I came to Rinku Town Station, which is the closest station to Kansai International Airport. Park my car at a nearby parking lot and head to Kansai Airport. This is the Sky Gate Bridge that I passed by on the train earlier. Izumisano City also looks beautiful. A 2-hour journey to Okinawa begins. It rose rapidly and entered the clouds. When I step out above the clouds, a beautiful blue sky was spreading out. Is that Kobe Airport visible across the sea?
As far as the eye can see, it’s full of clouds. The weather looks bad in Shikoku on this day. 30 minutes after takeoff, we arrived at Sukumo in the southwest of Shikoku. It’s a unique terrain. You can see Mt. Kaimondake in Ibusuki, Kagoshima. It’s been about an hour and I’m almost halfway there.
The sea and clouds will continue for a while, so we will take a short break. The island came into view after 40 minutes from Kagoshima. Iheya Island is located in the north of Okinawa. Finally, the main island of Okinawa came into view. It is near Uruma in central Okinawa.
The airfield on the right side of the screen is Futenma Air Base. Okinawa International University, where a helicopter crashed in 2004, is near the left end of the runway. The sea illuminated by the setting sun is beautiful. Going clockwise around the south side of Okinawa’s main island, heading towards Naha Airport.
The place with the white tower in the center of the screen is Peace Memorial Park. The Peace Memorial Museum in the park has been renovated and is now very beautiful, so I highly recommend you go there.
This is around Cape Kyan, southwest of the main island, which was the site of a fierce battle when during WW2. In contrast, the color of the sea is very beautiful. Chura SUN Beach has a unique shape. Today I have plan to stay at a hotel near this beach. Now it’s time to land.

2024年の元旦から沖縄へ5泊6日で行ってきました。
元旦以降はフライトの金額がグッと下がるので、年末年始に沖縄へ行くには元旦以降が非常におすすめです。
沖縄は真冬でも最低気温が１５度くらいまでしか下がらず、長袖があれば十分です。
フライト自体は関西国際空港から2時間弱ですので、非常にいきやすいと思います。
那覇空港からは、ゆいレール(モノレール)で那覇市の中心街へ行くことができますし、
ゆいレール沿線には沢山ホテルや繁華街がありますので、手軽に行くことができると思います。
