SUB【ホテル宿泊記】徹底紹介!歴史と贅沢が交差する超オススメのホテル『ホテルメトロポリタン 鎌倉』 / 神奈川 / ホテル紹介

Kamakura Station, located in the eastern part of Kanagawa Prefecture, has been selected as one of the top 100 stations in the Kanto region. This time we will be visiting a hotel located 2 minutes walk from the east exit, also known as the front exit!

HOTEL METROPOLITAN KAMAKURA, I will be visiting this hotel today. Hotel Metropolitan is a hotel of the JR East Hotels Group. In addition to Metropolitan Hotels, Tokyo Station Hotel, Hotel Mets, and Mesm Tokyo, where we stayed before, are also part of the JR East Hotels Group.

HOTEL METROPOLITAN KAMAKURA’s reception is located on the second floor. This hotel also has a courtyard. Now, let’s check in. Check-in procedures are done using an LCD tablet. By the way, just by becoming a JR Hotel Member, you can get a late check-out until 12:00.

Security is perfect as you have to hold your card key to access the guest room floor! This hotel also comes with benefits for Ikyu Diamond members. Late check-out overlaps with JR Hotels membership, but I appreciate the other benefits. We arrived at the 5th floor. A Japanese space welcomes you.

Let’s move forward towards the room. Room 541, which I was assigned this time. This is a premium corner double with only 2 rooms. I’m excited to see what kind of room awaits me. Now, let’s enter! I entered the room. First of all, there is a corridor.

Here is the location of the room. This is a corner room near the elevator. As soon as you enter the room, to your right is where you insert your card key and the remote control for the air conditioner. Let’s move forward into the room!

If you look around, you’ll see a bed in the front and a relaxing space in the back. The beds are made by Simmons’ “Beautyrest LUXE SERIES.” I looked at the nightwear that was on the bed. Made of comfortable fabric, it is a separate type. The cuffs had gold stitching.

A Daikin humidifying air purifier has also been installed from the beginning. Let’s take a look at the living space. The living space is slightly raised. Please be careful. Tivoli Audio Bluetooth speaker. The design is also stylish. Black vessels decorated with gold leaf were also displayed.

There were also power outlets at both ends of the table where the previous bowl was located. The living space looks like this. The sofa is large enough for one adult to lounge around on. The colors are also calming. There are also chairs that match the sofa and colors.

There is also a table conveniently located from the sofa and chairs. A note about window glass and raised windows. The curtains are automatic. This structure is the best part of a corner room! View to the west. Below you is Wakamiya Oji, the approach to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine.

The second torii gate of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine and behind it is a raised path called Dankatsu. These are the items I received as an Ikkyu Diamond membership benefit. Kamakura beer and Kamakura smoked nuts. Kinka cosmetics set from Hakuichi in Kanazawa. Gold leaf is used abundantly♡

Return to the entrance and check out the closet in the sanitary room. There is nothing special in the upper closet. The sterilizing and deodorizing spray is from the familiar Shimizu Kaori. Shoe polishers, shoe horns, and brushes hang in the closet. The security box is large enough to fit a laptop.

A basket was also provided. We used it as a changing basket. The slippers come in two colors, so you can avoid wearing them by mistake. It wasn’t the thick type, but it was the type with open toes. A baggage rack is also available.

There were three types of hangers available, and the quantity was perfect. This is Mako-chan’s comfortable trainer. Maybe you can see Mako-chan wearing it in the video? Around the desk in the living space. The color scheme is the same as the wood and sofa.

When I turned on the TV, a welcome screen with my name was displayed only for the first time. From the TV menu, the first floor restaurant “Café&Meal MUJI” is introduced and, you can also check the usage of laundry, Various video streaming services such as YouTube and NETFLIX were also available.

By the way, the Wi-Fi speed was 122Mbps for downloading and 148Mbps for uploading. Let’s also take a look at the desk. Coffee machine made by KEURIG. saw it for the first time! There were two potions each: Kilimanjaro and jasmine tea. Accessory case, tissue box, writing utensils.

This ballpoint pen, hotel logo, etc. were of no particular type. There was also an in-room telephone, power outlet, and USB port for charging. This is the case for the card key you received at check-in. It’s simple. When you open it, there are various things inside.

The card key has a design of ginkgo leaves, which are also planted at the hotel’s main entrance. Breakfast ticket for “Café&Meal MUJI”. Of course, we will also introduce you to the details of the breakfast! Let’s take a look inside this drawer. There was something inside. Let’s start by looking from the left!

Inside the file, information on rental items and services was closed. There was also a bag for laundry service and a price list. Letter sets with hotel logos, picture postcards, delivery slips, etc. The postcard shows the exterior of the hotel.

