Sleep Inside a Painting at the Japanese Art Museum Hotel | Park Hotel Tokyo

Hi! We’re here at Shinbashi Station, Tokyo. Shinbashi is known as “the city of working people.” Over the years, it has evolved into a bustling business district with numerous skyscrapers. The art museum hotel where we plan to stay tonight is also among these buildings. Look, it’s the Yurikamome.

I thought it was a monorail, but it turns out it’s neither a railway nor a monorail. The hotel, a 7-min walk from Shinbashi Sta, connects directly to Shiodome Sta👀 It’s easily accessible from both Haneda and Narita Airports, making it very convenient✈️ Ah, it’s that triangular building. It’s huge

The building is called “Shiodome Media Tower.” The hotel occupies the floors above the 25th, with offices below. With elevators right away, it’s convenient for rainy days or when you have lots of luggage😌 We’ve arrived at the 25th floor, where the reception, restaurant, and bar are located. Wow, amazing

It’s open all the way up! So cool. It’s a 10-story atrium up to the 34th floor. There’s a spacious lounge with lots of sofas. From the windows, you can enjoy views of Tokyo Tower and the skyscrapers👀 Let’s check in. The hotel welcomes many guests from abroad.

>> Staff: The check-out date is tomorrow until 11 a.m. >> Staff: If you just read this QR code through your mobile phone, you’ll get all the hotel information >> Staff: Like room service, restaurant information, everything on your phone >> Staff: So this is the information for you

>> Staff: Do you have any other questions, Sir and Madam? >> Staff: So you can just leave your luggage over there >> Staff: Later, we will deliver it to your room >> Staff: Thank you very much. Enjoy your stay There’s also a foreign currency exchange machine.

The hotel is filled with art pieces everywhere. It really feels like a museum. The 25th floor showcases exhibitions of Japan’s four seasons. These are ART notebooks with covers designed by artists. So cute. You can buy them. What surprised me is that you can also buy the art, even paintings.

The price is listed right next to the name of the work. There are events like art experiences and workshops. Today, it’s table tea ceremony🍵 You can enjoy performance observation and matcha experience. Participation is free and exclusive to guests staying at the hotel. Beautiful Events and exhibits change with the season.

Checking in advance and planning your stay might be a nice idea. Here is your matcha. First, please enjoy a dried sweet. Sweetening your palate first makes the matcha even more delightful. The sweetness bursts in your mouth☺️ I’d love to know the name of this delicious sweet. The matcha bowl is heart-shaped and cute🫶

It’s great to have the opportunity to easily experience Japanese culture in a hotel😌 Let’s head to our room. There are various types of guest rooms, but today, we’re staying in an ‘Artist Room’ where artists have directly painted on the walls. The 31st floor is entirely made up of Artist Rooms.

Wow, art pieces welcome you the moment you step out of the elevator. There’s a large window that lets you look down to the 25th floor. Oh, it’s beautiful from above too. What’s inside the huge gift box?👀 There are over 400 art pieces on display throughout the hotel.

Art pieces are exhibited like this along the corridors of each guest room floor. Artist Rooms have a plate on the door indicating the room’s theme. Our room is “Geisha Goldfish” The room card is also beautiful The case can be used as a postcard.

Artist Room Queen: From 39,000 yen (258.99 USD / € 241.86) for 2 people including breakfast. Wow, amazing! The room is full of goldfish! What a beautiful room! It’s not a very large room, but it doesn’t feel cramped, maybe thanks to the art. This room was created by Aki Narita.

An artist from Aomori Prefecture. She envisioned the guest room as an aquarium and dedicated 7 months to its creation. Wow, red goldfish are swimming on the ceiling. The walls are painted directly with oil paints, delicate and truly beautiful. Do you have a favorite red goldfish?

I like this red goldfish that seems to be talking to us. Occasionally, you’ll find non-goldfish characters, adding a playful touch😆 These girls are also beautiful red goldfish styled as geishas. The hotel has many other artist rooms. A room themed “Zen” A Zen meditation corner. “Winter” Snow, mochi, kotatsu… (words related to Japanese winter)

A room themed “Flowers & Grasses” The places for art vary by artist, which is interesting. And we got a special sneak peek at a room still under creation. The artist is Yuji Kanamaru. It’s been nearly 3 years since he started working on it.

The project is ongoing, and it seems more artist rooms will be added in the future. Now, back to the Geisha Goldfish room. Let’s take a tour. Even the area around the AC is full of swimming goldfish. Apparently, there are over 600 goldfish in this room😳

The entrance area has darker wallpaper, giving a deep-sea feel. The bathroom is here. And there’s a closet right near the entrance door. The closet is impressive too! Looks like it could fit a suitcase, as long as it’s not too large. A safety box, and slippers for the room.

