Unveiling Suzhou, Jiangsu: The Hidden Gem Just 1 Hour from Shanghai
MIM where are we going going to suja M so we’ve just got a drone and although it’s a bit rainy and foggy today so probably can’t F fly it but we’re going to go and see I haven’t been to sujo yet and it’s running s Shanghai we’ve been here for 3
Years so let’s Go sujo is around an hour’s drive from s Jang District in Shanghai if you don’t have a car there are fast trains to sujo from Shanghai and now there’s even a metro before arriving in sujo we stopped off at D Guan Yuen in chingu District sujo is definitely close enough to Shanghai to do as a day trip but just like with hjo we wanted to make a little holiday of It they gave me hug and D ice cream little sprinkles on Top so this is our hotel hello uh we are staying in a mure this is my complimentary ice cream the Haren D when we came in normal benefits this one is the shower nice and big and the toilet of course fitted with a bedet normal normal they actually upgraded us
Hello um so we got a slightly bigger room with a slightly bigger bed this is a 1.8 m bed instead of 1.5 big screen although we don’t really watch it and hopefully it is a rather foggy day semi decent view of sujo after checking into the hotel we
Took a short walk to shant Tangier the ancient streets of Sujo so this is a very famous noodle place here in suo and as you walk in you can smell crab so the ladies that work in here are deshelling the crabs in the restaurant ready to serve with noodles F and amazing [Applause] Video What did you get that I got some Bing Tang Hulu if you’ve been following my channel for a while I really really like B Tang Hulu but it’s really unhealthy so I only treat myself a Chinese year so we have a strawberry one and one with
Porns it’s got like um sugar on the outside on his travels in China Marco Polo Called sujo Paradise in heaven and the canals reminded him of his home in Venice A popular snack here is fried Twisted dough they can be sweet or savory but they were well worth the cue After shant Tangier we headed to Tiger Hill a park with a stunning Temple entry is 60 R&B per person but unfortunately we arrived just before closing time so didn’t go Inside M we took the bus then Metro to Ping Jang Road in search of some Dinner m is trying to find us something to eat a special lamb dish that suj is special for and I I definitely want some meat I think I want some skewers so he’s trying to see if the L place also have skewers are you hungry yeah me
Too if you thought the small streets of sujo were beautiful they are even more picturesque in the evening here you can hire clothes and walk around for the day for around 100 R&B therefore there are loads of people dressed in traditional clothing which really add to the ambulance You So we are out it’s raining we left the umbrella in the Hotel cuz we didn’t know it was raining it’s not on the weather app but it’s Saturday night and we want to go get some drinks some cocktails or something so we’ve come to the bar Street and it’s completely dead there’s
Nobody here so we don’t know where to go because usually we judge like bars and stuff on how busy it is like if there are a lot of people it’s probably a good bar but there’s nobody around so is everywhere’s empty so we’re not sure where to go stay Tuned one of Moo’s favorite things to do whilst traveling is to find a relaxed bar where we can relax reflect on the trip and try some new local Flavors He We are off for brunch we’re in kind of like an industrial unit type of thing around G lake jingi lake um but we don’t really know where we’re going the branch place is called Cafe Mery Cafe Mery but we don’t know where it Is With the months until our wedding counting down we’re trying to be more mindful of the foods we are eating that means trying some less traditional foods for brunch in a quiet and calm Cafe [Applause] A So I wanted to take a video of the Heron or the Chinese Crane and I get down to take the video and mu goes and the bird flies away I was about to film it that’s not my phone how is that not your fault I thought he did
It behind me here you can see the symbol of sujo architecture but it’s foggy so you can’t see but trust me it’s here somewhere underwe look like underwe yeah I I’ll put a clip of it now that we took while we drove past but you should be able to see it
Here so we moved around a bit and you can kind of see it just here in Chinese means big underwear you can just see the bottom bit oh Dear
2 Days in Suzhou, Jiangsu: HEAVEN ON EARTH
Catch a glimpse of China’s heavenly beauty, just 1 hour away from the metropolis of Shanghai. We explore this hidden gem, referred to by Marco Polo as “Heaven on Earth” during his travels to Suzhou and the nearby city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang. This city truly lives up to its nickname as “Heaven on Earth.” Watch stunning drone footage and see locals in traditional Chinese clothing as we explore this breathtaking destination and dip into the tantalizing tastes the historic city has to offer. Don’t miss out on this must-visit spot for your next trip to China!
We wander the enchanting traditional streets and picturesque canals that reminded the Italian explorer of his home city of Venice. Hence, Suzhou is often referred to as The Venice of the East.
As part of our first real roadtrip in our new car, we drive through Qingpu district and make a stop at the scenic 大观园 garden park in Shanghai to fly our drone for the first time. The architectural wonder of the leaning pavilion and the pagodas, nestled between the numerous lakes of Qingpu and Suzhou were breathtaking. With its scenic lakes, stunning temples, and traditional Chinese clothes, this city truly is a breathtaking heaven on earth. Watch our drone footage and explore Suzhou with us!
With Chinese New Year and the year of the dragon approaching, now is THE PERFECT TIME to plan a trip to China. Don’t know where to go? Look no further!
