Viaje CATAMARAN VALDIVIA CORRAL MANCERA, tour histórico en REINA SOFIA I | Ando en Barco
Hello everyone, how are you? My name is Ariel Cruz Pizarro and today we will see a tourist trip on a catamaran doing ‘Valdivia – Corral – Mancera’, a beautiful ride through the Valdivian rivers. Valdivia is a city in the south of Chile, the trip departs at 1:30 p.m. in Valdivia
And we arrive at 6:50 p.m. in the same city of Valdivia. Mom: Look, he’s scratching his armpit! (laughs) Yes, we start with a sea lion scratching hahahaha. Valdivia is one of the most beautiful cities in southern Chile, we see the river fair area that sells fruits, vegetables
And also fish, seafood, many delicious things. Next to this market, there are several tourist boat stands that offer rides. The navigation that we will do is the main or most important tour, but also the most expensive and the one that lasts the longest. The tour to Corral and Mancera,
Also called the historical rivers tour. Our trip will be on the catamaran ‘Reina Sofía Primera’, which is this motor ship that we see here, with capacity for 190 passengers. We set sail from Schuster Dock. There is a walkway to get onto the ship. When you go up, they take a commemorative photograph,
Which they then sell to you haha, it’s nice to have memories. And on the catamaran there are two decks, or floors. The first floor or deck is the cheapest, and the second floor or deck is the most expensive, here we see the tables on the second deck, they are shared tables,
The navigation ticket includes lunch and dinner, which we will see later. And well, I came to do this walk with my mom, hahaha. We begin the departure at 1:30 p.m. in Valdivia, at the Schuster dock. We see the river fair, where we were before,
And in the background we can see the Dreams de Valdivia hotel, where the casino is. It is nice and exciting to be here, traveling on one of these catamarans. Although I have been to Valdivia several times, I have rarely made this trip to Corral and Mancera by catamaran,
In my opinion, it is an unmissable trip, one of the best in Valdivia, although there are many very nice experiences in the city hahaha, it is a too beautiful city. I think it is one of the most beloved cities in Chile,
In the sense that it is the favorite or dream destination of many, people are very fond of this city, including me, it was years without being able to come and dreaming of being here. Lunch starts with classic bread and butter. There are several dishes available,
My mother ordered rice with shredded meat, with a drink, and I ordered rice with baked salmon and marinara sauce, both dishes with vegetables, very delicious. For a change, I asked my mom for some meat hahahaha, I snack and eat from everywhere. Later, they brought us dessert:
Lucuma or vanilla ice cream, I don’t remember the flavor hahaha. I am on the terrace of the catamaran ‘Reina Sofía Primera’, if there is something I like when sailing, it is being outdoors, receiving the wind in my face, which is usually cold hahaha, and seeing the landscapes, seeing everything, drinking photos, record,
Look and feel all these things. Topic aside, the landscapes of this entire journey are beautiful. Here you see me waving at the camera, having a good time. I like to see the clouds, look how beautiful everything is. Back there, that point, is another of the catamarans that does the same route.
The Chilean flag fluttering in the wind, or if… Well, the trip has its historical theme, although we will see it when we are in the forts of Corral and Mancera. On one side we have forests, and on the other side we have some small towns, with the road that connects Valdivia with Niebla,
In fact there appears an orange bus from Line 20, an urban micro that connects the two cities, can you see it? Another bus crossed right there. We had a wonderful day. Valdivia is known for being a rainy area,
If you come, it is very possible that you will see this with clouds or rain, but we had a wonderful sunny day. I’m happy, I’m happy for me, and I’m happy for my mother who hasn’t done this sailing in 20 years, who wasn’t in Valdivia. Within the beautiful views,
We came across a ferry that connects Niebla with Corral, the ship ‘Cullamó’. The walk we are doing can also be done using public transport, combining buses, ferries and boats. Another ship that makes the same route is ‘Andalién’, which we see from afar. We are getting closer and closer to the sea,
Although we will not reach the sea, we will always stay in the river area. Something I like is to see and take photos of the Line 20 buses from here, that bus makes a very nice trip. This is a dock, I’m not sure because I’ve never made the crossing,
But it could be the ferry dock to Corral, you can confirm it there. Along with transportation to Corral, there are also boats that go to Mancera, Isla del Rey, and there must be other services. To the right, we see the north bank of the Valdivia River,
Where Niebla is and the road continues to other beaches, and we can also see the mouth, the Pacific Ocean, the sea. How exciting. The catamarans make alternate routes, this time we had to visit Corral first, but sometimes we have to go to Mancera first, I imagine that they alternate
So as not to all be in the same place and time, because there are like 3 or 4 ships that do this route. Soon, we will be there, in the city of Corral. We have arrived at the Corral dock, there is a bit of a breeze,
It is strong but it is not that strong, the wind is fresh and rich. Corral is a city that is on the southern bank of the Valdivia River. From the waterfront it is possible to see the dock and take beautiful photos of the catamaran,
Like the view we are seeing with one of the hills or hills that Corral has in the city. It looks beautiful! In Corral, we pass through the city square and the municipality, we have to climb a short slope, because we will go to the San Sebastián de la Cruz fort,
Also called Corral fort, a historical museum. There were several of us, the catamaran was almost full, you have to think that summer is the time when most tourists come, and that is the reason why we arrived at this time. Something special happens in Corral in the summer,
So it’s good to come in the summer. The entrance fee to the fort was $2,000 pesos, about 2 dollars. I don’t really like to see or touch war themes, but it is part of our history. Corral Bay had a system of Spanish defensive fortifications to prevent invasions, pirates, all that happened centuries ago.
