Stylish capsule of ferry. Let’s set sail! Hello! Here I’m on the Osaka New Tram train. Arriving at Trade Center Station. Ferry trip to Kagoshima today. First, Ie go to the ferry terminal. From the ticket gate to exit 2. Proceed to the next building. That’s the ATC (Asia Trade Center) Bldg.

Sakishima Bldg. from the window. The 6th tallest building in Japan. Into the ATC bldg. Very large. There are directions here and there. Sunflower Ferry window. That’s the window for the ferry to Beppu. Proceed down the passage. Store and waiting room on the way. Let’s take a look at the waiting room.

The red dotted line is the Kagoshima route. Ferry departs at 5:55 p.m. Arrives at Shibushi Port in Kagoshima at 8:55 a.m. Continue further down the passage. A short bus ride to the ferry terminal. Walking further down the passage. The Sunflower ferry can be seen on the left. At the end of the passage.

Go to the elevator on the right. Down to the 1st floor is the bus stop. 5 minute walk from the station gates. 7 buses on weekdays. Two ferries. The is for Beppu. “Kurenai” Please check out my past video! Here comes the bus. “Sunflower Satsuma” Let’s board. 1 minute, free. Arrival. Lots of sun.

At a glance: Sunflower Ferry. Boarding procedures at the window. Waiting area here too. No store. Vending machines and coin lockers. Let’s look at the hull. “Sunflower Satsuma” Inaugurated in 2018, 192m long. Next to “Kurenai” bound for Beppu. Ropes taut and tight. Let’s go back to the ferry terminal.

The sun is about to set. Vehicles board one after another. Beyond the hull is the Sakishima Bldg. Between the bows is the Grand Prince Hotel Osaka Bay. Fourth bus. Boarding has begun. Walk towards the hull. Connected to the 2nd floor of the ferry. The sun on the hull up close.

Escalator to 6th floor lobby. Elevator also available. Stairwell from 6th to 8th floor. Projection of images on the ceiling. Spacious 6th floor lobby. Store and observation corridor. And this song playing on board… “The Sunflower Song” Sunflower Sunflower♪ Protected by the sun… ♪ Sunflower Sunflower ♪ Protected by the sun. Let’s sail. ♪

This song is played when boarding. It is an addictive song. Now, this is my cabin. Unlocked with a card key. “Private Single” $120. Nine small semi-private rooms in a long narrow room. My room is number 9. It’s like a room in a capsule hotel. This small room has the necessary functions.

Bed width is 85 cm. Passengers set their own sheets. Television is movable. Thick mattress. Luggage can be put under the bed. Bedside lighting and electrical outlet. Towel, toothbrush and slippers. Small trash can. Life vest in shelf. View from the bedside. Vent near ceiling. Can be opened and closed.

Can be locked from the inside only. It will be comfortable. View from the 7th floor lobby. Gong 15 minutes before departure. Large vessels must have gongs. The 8th floor to outside deck. It was a fulfilling dinner time. Let’s take a look around the ferry. Information desk and store on the 6th floor. The store is well-stocked. Lots of souvenirs from Kagoshima. Not cigarettes, but green tea. Kagoshima is a tea-producing region. And of course sweet potato shochu. Sunflower original goods. Puzzles, small articles

Curry, front cover, notebooks. Towel, toothbrush, razor Mineral water The ferry sails through Kitan Strait. Tomogashima Island on the left. Awaji Island on the right. 6th floor lobby again. Lights out. Projection mapping on the ceiling. Adventures in the sea on the Sunflower. Sightseeing spots. 15 minutes or so.

Sanfurawa deep-fried fish paste. Seaweed, Salmon flakes, Pickles Salad, Various breads Porridge, Curry, Miso soup Yogurt, Granola Various drinks To the table by the window. Outside the window is the flowing sea. One hour to arrival. Cape Toi is in sight. Cape Toi Lighthouse first lit in 1929.

The ferry is catching the morning sun at its back. Passing off the coast of Cape Toi. Shibushi Port comes into view. Sunlight is on board. Relaxing before arrival. Uninhabited Biro Island to starboard. The ferry to Shibushi Port. Breakwater 2.5 km long. Shibushi is a port town in eastern Kagoshima Prefecture.

The largest international port in southern Kyushu. Container terminal to port. Some breakwater caissons. One seagull. Several cargo ships. The ferry approaches the wharf. Closing the gap to the wharf. Stern deck. Line thrower gun ready. Firing! Rope takers pulling the line. Rope to the bollard. Second line. So close he throws by hand.

Working in unison. Work proceeds efficiently. Third rope. Working with the ferry and the wharf. This is the last rope. 8:55 a.m. Arrival on time Connecting ramp. Fifteen-hour voyage is over. Let’s disembark. From the 7th floor to the 6th floor. This is the last time I’ll see this stairwell. Waiting for disembarkation to begin.

  14. この1月末に太平洋フェリーで大阪港から福岡,門司港まで行き、その足で新幹線に乗り、大阪に戻ってきました。初めて船と新幹線に乗った6歳の孫は喜んで,興奮しきりでした。 今度はサンフラワー号で鹿児島か別府に行ってみたいですね。 太平洋フェリーのスイートで申し分なかったのですが、残念ながら、バイキングはイマイチでした。
