Dazaifu Tenmangu shrine gate town in light rain We came to a Starbucks near the torii gate in Monzenmachi The design concept is a fusion of tradition and modernity using natural materials The building was designed by Kengo Kuma 6cm square cypress wood is used for the characteristic wooden frame

2,000 cypress trees used for walls and ceilings The building is 7.5m wide and 40m deep on a long and narrow site. Timber framing is continuous from interior to exterior Timber frame also supports building as bracing The three-dimensional facade is very interesting The hours of operation are as follows We went inside

Automatic door with door engine visible There is table seating on the street Goods are sold next to the counter We see inside a very long, narrow store There’s a window in the back We look around the store The seats on the right are sofas Art works are displayed on the wall

Seats on the left are for two You can see very clearly how the wooden structure is continuous to the approach road The corners of the square timbers have safety measures We continue to the back At the end of the hall there is a small garden with plum trees

We look back at the entrance There is a lot of wood structure on the ceiling of the auditorium There’s also a skylight that lets light in The lights are original with the same dimensions as the cypress wood We had refreshments This video is over〜