And in the summers, a great milestone is that they do historical reenactments of the taking of the Corral fort, that’s why I wanted to come on these dates, I had experienced this reenactment, but I had never recorded any of it and there are very few videos.
From a military point of view, this was quite a feat and also an important part of Chile’s independence. Guide Sergio Ñanco: they said that at least 40 well-armed ships were needed , and at least 5,000 infantry men to take the castles, resources (especially in the naval aspect)
That the nascent republic of Chile did not have, whoever took this challenge was this notable English strategist, sailor and military man Thomas Alexander Cochrane, naval calculations said 40 well-armed ships, Cochrane only came with 3 ships: Intrépido, Moctezuma and O’Higgins, they said 5,000 infantry men at least,
In the end, These fortresses were taken by 350 soldiers. Valdivia and Chiloé were still under Spanish rule when this occurred. With the black-necked swans swimming in the river, and the ferry that connects Corral with Niebla, in the fort we begin to see the historical recreation, the dramatization that has been done since 1995,
A very cool tradition of this battle of February 3 and 4, 1820. This reenactment runs in the summers, from the fortnight of December to the fortnight of March, and coincides with the arrival of the catamarans, although anyone who is at the Corral fort at those times, in the afternoons, can also attend. It is beautiful how the historical heritage is rescued,
With period costumes and a look of respect for the history of Spain: Honors, to His Majesty’s pavilion, attention to presents, weapons! Here they are raising the flag of the Spanish Empire, or the Spanish Monarchy. There were 4 castles: Amargos, Corral, Mancera and Niebla, along with several cannon batteries throughout the bay, any ship was visible from these points, it was something unconquerable. Since they could not arrive by sea,
The attack was finally made by landing elsewhere and conquering the forts by land, with ground troops. The Spanish and Chilean troops are fighting here. This is a little piece of the recreation, live it is much better and it is well acted, well entertaining. After the capture of the forts,
Chile was in control of this entire area, there was still Spanish control in the south of Valdivia and Chiloé to finish the independence process. Chile: long live the country! live! Announcer: On behalf of these young people, they are all students from the commune of Corral, and on behalf of our municipality,
The Department of Tourism, we thank you for visiting us and for choosing us. Have a happy return to your cities of origin. The dead… let them come back to life. After the reenactment, you can take photos with the soldiers for a tip. It is a very fun event, as the announcer said,
The actors are students from Corral schools, they are 16, 18 year old boys, the atmosphere is super cool, even with shades of black humor in some photographs hahaha. Here you can better appreciate the Corral fort, with the tunnels and all the infrastructure it had. In command of the Chilean troops
Were Thomas Cochrane, Jorge Beauchef and Guillermo Miller, all three of whom also participated in the independence of Peru later. Cochrane and Miller were English, Beauchef was French. And there another catamaran arrives. Also, in the fateful earthquake and tsunami of 1960, the tsunami waters reached up here, it was a monstrous thing.
At the Corral dock, there was the Reina Sofía Primera catamaran, and the Marqués de Mancera arrived, which is another of the catamarans that this company has, that one is a little older. At the dock there was also the catamaran Reina Sofía, without number, alone, and our catamaran, Reina Sofía Primera,
They are from different companies from what I understand. We already had to go up to navigate. This is a general panoramic view of the first deck of the Reina Sofía Primera catamaran, there are several tables, capacity for 100 passengers. On the first floor are the bathrooms, this is the men’s bathroom.
And so it is inside, the bathroom of this tourist catamaran, simple and functional. Outside, there is the Neptuno catamaran, another one that does the same route, I will show them with photos later. We are already arriving towards Mancera Island. I couldn’t see almost anything of the journey,
Because I went to the bathroom and it was time to go out hahaha. We have to disembark in Mancera, Mancera Island, which is a small, populated island in the Valdivia River. Here was also one of the strong points of the Spanish defense system. To explore the island, you have to walk,
It is a single path that is uphill, which connects the houses with the pier, and also reaches the Spanish fort that is at the top. You can see the houses with flowers, There are about 70 houses on the island, in the summers there is a craft fair for tourists,
And at the top you can see the church, the Virgen de la Candelaria chapel, right where the entrance to the fort is, the San Pedro de Alcántara castle. To enter the fort, you had to pay $1,000 pesos, a little more than 1 dollar.
The Mancera fort is one of the best preserved in the area, scenically it is very beautiful, although it does not have the historical recreation of the other, here everyone goes around, the catamaran guide tells you some historical facts or characteristics. Valdivia is a city very loved by people,
What I told you at the beginning, many dream or long to go to Valdivia on vacation, it has a very good reputation, and within the set of activities that can be done, I believe that these walks on a catamaran they are a must.
