatayaki were also available, and

The robatayaki and salmon roe oyakodon were also great! JR Inn Hakodate was also a very delicious inn! Our third choice for Shirahama Onsen in Wakayama Prefecture is “SHIRAHAMA KEY TERRACE Hotel Seymour” in Wakayama Prefecture! Shirahama Town in Wakayama Prefecture, where Hotel Seymour is located,

Is about a little over two hours by car from Osaka. By train, JR Shirahama Station is the closest station, and there is a free shuttle bus from there! (First come first served) This is an inn with a very nice view, and the infinity footbath is a must-see!

This is a fun inn with a full playroom! Our signature breakfast is by the ocean on the 1st floor! Enjoy your meal with a beautiful ocean view! They have a wide selection of fresh salads, and the freshly fried eggs made in the live kitchen are also wonderful.

You can also try out shabu-shabu made with Hirome (seaweed), a Wakayama ingredient, and umeboshi (pickled plums), which is unique to Wakayama! There aren’t many rare items, but each item is made with great care! What do you think about this balanced breakfast? The famous Hirome shabu-shabu is exquisite!

And the taste of Wakayama’s umeboshi is outstanding! I was able to eat plum soba noodles made with local plums in the morning, and it had a refreshing aftertaste that gave me energy in the morning! We also have plum juice, so you can enjoy plum juice!

And not only Japanese food but also Western food! The various types of bread are very delicious and I also recommend them! The buffet was so delicious that I had to order a second helping outside of the video! The scenery is also very nice, so be sure to visit!

3rd choice in the dinner category The 1st choice in the Miyagi prefecture dinner category is Hotel Matsushima Taikanso! Matsushima in Miyagi Prefecture, where Hotel Matsushima Taikanso is located, is about 40 minutes from Sendai and about an hour and a half from Sendai Airport.

And there is a free shuttle bus to Taikanso from Matsushima Station/Matsushima Kaigan Station! (No reservations required as it is a tour bus) Some rooms have views of Matsushima, one of Japan’s three most scenic views! This is a wonderful inn where you can enjoy the best scenery!

Dinner is all-you-can-eat seafood at Isana on the 1st floor! (Japanese, Western, and Chinese plans are also available) Starting with fresh sushi made by artisans, the famous parsley tempura, and fried oysters from Matsushima! Freshly steamed Matsushima oysters too! (I was so excited lol) Salt-grilled burikama, scallops, and tuna chin!

We also have Western-style ajillo, and it’s already a seafood paradise! And the amazing hot pot! There are several other types of hotpots , including oyster and monkfish hotpots, and seri hotpots! The sashimi corner is full of seasonal sashimi! And compare the tastes of coastal tuna! Too amazing!

I took as many of my favorite foods as I could and this is what I got…lol Seafood is pouring in! Of course, each item was fresh, and no matter what I ate, it was delicious… and the oysters were absolutely delicious! In particular, the fried oysters are delicious and a must-try!

If you love seafood, this is the inn you should definitely visit! The scenery was wonderful, and it was an inn that I would definitely like to visit again! Next up from Jozankei Onsen in Hokkaido is Jozankei Tsuruga Resort Spa Mori no Uta!

Jozankei Onsen, where Jozankei Tsuruga Resort Spa Mori no Uta is located, is conveniently accessible, taking about 30 minutes by free shuttle bus from Makomanai Station! The elegant lobby welcomes you with a water curtain, and our signature hot spring, Mori SPA, is also wonderful! At Usagi-san’s cute forest buffet,

You will be greeted with a lovely small bowl of hors d’oeuvre. The hors d’oeuvres include both meat and seafood, and each dish is truly delicious and beautifully presented! Of course, there is a wide selection of Western food, and

There are many small bowls, so you will be stuck trying to find what you want to eat! (Sorry for the poor presentation) The taste of the appetizers is delicious and will whet your appetite! The deliciousness of Western food is also outstanding! Good taste. Of course, Hokkaido also has plenty of seafood!

The steak was also quite delicious! And grilled vegetables from Hokkaido and Hokkaido’s famous Genghis Khan will be freshly prepared right at your seat! It’s a buffet with so much to eat! And a wonderful pizza where you can choose your favorite ingredients and dough!

And your partner will be happy with the wide variety of sweets! No matter which one you choose, it’s sure to be a delicious sweet! It was a wonderful buffet that you could enjoy until the very end! There is also a cute Shimaenaga-san, so please check it out!

Our third choice for Yunokawa Onsen in Hokkaido is the Sea and Light Hewitt Resort! Umi to Akari is ranked No. 1 in the Hokkaido area in Rakuten Travel’s TOP47 Japanese Accommodations 2022! Yunokawa Onsen in Hakodate, where the sea and lights are located, is in the best location, just 5 minutes from the airport!

This is an inn with a nice lobby and a welcome dumpling! The panoramic view of Hakodate city is wonderful, and the infinity bath “Amamiyu” is also very nice! Enjoy your signature dinner at Tsukishu, and enjoy a seafood feast that will leave you wanting more!

A seafood bowl where you can pile up whatever you like! You’ll never stop choosing your ingredients! I’ll add more and more of my favorite things, and at the end I’ll finish it off with overflowing salmon roe! Of course, there is plenty of meat too!

Furthermore, we also have a great selection of grilled seafood such as abalone, squid, and scallops! You can eat heaps of fresh seafood from Hokkaido! The hamburgers and fried foods are also great! And when you think of Hokkaido, you think of crab! Of course all you can eat! What is surprising is the variety!

The largest variety in Hokkaido was amazing, and each dish was delicious! I want to eat everything, but I’m too full! Of course, there were many types of desserts, and it was a buffet that you could enjoy till the end! I was very satisfied with the Hakodate ramen for dinner!

What’s more, it was a delicious inn with plenty of breakfast! What did you think of the accommodations you visited in 2023 that you would like to visit again? Of course, there were other accommodations other than the ones I introduced, but I would like to introduce one that particularly left an impression on me!

After all, what we want to enjoy when traveling is hot springs and food! The inns I introduced are the ones I would like to visit again due to these points! There are still many areas and accommodations that I would like to visit! I’m thinking about which region I should visit this year!
