【銀山温泉/山形】憧れの雪の温泉街。老舗旅館の大正ロマン客室に宿泊！

We are a couple traveling all over Japan. This time we will visit Ginzan Onsen in Yamagata Prefecture. General vehicles are not allowed to enter Ginzan Onsen Town. Use the free shuttle bus from the parking lot. It’s heavy rain. But there is snow on the ground. “Kosekiya” Hello.

The current location is Ginzan Onsen in Yamagata Prefecture. We visited here while traveling around Japan, but we decided to visit again. As you can see, we are already inside the inn. We checked in. I changed into a yukata. After changing my clothes, I started shooting the opening movie.

Speaking of Ginzan Onsen, it’s the snowy landscape in winter. So we visited again in winter. It’s late January. I came here because I wanted to see the snowy scenery. But for some reason it’s raining. LOL This year’s winter has been mild, and even though it’s late January, it’s raining instead of snowing.

Not what I expected! LOL But at Ginzan Onsen, you can also enjoy the hot springs and the inn itself. It may be a little difficult to walk around, but I will enjoy the inside of the inn. When we visited during my trip around Japan, we stayed at “Notoya Ryokan”.

I would say this is the most symbolic of Ginzan Onsen. We stayed at this very famous inn. This time we will be staying at “Kosekiya”. Kosekiya has a main building and an annex. We are staying in the main building. There is a reason why I chose this inn.

It has been newly registered as a nationally registered tangible cultural property. So I wanted to stay in this building. It was newly registered in August 2023. Until then, Notoya Ryokan was the only one in Ginzan Onsen that was registered as a cultural property.

The main building of Kosekiya was also registered as a cultural property. The last time we visited Ginzan Onsen was in the fall of 2021. This building was under renovation at the time. So I couldn’t see the exterior of the building. This inn has been reopened in July 2022.

It is located in front of Notoya Ryokan. You can see Notoya Ryokan from the window of the room facing the river. I couldn’t reserve a room on the river side, so this time I’ll stay in a room on the mountain side. So the view from the room is not good.

Ginzan Onsen is very popular in winter. It’s very difficult to make a reservation. I was able to reserve this mountain side room on the waiting list. Unfortunately, there were no rooms available facing the river. Well, I will enjoy my long-awaited visit to Ginzan Onsen in winter.

Now I would like to take a room tour. This time we are staying in a room on the 2nd floor. The room key is a QR code like this. It’s modern. Just scan this QR code. The lock is now released. This room is a fusion of modernity and the Taisho era.

This time we are staying in a mountain side Taisho modern room. This is the main room. Here is the main room. Like this. The atmosphere feels like a fusion of Japanese and Western styles. Amazing. It is mainly Western style. This is a newly renovated room. This is like the living room.

There are retro chairs. The room is not that large. This is the bedroom. It’s so nice. There are windows in the room. The view is not good because it is on the mountain side. I can see the building. The river is on this side. There is a river on the other side.

The room looks like this. The renovation work was carried out by reusing old materials as much as possible. The atmosphere of the past is still preserved. This black phone is also very old. This is the first time I’ve seen a black phone like this. Dial type.

A picture of a flower is painted on the wall next to the door. There is a washroom on this side. There’s a toilet behind this. It’s a new atmosphere here. The toilet is also new. New and clean. Amenity goods seem to be different for men and women.

The color of the yukata was yellow for women and green for men. Cute design. Illustrations such as Okame and beckoning cats are drawn. Hair brush, toothbrush, cotton set, skin care set. There seem to be different types of skin care sets for men and women.

Well, let’s take a look around the inside of the inn. We haven’t seen it all yet. There are 2 stairs. This staircase is old. This staircase has been used since the Taisho era. I used a different staircase earlier. There are also new stairs. This inn is a fusion of modern and Taisho era.

There are only 14 guest rooms available. This is the new staircase. There are also seats with a view of the river. Good. What? Is it open? It’s cold. Wow! Amazing. I can see it from here. The front is Notoya Ryokan. The person in the room opposite can be seen completely. LOL

The river is muddy. LOL It’s a muddy stream. There is snow on the roof. It’s raining a lot. However, the red bridge is covered with snow. It’s wonderful that even in mountain-side rooms, there are seats with a view of the river. We can see the entire hot spring town without going outside.

It was good. It’s a luxurious chair. Rocking chair. Huge. We can see Notoya. That’s amazing. It’s nice to relax here while looking at the scenery. It would be better if it wasn’t raining. Let’s try the old staircase. I’ll go to the first floor. There is also an elevator.

This is a staircase that has been used since the Taisho era. It’s old and scary. There is a slight creaking sound. There is a lounge at the bottom of the stairs. This is the entrance. It’s so stylish here too. Very stylish. Is beautiful. This is also the breakfast venue.