There’s a large window, and even here, there are small goldfish. It’s like they’re swimming in the sky. Since the hotel is a triangular building, rooms offer different views. But this room is on the Tokyo Tower side. You could even see Mount Fuji behind Tokyo Tower! A compact study area Multi-type outlets

A reading lamp💡 It moves A cute round mirror A TV From the chair by the window, the TV is perfectly positioned. You can enjoy TV programs, and by logging in, you can access Netflix. A minibar and bedside table Glasses and an ice bucket Cups and an electric kettle

Coffee, green tea and black tea Ah, it was empty. A small fridge Free water A phone, notepad, and outlets by the bedside. Room lights can be controlled from here, convenient for bedtime. Goldfish also swim on the bathroom door and inside👀 The bath and toilet are combined

It looks like the goldfish are swimming in a circle. It’s art utilizing mirrors. Maybe it’s papercut art? Found a pair Hidden among the goldfish…🐱🐶👦 A simple washbasin and eco-friendly amenities. A cotton set A shower cap and hair tie A hairbrush A razor A body towel A toothbrush

Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, body cream. The bottles are cute Towels and a hairdryer You can freely visit the art on other floors, so let’s take a little walk. The 29th and 32nd floors are the “Paralym Art Museum” “Paralym Art” supports artists with disabilities.

Here, works from the Paralym Art World Cup are on display and for sale. You can also walk around the corridors on the guest room side to see the art. Truly a “stayable museum” The 28th floor is the “The Artisan’s Life” Edo kiriko glassware, beckoning cats, etc👀 Wajima lacquerware from Ishikawa Prefecture.

We are praying that things can return to normal quickly. There were various exhibitions on other floors, too, and it was fascinating. Time flew by. It’s soothing. The view from the Geisha Goldfish Room. Dinner time. We’ve come to the 25th floor. After sunset, art is projected on a 30m high wall.

There are several restaurants and bars in the hotel. Tonight, dining at Hanasanshou, a Japanese restaurant. House guest menu: 11,000 yen (73.07 USD/ € 68.22) per person It’s a kaiseki cuisine course. Park Hotel Tokyo Gin & Tonic Cute with perilla leaves🌼 Valentine Martini Happy Valentine🍫💖 >> Staff: This is sesame tofu

>> Staff: Served with black sesame crackers Let’s eat. Fluffy and chewy A cute Mt. Fuji-shaped bowl for the soup🗻 Shrimp fish cake and bamboo shoots. The bonito broth is flavorful. Sashimi of striped jack and sea bream It’s also beautiful to look at. An assortment of shrimp and seasonal vegetable tempura

Dissolve grated daikon and ginger in the tempura dipping sauce… Eggplant tempura is delicious, isn’t it?🍆 Crispy and good Dining while overlooking the city of Tokyo. It’s elegant. For the meat dish, you can choose between beef or chicken. The chicken dish is teriyaki. Here is the Japanese Wagyu beef salt grill.

Tender, yet with a beef-like texture that’s just right. Good. Tuna bowl and miso soup Add wasabi to soy sauce I believe the tuna are likely marinated in sesame. Savory and addictive😀 Goooood I thought I was full, but I managed to eat it. Lastly, dessert and tea Strawberries and oranges. Sweet

The ice cream was very good! Thank you for the meal! Tokyo Tower is visible🗼 In the lounge, you can drink free coffee or tea, but since it’s night, we decided to buy some alcohol🥂 It overflowed😂 Alcohol costs 1,000 yen (6.64 USD / € 6.20) per glass

Mine is a sake called “Dassai”, which is my favorite! I feel like the lounge smells nice. Very good atmosphere We are back. The art reflected in the window is beautiful. The night is nice too. I wonder if the faces on the wall are peering into the aquarium (room).

You can see Tokyo Tower well from the room. The view is really good☺️ It seems Tokyo never sleeps, but we’re about to. Let’s take a shower and brush our teeth. Goodnight🌙 Good morning🌥 The view from the bed Thank you for watching over us Good morning to the red goldfish Going for breakfast.

We’ll have it at the Art Colours Dining on the 25th floor. >> Staff: Breakfast for two, right? Bright but a calm atmosphere. Breakfast is a semi-buffet style. Pick a main from the menu, and you can enjoy unlimited drinks and sides. So, we picked various items☺️

Let’s do some ketchup art on my husband’s omelet🎨 Can you tell what it is?😂 Answer in the comments. I ordered a set with fruits, salad, and gluten-free bread. Everything was good, but especially the chocolate bread🥰 Thank you for the meal Coffee & Tea Time

Drip coffee and black tea from KEY COFFEE, a Japanese coffee brand. Two days ago, it snowed in Tokyo, but today the weather is nice☀️ Check-out is until 11 a.m. Thank you very much And thank you for watching this far🐰🐰 Please subscribe to our channel! And if you like it, please thumbs up.

See you next time.

  7. The interior decoration is a little too avant garde for me (I did like the tea ceremony though). But the jarring color design and surrealism, I don’t think I could relax.