On the right side was a multi-charger for cell phones and smartphones, a standing light, and… a folding stand mirror. Next, let’s take a look inside this drawer. It contained glasses, mugs, tea, etc. Two Itoen green tea bags. Two hotel original drip coffees.

There was also a coaster with the Hotel Metropolitan logo on the glass. There are wine glasses, teapots, etc. in the drawer at the bottom. Tiger electric kettles are often found in hotels. Inside this door… as I expected, there was a storage room made by Dometic.

Inside were two bottles of free mineral water, pre-chilled. Let’s take a look at the bedside. First, start from the left side. This is the design of the reading light. The only control panel is the reading light and footlight. There was one power outlet and one USB port for charging right near the desk.

There was nothing special on this side desk. Next, let’s check the right side. Also a reading light. The operation panel can be used to control various lighting as well as curtains. Alarm clock made by Takata Lemnos. There was also one power outlet and one USB port for charging near this desk.

There was nothing special on this desk other than a clock. Above the headboard is an artwork inspired by Kamakura-bori. It’s stylish. Now, let’s take a look at the water area! Proof of a luxury hotel! It’s a double sink! Let’s take a look around the sink.

A face and hand soap with a very nice scent. Hand towels are also available right next to the sink. There is also a light switch for the bathroom on the wall. Beautiful faucets and cute colored cups. The sink is manufactured by DURAVIT in Germany.

Two bottles of mineral water were also provided in the bathroom. I’m so happy! There was also a tissue box in the center of the sink. The sink on the right has a similar set. Take a look at the drawer under the sink.

The amenities were packed tightly. Basically the left and right sides are the same. Kinka cosmetics set that I received as a bonus from Ikkyu Diamond. This room is limited. There’s also a steam eye mask that soothes your eyes from overuse from sightseeing. These are compression relaxing socks that are soothing for your feet.

There are also two types of bath salts with a nice scent that will soothe the fatigue of sightseeing. A skin care set from the Sekkisei MYV Actirise line was also available. Foldable hairbrush. A fairly sturdy, wide hairband. Cotton and cotton swabs. A set of toothbrush and toothpaste.

Thalgo’s La Mer series of bar soaps are popular at spas. This room is limited. Bath amenities from the La Mer series as well. I’m happy because I like Thalgo. What kind of hair dryer? Let’s check it out! Panasonic nanoe hair dryer. Vidal Sassoon 2way hair iron. This is the pink series.

There are lots of towels under the drawer. I asked in advance and they had plenty of it. There are also bathrobes that are extremely absorbent. When you look back from the sink, there is a bathroom. There is also a rack near the bathroom where you can keep your clothes, towels, etc.

Of course, bath mats are also provided. The bathroom with a window is a spacious size with a washing area. The width of the bathtub is like this. It’s not very spacious, but the area around the neck of the bathtub is recessed, so you can relax in it.

There is also a rain shower overhead. This is the switch for the rain shower. Metropolitan Hotels original bath amenities. It smells nice. hand shower. Surprisingly, the shower head was ReFa. The faucets are from Hansgrohe. Bath chairs and buckets are also provided from the beginning. You can wash it easily.

Inside this door on the left as soon as you enter the sanitary room is… There was a restroom. This type does not have a washbasin. The restrooms were also decorated with art that gave a Japanese feel. Toilet with tankless washlet made by TOTO.

There is also a handrail attached, which is nice to have when standing up. This concludes the room tour. What to see inside the hotel? I would like to introduce you to First of all, this is the rickshaw in the entrance hall.

When you enter, in front of you is an art wall depicting ginkgo biloba. In collaboration with Ebisuya, a rickshaw service is available from the hotel’s porte-cochere for sightseeing in Kamakura. If you are interested, please contact. I went up to the second floor. This courtyard is sure to catch your eye.

You can also go out onto the terrace from the lobby. If you go down the stairs from this terrace, you will arrive at the hotel’s driveway. A table and chairs were provided on the terrace. It’s also stylish to spend some time here.

Go back inside and head towards the lobby from the elevator hall. There is also a money exchange machine here. There is also a door to the guest room floor on the second floor, and the lobby is located in the back. This is the lobby lounge. Almost all the time, customers were relaxing.

An artwork inspired by cherry blossoms falling over Genji Pond at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. Books about temples, shrines, and culture originating from Kamakura were also placed in the lobby. The lobby is unified with colors that give you a sense of warmth. The large windows on one side give it an open feel.

This is the reception. There is also an artwork carved with ginkgo biloba at the back of the reception. There are towels and a coffee machine next to the reception. Although the hours are limited, you can enjoy free hot coffee. Elevator hall on the 5th floor where our room is located.

