Kyoto Hidden Gems Tour: Must-Try Local Delicacies Around Miyama Kayabuki-no-Sato |有CC繁體中文
Hi everyone! Today, I’m going to show you some amazing places in Miyama Town, where stunning nature meets delicious food. Kyoto’s Miyama Town is known for its traditional scenery and lifestyle, much like the historic Shirakawa-go in Gifu. And, it’s also packed with loads of tasty food! Let’s dive in and enjoy it together.
Our first stop is Restaurant Kajikaso, where you can savor a variety of game meats, including deer and wild boar, plus local jidori chicken. The ‘Kaede Gozen’ is a luxurious set menu, loaded with fresh venison. The thick and tender roasted venison is lean and refreshing in taste.
This dish, called ‘Kuwa-yaki,’ is grilled venison with a superb sauce that perfectly matches the meat. The sweet and spicy flavor with hints of sansho pepper makes it a great match with rice. Next up is Kitamura, where you can enjoy handmade soba noodles using locally cultivated ingredients.
This is the luxurious ‘Tenmori Soba,’ homemade, handcut soba that comes with a delightful combination of vegetable and chicken tempura. Also try the delicious ‘Tamago Kake Gohan,’ which is white rice topped with raw Miyama eggs. You’ll love the blissful harmony of flavors in every bite.
Our next destination is Cafe Gallery Saika, a charming cafe located in a traditional folk house in Miyama’s picturesque thatched village. Their ‘Kibi Koubo Dango Set’ comes with three colored dumplings, coffee jelly, and Miyama milk soft serve, making a delightful sweet treat.
Each dango has its own unique flavor, and the chewy texture is simply irresistible. The Miyama milk soft serve has a perfect balance of sweetness and richness from the milk. Enjoying it alongside the picturesque Miyama landscape makes the experience really special.
Our final stop is Cafe Milan. It is a unique café and egg shop where you can enjoy special puddings found nowhere else. The simple yet delicious ‘Milan Pudding’ creates a perfect balance with its rich egg flavor and a slightly bitter caramel.
Their gelato, made with Miyama milk, even has a Japanese twist with a black soybean flavor. These amazing gourmet delights, along with Miyama’s beautiful scenery, are sure to give visitors wonderful memories. Definitely try these flavors when you visit Miyama Town!
Kyoto’s Miyama is known for its traditional Japanese landscapes and lifestyle, much like Gifu Prefecture’s Shirakawa-go. One of its charms lies in the abundance of locally sourced, nature’s bounty. From vegetables and fruits to meat and fish, the region offers a variety of produce from the fields, mountains, and rivers. Whether you prefer a hearty meal or convenient takeaway sweets, there are options to suit your travel needs.
In this adventure, we explored the local gourmet scene around Miyama Kayabuki-no-Sato. From locally grown soba to exquisite soft-serve ice cream made with Miyama’s renowned milk, there are plenty of delightful treasures waiting to be savored!
