倉敷美観地区を散策!古き良き日本を感じる歩き旅【岡山県、4K動画】

This time, we will stroll through the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Area in Okayama Prefecture. We are in front of the ticket gate of Kurashiki station. It is a holiday and the place is crowded with many people. Kurashiki Station is served by the Sanyo Main Line and Hakubi Line.

To take the Shinkansen, go to Shinkurashiki or Okayama station. We walk toward our destination, Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. There is also information about the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter inside the station. We came out to the station square. Tenmaya (Department store) and APA Hotel are located on this side of the square.

The exterior of Kurashiki Station looks like this. Walk towards the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. There are signs everywhere indicating where to go, so it is easy to know which direction to head. It was a five-minute walk from Kurashiki Station. We arrived at the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. There are tasteful buildings all around.

We will walk through the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter as soon as possible. There is a curry bread store with a delicious smell. Buy one curry bread and try it. The sweet curry and cheese flavors mix together very well. After a short walk, the river came into view.

There is also a retro building (cafe) covered in green vines. There were carp in the river. The atmosphere is as if you have stepped back in time. In 1642, Kurashiki was designated as the domain of the Edo shogunate. After that, it has a history of developing as a distribution center for goods.

The Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter preserves the cityscape from those times. You can also take a riverboat ride and enjoy the city at a leisurely pace. Since the Kojima district of Kurashiki is the birthplace of Japanese jeans, there are many stores selling denim products.

Here you will also find many denim products and denim-inspired blue-colored snacks. Various types of jeans, jackets, bags, etc. are sold. Next came Koeido, which sells sweets such as kibidango. Many kinds of souvenir pastries are sold in the store. Buy a Japanese snack called murasuzume and eat it outside the store.

The top is the green tea flavor and the bottom is the plain flavor. I will try it as soon as possible. The flavor of matcha mixed with the sweetness of the bean paste is delicious. Next, let’s try the millet dango, which is famous from the Japanese fairy tale “Momotaro.”

The filling is wrapped in mochi and the outside is sprinkled with soybean flour. It’s chewy and delicious. The trees and the cityscape reflected in the water are beautiful. I find a curry shop that looks delicious, so I go in. There is a curry shop in a tasteful building.

You can choose from many types of curry such as beef curry, vegetable curry, and pork cutlet curry. Onion soup is served before the curry is served. The soup is very tasty, with onion flavor and sweetness. This time I ordered the Keema Curry. It is also topped with vegetables and looks gorgeous.

It is spiced and very tasty. We finished eating in no time. Jam and other souvenirs are available in the store. In the afternoon, the number of tourists began to increase. Walk down a small alley off the riverside path. It is a beautiful city. We arrived at a facility called Kurashiki Ivy Square.

This is a tourist complex including a hotel and cultural facilities that preserves as much as possible of the appearance of the Kurashiki Spinning Factory in the Meiji era. There are kitchen cars and benches in the courtyard. The pond in the courtyard is full of carp.

We will walk through the streets of the Bikan Historical Quarter again. General stores, souvenir shops, and restaurants line the streets. Walking around we can feel the atmosphere of the Edo period. The Inoue family residence was extensively renovated in 1721, laying the foundation for the house that remains today.

A short walk away was a small pond with goldfish. I found a store that sells smoked meat. There is a very nice smell in front of the restaurant. The restaurant also sells smoked meat skewers, onigiri (rice balls), and smoked meat to go. Try the smoked bacon skewers.

The nice smoky aroma mixed with the bacon flavor is extremely tasty. It was so good that I bought some smoked bacon to take home. Return to Kurashiki Station via the Ebisu Street shopping street. It is raining, but there is a roof over the top to keep you dry. We arrived at Kurashiki Station.

Thank you for watching the video to the end. I would appreciate it if you could subscribe to the channel.
