Hello, this is Life in Shikoku. Today, look for plum blossoms, Kawazu cherry blossoms and canola flowers in the Nanyo area of Ehime Prefecture. The weather looks good! Heading to the Plum Blossom Festival in Nanrakuen Garden, Uwajima City. Arrive at “Nanrakuen”, one of the largest Japanese gardens in Shikoku. Heading to the plum garden.

160 plum trees, including famous and old trees, are collected. Arrival at the plum garden. Lots of plum trees in the garden at their best. The stunning weeping plum blossoms are eye-catching. This weeping plum tree is also gorgeous. The Plum Blossom Festival attracts many visitors every year.

Pink and white plum blossoms on the same tree. White plum trees are just beginning to bloom. Vivid Japanese quince. The garden scenery surrounding the plum garden is also relaxing. We’ll explore some more. Under the weeping plum trees, have plum tea. Crush the plum, it is salty.

Heading to Kikitsu, Honai-cho, Yawatahama City to see Kawazu Cherry Blossoms. Passing through Goze Tunnel, Kawazu cherry blossoms spread along the road. From the national road, go down to the 255 prefectural road to see the cherry blossoms. Seems like about 70% are in bloom. Cherry blossoms in the blue sea.

We can see Kikitsu Port below. Daffodils are pretty too. Let’s leave Kikitsu area. Kawazu cherry blossoms continue in the area from Kikitsu to Isaki. On the way back, stop by the canola flower field in Futami-cho. A slope full of canola flower field. Daffodils look good on canola flowers.

こんにちは、Life in Shikoku です。愛媛県の南予方面で、早春の花を探しました。まず、宇和島市にある、四国最大級の日本庭園「南楽園」の梅まつりへ。満開のしだれ梅が見事でした。整備された日本庭園も美しい。

次に、八幡浜市保内町喜木津地区へ。国道・県道沿いに植えられた河津桜が七分咲きに。青い海に可憐な桜が映える、素晴らしい景色でした。帰り道に、双海町の菜の花畑へ。斜面いっぱいの菜の花と、水仙や河津桜のコラボを楽しみました。この景色を、一緒に楽しんで頂けたら嬉しいです。

Hello, this is Life in Shikoku. We went to the Nanyo area of Ehime Prefecture looking for early spring flowers. First, to the plum festival at “Nanrakuen”, one of the largest Japanese gardens in Shikoku, located in Uwajima City. The weeping plum trees in full bloom were magnificent. The well-maintained Japanese garden was also beautiful.

Next, to the Kikitsu area of Honai-cho, Yawatahama City. About 70% of Kawazu cherry trees planted along the national and prefectural roads were in bloom. It was a wonderful to see the pretty cherry blossoms against the blue sea. On the way home, stopped at the canola flower field in Futami Town. We enjoyed the combination of daffodils, Kawazu cherry blossoms, and canola flowers filling the slopes. We would be happy if you enjoy this scenery with us.
