Hello. This is Taka from ZIPANG55. I am coming to Kohama Island, Okinawa Prefecture. We are staying at Hoshino Resorts Risonare Kohama Island, which is 20 minutes by boat from Ishigaki Island. This time we will introduce activities that can be booked from the hotel.

It is said that the grass that grows around here can be eaten by boiling it. We will now head to the island that can be seen in the back. The sea is highly transparent and the water temperature is moderate. It’s very beautiful.
This is the kayak we will be using today. There was one for two people and one for one. The guide will carefully explain how to paddle.The kayaks used in the ocean and the rivers in the forest have different ways of paddling.
Kayaking in the forest doesn’t have to be paddled correctly because there are no waves or currents, so kayaking can proceed smoothly. The area around Ishigaki Island is a barrier reef, so it’s relatively easy to paddle. Sea kayaks also come with pedals that allow you to control the direction.
