It is time for me to retrieve my luggage from the storage I go back to the Ximen station where my backpack is stored the procedure to retrieve your baggage is as follow first locate where your locker is second enter the password that was printed on the slip earlier
Third payment is display and get ready coins only coins but not notes are allowed I have to go to the station control to get my coins change and lastly bingo you get your luggage just by the side of Ximen station I found this pancake stand give me a small portion
Will you heat that up? I am now at Starbucks Ximending this Starbucks is not only the first Starbucks that opened in Taiwan the Ximending Starbucks is rated as one of the coolest Starbucks in Taiwan this Starbucks is housed in a refurbished old building among the many low-rise houses along Ximending at first glance
It might seem like one of your run off the mill Starbucks but once inside you find that it’s actually quite spacious built in 1982 the building was originally a study centre then converted into different types of restaurants before eventually being the coffee house it is today
Since is right by one of the entrance of Ximending it is a great place to stop by and do people watching alternatively you can also drop by once you are done and in need of caffeine to recharge I am now looking for my accommodation for tonight
I suspect my hostel could be the one inside this building although there’s no signage here based on the address given on Google map this might be the one let me go over and check it out Angel’s hostel is located in between Taipei Train Station and Ximending, the main shopping district
The location is excellent this is going to be my accommodation for one night Angel’s hostel is located on the second floor of a shopping mall one of the easiest hostels to locate so far second floor ah got it Angel hostel level two easy-peasy that’s quite an easy find

No, the reservation just locked your credit card number only oh really you pay on the spot alright credit card or cash? cash, 450 NTD by cash That is the shower and toilet this is our shower shampoo and conditioner there is dryer inside the toilet use your own towel
Rent from us if you need a towel I will show you where the toilet is get your toilet paper here first ok is that the kitchen? no that’s not the kitchen is not for use that is the entrance to the toilet ok that is the sensor the black part alright
Pull the door upon blue light go straight and that’s the gents ok oh that is not where I stay once you are back look at where the arrow is that is the card censor is the toilet situated outside the premise? yes the toilet is outside the shower room is inside. Not the same
OK drinking water, cold water, hot water that is where the paper cups are ok can you turn on the light the switch is up there ok the bed that is assigned to me is located at the loft level with a good view of what’s happening around me
I try another train ticket vending machine because I couldn’t see the station name over here. OK “Shulin” all this while I have been looking at wrong screen you should look at this then this is my station full fare? yes cash payment insert 18 NTD cash notes or coins
After checking in and do a quick settle down at the hostel I proceed to take a train to my next destination Shulin from where I am at Taipei Railway Station the journey takes 20 minutes and 18 NTD Shulin is located southwest of Taipei City in the New Taipei County
It is a suburb and industrial part of Taipei and it does not have any tourist attraction that I’m aware of I will reveal the purpose why I am in Shulin in the next episode meantime if you like what you see so far please consider subscribing to this channel
