[Kyoto Walk] Walking in Gion where Maiko gather 👘

Gion is Kyoto’s foremost entertainment district. Originally prospering as a temple town for Yasaka Shrine, it has developed into a district known for its entertainment. It is one of the places where you can see the most typical scenery of Kyoto, and it’s also where you can see maiko. Additionally, Chion-in Temple, located near Gion, is one of the largest temples in Kyoto, designated as a national treasure, where you can see important cultural properties such as the Sanmon gate and the Mieido hall. Walking through this beautiful and historic area, you may find yourself becoming quite knowledgeable about Kyoto.
