To all of you, OSHIRO. welcome. My name is Mori Nagayoshi. He is the builder of the fort we will visit this time. I was good with a spear, and because of my prowess, I was given a nickname and was feared. What would people have said to me? 1 Oni Musashi 2 Momotaro

3 Immortal Oni Mino 4 The correct answer for Mino’s viper is in the program. hello everyone. Today I went to visit the castle again. The castle we visited today is the ruins of a fort called Aotsuka Fort. Let’s go right away.

Aotsuka Fort is a fort ruin that existed in Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture. Originally, it was a keyhole-shaped tumulus. It was built in the middle of the 4th century during the early Kofun period. It is also called “Ozuka” and “Chausuyama”. It is the second largest keyhole-shaped tumulus in Aichi Prefecture.

The length of the burial mound is 123 m. It is approximately 12m high. In 1584, Hashiba Hideyoshi established a fort during the Battle of Komaki Nagakute. The person who built the camp was Nagayoshi Mori. A force of 3,000 soldiers was stationed there.

He was the older brother of Ranmaru Mori, famous as Oda Nobunaga’s page, and was killed in the Battle of Komaki Nagakute. The Battle of Komaki Nagakute is a battle between Hideyoshi Hashiba and the combined forces of Nobuo Oda and Ieyasu Tokugawa who were aiming for control of the nation after the Honnoji Incident.

The year is 1583. Hashiba Hideyoshi won the battle against Nobutaka Oda and Katsuie Shibata and began construction of Osaka Castle in June. Settsu country where Osaka Castle is located. After the Honnoji Incident, Tsuneoki Ikeda ruled. Tsuneoki Ikeda is Oda Nobunaga’s milk brother.

Tsuneoki Ikeda was given Mino, the former territory of Nobutaka Oda, and made Ogaki Castle his base. He then allowed his eldest son, Motosuke, to enter Gifu Castle. With his master absent, Settsu became the home base of Hideyoshi Hashiba. Hideyoshi promotes the unification project.

Meanwhile, Nobutaka Oda of the Oda family was forced to commit suicide after being defeated by Hideyoshi Hashiba. Nobuo Oda, who ruled Ise, declared himself the actual successor of the Oda family. As a result, he broke up with Hideyoshi Hashiba.

Furthermore, Tokugawa Ieyasu, who had a long alliance with Oda Nobunaga, invaded and took control of Kai and Shinano, which had no ruler after the Honnoji Incident. Tokugawa Ieyasu, who became the satrap of the five provinces of Mikawa, Totomi, Suruga, Shinano, and Kai, joined forces with Nobuo Oda to oppose Hideyoshi Hashiba.

In 1583, Oda Nobuo murdered three senior retainers of Hideyoshi, Yoshifuyu Tsugawa, Shigetaka Okada, and Shinpachi Asai, at Nagashima Castle. Thus began the Battle of Komaki-Nagakute. The war begins in Kitaise. Nobuo Oda attacks Hideyoshi’s Ise Kameyama Castle. However, the Hashiba army invaded Ise from Omi.

March 13th. When Nobuo Oda attacked Ise, Tsuneoki Ikeda of Ogaki Castle and Nagayoshi Mori of Kaneyama Castle attacked Inuyama Castle. Tsuneoki Ikeda had been the lord of Inuyama Castle until four years ago, and was familiar with the structure of the castle.

As soon as the war started, Ikeda Tsuneoki was invited by both Nobuo Oda and Hideyoshi Hashiba, so he needed to make his flag clearer. By attacking Inuyama Castle, which belonged to Nobuo Oda’s side, they made it clear that they belonged to Hashiba’s camp.

In recognition of his success in capturing Inuyama Castle, Hideyoshi promised to give Ikeda Tsuneoki half of Owari and Inuyama Castle. Also on March 13th. Tokugawa Ieyasu, who was on his way to rescue Ise, entered Kiyosu Castle. From there, the army hurriedly moved to Mt. Komaki, occupied it, and made it their headquarters.

On March 17, they raided the Haguro camp, which was the front line of the Ikeda forces at Inuyama Castle. The Ikeda forces are routed. March 21st. Hideyoshi Hashiba departs from Osaka Castle. March 27th. Hideyoshi arrives at Inuyama Castle. Furthermore, they advance their army and make Rakuden their headquarters.

He then built forts at Nijubori, Tanaka, Komatsuderayama, Iwasakiyama, Uchikuboyama, Aotsuka, and Koguchi, and stationed his generals there. Aotsuka Fort became a fort using a keyhole-shaped tumulus at this time. The castle was built by Mori Nagayoshi, the lord of Kaneyama Castle. 3000 soldiers were deployed. March 28th. Tokugawa Ieyasu entered Komakiyama Castle.

The next day, March 29th. Nobuo Oda enters Komakiyama. He built forts in three locations: Udatsu, Toyama, and Kanishimizu. The main forces of both armies faced each other. In the Hashiba camp, Tsuneoki Ikeda proposes a strategy.

The plan was to invade Mikawa, the home country of Tokugawa Ieyasu, and attack Okazaki Castle. If successful, they will be able to disrupt the Tokugawa army from behind. This is a strategy called “Nakairi” to attack the empty homeland.

Midnight on April 6th. Tsuneoki Ikeda, Nagayoshi Mori, Hidemasa Hori, and Hidetsugu Miyoshi led 20,000 people to Mikawa. April 8. Tokugawa Ieyasu sensed this movement of the Hashiba army and secretly led his main force to sneak out of Mt. Komaki and pursue them.

On April 9th, the Tokugawa army, which had prepared itself at Obata Castle, attacked the Hashiba army from the rear, aiming to “enter” the castle. This surprise attack completely destroyed the Hashiba army that had entered the area. Motosuke Ikeda is the eldest son of Tsuneoki Ikeda. Mori Nagaka was killed in this battle.

Hideyoshi gave up on the decisive battle in eastern Owari and moved his main forces to the battle in Ise, Nobuo Oda’s home country. The Tokugawa army’s fighting performance in this battle greatly influenced Tokugawa Ieyasu’s political standing when he later became a member of Hideyoshi’s government.

The Aotsuka Fort that I visited today was a fort established during this battle. Everyone. Are you enjoying visiting the castle? Now it’s time to check the answers to the quiz at the beginning of the program.

The correct answer is Oni Musashi from 1. I was good at spears, just like my father, Yoshinari Mori. He played an active role in the Nagashima Ikko Ikki and the attack on Takeda.

After the fall of Takeda, they were given territory in Shinano, but when Nobunaga was killed in battle, they had no choice but to abandon their territory in Shinano.