In our case, on this trip I came with my mother, she had not come to Valdivia for about 20 years, the last time was in 2001, I was young hahaha, I was a child, and we came as a family to do this trip, We saw the recreation, this fort, everything now,
It’s exciting, it’s super beautiful, and we enjoyed it a lot. I thank God for so many blessings, I thank you for the harmony, for the good vibes, for enjoying these adventures, these walks, there are more and more sailings, sailing is fun, and Valdivia gives you that possibility,
As a destination tourist it is very nice to come to this area. In the meantime, let’s look at the sheet with some data, and then we will see the return to the Pearl of the South. Our ticket cost $50,000 Chilean pesos each, $55, on the second deck.
The first floor or first deck was $40,000, 44 dollars. The price depends on the date, in low season it costs from $30,000, 33 dollars, and in the Valdivian night it cost $60,000, 66 dollars. For lunches, in addition to shredded beef and salmon, there was baked chicken and a vegetarian option.
On other catamarans there is also pulmay, a seafood preparation. This is the program. And comes the official brochure with the photo of the boat and the navigation map. This tourist route ‘Valdivia – Corral – Mancera’ is carried out by our catamaran, the other large catamaran is the Marqués de Mancera.
And the others that we saw are the motor ship Neptuno, which is from another company, and the Reina Sofía alone, the one that does not say first, which is a different ship. The 4 catamarans offer the same route, but the price and the comfort of the seats change.
At night, some days they have night walks, they also receive weddings, delegations, special trips, parties, etc. All of these videos are featured by my books. ‘Ribbon Cutting’, ‘The Heroes of Time’, ‘Blessed Elegance’, ‘Iris the sound of conch shells’, if you like what I do, you will love my books.
Super duper thanks to the members of the channel, and those who give their super thanks, very grateful. On the super map this route is with a line from Valdivia to Corral and Mancera. Now that we are heading back towards Valdivia, it is time for eleven.
You can drink tea or coffee, with sugar or sweetener, I prefer tea, I like tea better. And in addition to the cup, you have a crumb sandwich, and a kuchen with fruits, I don’t remember if it was blackberry, raspberry or blueberry, but it was delicious. Kuchen is a traditional German preparation,
And in the south of Chile, in Valdivia, Osorno, Frutillar, Puerto Varas, there are German colonies, so there is a lot of German influence in these areas, the kuchenes are exquisite. In addition to that, on the catamaran they sell mineral water, drinks, beers, and other drinks. Valdivia has a beer tradition, with craft beers,
And other local ones that have become massive, such as ‘Kuntsmann’. Right on the trip, we came across the other Reina Sofía, which is one of the catamarans that covers this route. In addition to Line 20, there is another bus called Expreso a la Costa that goes to Niebla,
And continues to other beaches further north such as Curiñanco. And tiny, you can see one of the orange buses of Line 20. Sailing like this gives enormous peace, and since you can go out on deck, outside, it is nice to be able to see the landscapes this way, I love it!
This is the view of the first deck, there is the captain and the crew in charge of the catamaran, and us as tourists. In front of us is the Marquis of Mancera, and we are already beginning to see the reeds of the wetlands near Valdivia.
Now we are almost parallel, we are faster hahaha, what a beautiful view we have! a catamaran race! ha ha ha. And now we have it, what a beautiful postcard here in Valdivia, very beautiful! I told them about the reeds near Valdivia. In Corral, I mentioned something.
All the areas with reeds were formerly dry land, but with the earthquake and tsunami of 1960, the relief of many areas in Valdivia changed, and several wetlands were formed. Valdivia was already a swampy city in its origin. The wetlands are home to several birds, highlighting the black-necked swans,
One of the symbols of Valdivia. Although we saw those in Corral, we couldn’t see them here. What a privilege to be here in Valdivia, browsing, I take the opportunity to send a big greeting to everyone who sees me in Valdivia, I have many friends, several readers, followers, the people are very affectionate
So a big hug. We are already finishing the navigation, the city of Valdivia begins to be seen, we see the Mulatas port, and in the background, the Valdivia casino hotel. This huge bridge is on the road from Valdivia to Niebla, the Cruces River bridge. To go to Punucapa, the boats use that river,
And on the way it is possible to see several black-necked swans, it is a very beautiful ride, a little shorter and cheaper than the trip we took. Valdivia is very beautiful. That’s it, we arrived. This is another boat, Tonina, that makes the trip to Punucapa, I have yet to make that trip,
Although I have already done it before. And happy to share this ride with you, a navigation with beautiful landscapes, with history, with culture, delicious food. It was worth it, I was happy, my mom was happy, everyone was happy hahaha, and well, we will see each other on more adventures, on more trips.
I leave you with the arrival of the Neptune ship, may God bless you very much, bye! that they are very well.

Bendiciones dsd San Luis, Argentina.
Hola Ariel Saludos Desde Chile

Saludos.