The shoji walls let in a gentle light. At both ends of the hallway, there are objects depicting Kamakura’s four seasons, “sea side” and “mountain side.” Is this the mountain side? There are different objects on each floor, so you’ll be curious about the other floors as well.

Before going to the hotel, I stopped by “Ramen Third Generation OKAWARI” for lunch. An illustration of the Kamakura Great Buddha at Kotoku-in Temple covers one wall. Strong impact! It is a small space with 14 seats including counter seats.

Chicken hot water 930 yen. The flavor was stronger than it looked, and the meat was tender and delicious. Well, I went out to eat dinner. I came to Kamakura Katsutei Arada Sohonten, which is relatively close to my hotel. Order and wait with excitement.

I’m happy to have a counter seat so I can see what’s going on in the kitchen. You are very skillful in putting on the costumes. It’s even more fun to watch them being fried. Pickles and cabbage. Free refills of cabbage. Blood orange dressing and ginger-flavored dressing.

This is the garlic miso cutlet set meal I ordered for 1,480 yen (excluding tax). By the way, the white rice is Koshihikari from Uonuma, Niigata Prefecture, and you can get any refills. The garlic miso and raw garlic were a nice accent and it was very delicious.

Fried horse mackerel 320 yen (excluding tax). It was also delicious. I’m back at the hotel. Another look at the exterior. I’m going to go back to my room and get some rest. good night…. good morning. It’s time for breakfast.

We will have breakfast at “Café & Meal MUJI” on the 1st floor of the hotel. As the name suggests, this restaurant is operated by MUJI. It seems that it used to be a set menu, but from September 2023 it seems that it will be offered in a full buffet style. Happy timing!

From the TV in the room, it looked crowded, but it was fairly empty. I was shown to my seat. Now, let’s go to the buffet table! First of all, Japanese-style consommé soup and Kenchin soup. And pork soup and pork bowl made with Kamakura seaweed pork. Both were very delicious.

The pork bowl is the type where you serve it yourself. Not spicy green curry and butter chicken curry. White rice. And what a gorgeous golden sea bream cooked rice. There were also rice accompaniments. Natto is also available. I love natto! There was also something called oboro tofu. Unsalted cough sausage.

Scrambled eggs and fries. Sauteed spinach and unsalted bacon. The opening of the golden sea bream that was being replenished. Sawara Saikyoyaki. Saikyoyaki is absolutely delicious. Boiled taro or boiled black beans. Boiled vegetables, fried turnip and ohitashi. Konnyaku white dressing and Kinpira burdock. There are two ovens for baking bread.

Of course we also have jam and butter. Let’s take a look at the bread section. A loaf of bread cut into quarters and a tea roll. Petit hoito, petit fruit. Petit beurre, baguette. I love that everything is cut into small pieces.

Let’s take a look at this counter where fruits and salads are lined up. Yogurt and fruit cocktail. We also have blueberry sauce and honey. Pineapples, oranges, pears, grapefruit, and Kyoho grapes. There was also pound cake and milk pudding. Sunny lettuce, handsome lettuce, mizuna. Corn, mixed grain rice, mixed beans, etc.

Cucumbers, paprika, wood ear mushrooms, sweet potatoes, okra, and cherry tomatoes. There were also whitebait, which you would expect from Kamakura. dressing, salt, pepper, and olive oil. This live kitchen serves minced tortillas made with Kamakura seaweed pork. Granola and flakes were also lined up next to it. Drink corner. First up is detox water.

Water, milk, apple juice, orange juice, Iced tea, iced coffee. And tea. There was also a coffee machine and hot water. These are the first meals I brought. I brought you a hot meal. They are all delicious. The salad was also delicious. This is butter chicken curry. The meat was a little tough.

Pork bowl made with Kamakura seaweed pork. It had a lot of flavor and was very delicious. We also had some fruit. Thank you for the meal! Thank you for the meal! behind, but it’s time to check out. What did you think of Hotel Metropolitan Kamakura?

    ・MUJI.cafe

    Ladies and gentlemen.
    This is Mako&Usk Travel.

How was the introduction video of Hotel Metropolitan Kamakura?
I hope it was helpful for you.
Your supportive comments and high evaluation will encourage us in the production of the video!

There is nothing in particular that we didn't convey in the video…but we would like to introduce a few points that may be of interest to you in the comments.

The windows are not privacy protected, so please be careful with your clothing when approaching the windows.
-> I was actually able to see everything from the outside.

MUJI cafe is affiliated with a hotel, but I think it is operated by Muji.
I think it is better not to expect too much from the taste because it is "Muji's food".
-> The food was not replenished promptly. I told them that we were out of stock and they didn't replenish for almost 10 minutes.
