This video was shot in Dali, Yunnan Province(雲南大理) in January 2024 I’m currently in Xizhou Ancient Town(喜州古鎮) Xizhou Ancient Town is a traditional Bai(白族) village located about 18 kilometers from Dali Ancient City(大理古城).

This ancient town has preserved a large number of Bai residential buildings. Famous for its typical “Three Square and One Shining Wall”(三坊一照壁) and “Four Harmonies and Five Tranquil Wells”(四合五天井) pattern of Bai gardens The history of Xizhou Ancient Town is more than 1,000 years old.

It was once a military town of Nanzhao(南詔) and one of the trading centers of Yunnan. The architecture here is unique, the houses are carved and painted, and the colorful decorative arts are colorful. It is an excellent place to experience the culture and architectural art of the Bai people. I walked to Square Street(四方街).

This is a small square surrounded by many stores, and is the center of the whole town In front of me is the Coner Tower(轉角樓), which is the most famous landmark here Built in 1945, it is a historical building with unique structure and shape among the residential buildings in the ancient town of Xizhou.

I am currently located in Zhoucheng Village(周城村). Zhoucheng Village is located north of the ancient town of Xizhou in Dali, and is an ancient village of the Bai people. Nowadays, when you walk into the village, you can still see Bai buildings and aunts wearing ethnic costumes, with a strong ethnic flavor.

The art of tie-dyeing is very famous here, which is the first reason for many tourists to come here. The long strips of canvas floating in the ancient courtyard are very beautiful. I am currently at Panxi S Bay(磻溪S彎). Panxi S Bay is the closest place to Erhai Lake(洱海).

You can enjoy the beautiful view of Erhai Lake from here. The route here is actually not that long. But just a small path can make you feel unusually romantic and on the road to happiness.

Xizhou Ancient Town(喜州古鎮) is located in the northern part of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province(雲南大理). It is a traditional village where the Bai people(白族) gather, about 18 kilometers away from the ancient city of Dali. This ancient town is not only a living performance of Bai culture, but also retains a large number of Bai residential buildings. It is famous for its typical Bai courtyard layout of “three squares and one screen wall”(三坊一照壁) and “four in one with five patios”(四合五天井). Xizhou Ancient Town has a history of more than a thousand years. It was once a military center in Nanzhao(南詔) and one of the trade centers in Yunnan. The architectural style here is unique, the residences have carved beams and painted beams, and the colorful paintings and decorative arts are colorful. Zhoucheng Village(周城村) is located to the north of Xizhou Ancient Town in Dali. It is an ancient village of the Bai ethnic group. The tie-dye art here is very famous and is the primary reason why many tourists come here. The long canvases flying in the antique courtyard are really beautiful.

Panxi S Bay(磻溪S彎) is the closest place to Erhai Lake. Sitting here, you can have a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery of Erhai Lake. The route here is actually not that long, but just a small road can give you an extraordinary view. Romantic, feeling like you are on a beautiful road to happiness.