The reception was also here. It’s fashionable. Space next to the entrance. All drinks here are all-you-can-drink. Free drinks. All you can drink during your stay. Awesome. There’s also alcohol. All you can drink including juice. Japanese sake, wine, beer. All you can drink! Coffee and tea are also free. All of this is all-you-can-drink.

There is a large public bath next to it. Since I received permission, I will record a video. Since no one is there, let’s take a look at the public bath. Akari please take a video of the women’s bath. There are 2 types of public baths.

The men’s and women’s baths change depending on the time. Currently, the women’s bath is a large white bath. The white large bath seems to have a cave motif. Like this. Amazing. I can smell the hot springs. Next, let’s take a look at the men’s bath. This is the changing room.

Currently, there is a white large bath for women and a black large bath for men. Like this. It seems to be a large bath with a calligraphy inkstone motif. The bathtub is made of inkstone. The writing is on the wall.

The previous owner of this inn was fond of calligraphy, so this design was chosen. This inn does not have an open-air bath. However, we can take an open-air bath at the affiliated inn “Ginzanso”. It’s about a 10 minute walk away. I won’t go today because it’s raining, but I hope to go tomorrow.

It’s on the top 3rd floor. The ceiling is so beautiful. The support posts look like old wood. The ceiling is new wood. Great. There are only 2 seats on the 3rd floor. I’m going to relax here and watch the snow for a while. There are many tourists. Wow amazing.

There is a sense of openness. Wow, so many tourists. There is snow on the roof, so the atmosphere is nice. It’s raining like sleet. Amazing. End of stroll inside the inn. I’m going into the public bath. It’s raining outside, so I would like to enjoy the hot springs at the inn.

I got out of the bath. Sweets. “A Grain of Thoughts” This is the inn’s original Japanese sweets. Wild grapes. What’s this? It’s kind of like jelly. Something is stuck inside. I can see something like a fruit inside. Is it the fruit of wild grapes? What? It tastes like something I’ve eaten before.

It’s not jelly. It’s not even yokan. The special feature of this inn is that it is all-inclusive. All drinks are unlimited. Dinner will be eaten at a restaurant exclusively for hotel guests called “Nogawatei”. We can also use “Yukemuri Shokudo Shirogane”, another restaurant located in the hot spring town.

We can enjoy unlimited drinks and meals at the restaurant for free during our stay. In addition to meals, there are also cakes and drinks. We can also take out and eat in our room at the inn. That’s amazing. The accommodation fee at this inn is a little high.

But there will be no additional charges. I think it’s great for people who like to drink a lot of alcohol and enjoy a lot of food. We can use the restaurant for free until tomorrow’s lunch time. We can also enjoy lunch after checking out. Amazing.

Although the accommodation plan includes 1 night and 2 meals, you can actually eat unlimitedly. You can use it at any time during your stay, so you can go for a snack. Maybe you can enjoy it even if you stay with 4 or 5 meals per night.

I think this is a great plan for people who drink a lot of alcohol. You don’t have to worry about extra charges during your stay. Yellow man. It looks like work clothes. LOL I’m going to dinner. Let’s also take a walk.

The hot spring town is cold in winter, so bench coats are provided. I wear it over my yukata. Very yellow. LOL There is a mark on the back. What? It says Kosekiya. They look like staff at an inn. LOL Boots were also provided. Is it raining? It’s raining.

But it gets dark and the atmosphere is nice. Oh, it’s getting pretty dark. I really like the night from the other side This is the Kosekiya main building where I am staying today. Oh, it feels good The atmosphere is really nice. Originally, it would have been better to come in a yukata.

It’s winter lol There are so many amazing tourists. It’s a lot more than the last time I came. When I visited during my trip around Japan I didn’t know because this place was completely renovated. It feels so good Entrance to the hot spring town This is the restaurant for dinner.

It started to rain lightly, so In the morning, there weren’t many people and I was able to take some photos. There was still some snow left I’m glad I was able to enjoy the snowy scenery. I was able to enjoy my long-awaited winter visit to Ginzan Onsen.

Well, if it’s true, this Kosekiya main building is I was able to eat until lunch though. Today we decided to go home without eating anymore. I said it yesterday too. At a place called Yukemuri Shokudo Shirogane. You can eat until lunch I want to eat cold meat soba and go home. Yes lol

I really enjoyed the atmosphere There are many other hot spring towns in Yamagata. I wanted to come again Well, winter has come this time. I’m a little disappointed that it rained. I hope I have the opportunity to come again. Because the price is a little high I can’t come that often.

If I have a chance, I would like to come to Ginzan Onsen again. I thought I would like to go to other hot spring towns. This time we will talk about Zao Onsen and Ginzan Onsen. I mainly enjoyed the hot springs. This is the end of the Tohoku trip
