Himeji Castle Main castle tower and 7 other buildings
Himeji Castle in Himeji City, Hyogo It is said to have originated from a small castle built by Sadanori Akamatsu in 1346. After that, castle lords such as the Kodera clan and the Kuroda clan took over. Hideyoshi also joined during the attack on Mori. The current castle was built by Terumasa Ikeda in 1608.
Even Terumasa, who was a master of castle construction, took eight years to complete. Four connecting corridors connect four castle towers arranged on all sides.