Miu and I headed to Suzhou in the neighbouring Jiangsu Province for a relaxing weekend away. Just an hour from Shanghai, Suzhou is a popular day trip for Shanghai residents and tourists alike, it’s definitely on my list of must-see cities. Even Marco Polo thought the same!

A place frozen in time! 👍💟😋
Suzhou, Venice of China
"Just as there is paradise in heaven, there are Suzhou and Hangzhou on earth." I don't know if there's a better version of English translation for the old Chinese saying ‘’
thank you for making another loverly video! I have been suzhou many many times, but your video still bring a lot of fun!!
Suzhou it's amazing! thank you for sharing!
Suzhou was a big city in ancient China when Shanghai was a fishing village. Even today most of Shanghai “local” original from Suzhou and ningbo, after 1980s , north and northeast people moved to Shanghai
My hometown😂
Cute natt.❤❤❤
Very beautifully shot video.👍👍👍
Thanks for the walkaround.
I am married to a chinese woman, and we try to go to China as often as we can (which usually only becomes every 2-4th year).
We will definately think about going to Suzhou the next time.
great!guys
Where Marco Polo brought back to Italy and wanted a same water city built like this, plus the Doge’s hat 🎩
suzhou is my favorite city in china, i highly recommend visiting suzhou museum as well, it's designed by the late great IM Pei.
Great that you have shown us some beautiful sights of Suzhou. It may be good to explain why Suzhou and Hangzhou were known as the heaven on earth since the Song Dynasty. It was probably to do with the abundance of food, distance away from barbarian disturbances, freedom from natural disasters, mild weather, production of silk, deep culture and an abundance of educated people, big mansions of the super rich with amazing landscaping, and of course the 小桥流水美佳人,small bridges over running waters and the beautiful women. You see, the Chinese are a contented lot that doesn’t need to conquer the world. Else, we might have missed the gist of it all.
The essence of Suzhou is the gardens! Huge miss if you didn’t visit some😢
great view!
There was a general belief that after Mongols finally captured southern China with 80 years siege, they enjoyed so much of the good whether, nice scenario, wonderful cuisine and beautiful architecture built by southern song, they lost their fighting urge and conquering desire and not for too long they got overthrown by Han Chinese just after 79 years😀
Beautiful video.
Love Suzhou!
Jiangsu province 江蘇省 used to be the Wu Kingdom 吳國 and Zhejiang province 浙江省 used to be the Yue Kingdom 越國。The Wu-Yue Contention 吳越之爭 is a famous part of history where one of the Four Great Chinese Beauties Xi Shi 西施 was sent to the Wu Kingdom by the Yue Kingdom 勾踐 King Goujian (臥薪嘗膽) to bring the demise of the Wu Kingdom. My sister-in-law is from Jiangsu province. My husband’s home province is Zhejiang province. We visited many places in these ancient cities a few years ago, especially seeing a lake where Xi Shi 西施and Fan Li 範蠡 used to fish. Hangzhou is the capital of Zhejiang province. Nanjing is the capital of Ming Dynasty and Republic of China and the capital city of Jiangsu province, but Suzhou is a famous city of Jiangsu province. Jiangnan or South of Yangtze River is called Yue 越。So Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces are called Wu Yue 吳越。Fujian province is called Min Yue 閩越 where the Southern Min dialect 閩南話spoken in Taiwan province originated. Guangdong and Guangxi provinces are called Nanyue南越,where the Qin Dynasty general Zhao Tuo 秦朝的將軍趙佗 established the Nanyue Kingdom, which also included the Trieu Dynasty of Vietnam 越南的趙朝. Rice noodle was invented during that time when the Qin soldiers missed noodles from the north, and used rice plentiful in the wet south to make rice noodles. So rice noodles fen in Mandarin, fun in Cantonese and pho in Vietnamese, is not “Vietnamese” but Chinese. Guangzhou where I was born, the capital city of Guangdong province used to be the capital of the Nanyue Kingdom. Vietnam 越南 Yue Nan in Mandarin, reverses the two characters of Nan Yue Kingdom 南越古國to get their country name. The Nan Yue King Mausoleum is still in Guangzhou, a famous archaeological site. The Cantonese appellation 粵 Yue is a homophone of 越 Yue. While my husband’s relatives in Zhejiang province enjoy Yue Opera 越劇,my Cantonese ancestors in Guangdong enjoy Yue Opera Cantonese Opera. So Jiangnan 江南=Yue 越。
There is a Huntington Library in Los Angeles County San Marino City 5 minutes drive from my house here. There is a Chinese Garden there built with material made in Suzhou replicating the Suzhou style Garden House
I often went to these places when I was in Suzhou University. It's a wonderful memory!
glad you love my hometown.if anyone wants to visit it,remember this city is rainy, you can barely see the sunshine😂
I love those houses along the canal fronts, if only i could afford to live in one for an extended holiday, Suzhou is a beautiful place. This is such a lovely well edited enjoyable video.

January is the driest month, yet it is rainy. Can't image the other months. And visiblity was quite low too.
It had been sai dhere R many pretty girls in Su Chou. There is a bone a Chinese proverb Past Su Choi one will not find a preetygirl.
so western media says, China is not safe to travel?
Love that you persevered in the rain; it might have dampened your day but was great viewing for armchair travellers like me. By the way, your new toy made some great aerial shots.
Interested to know if you had to register your flight as you now have to do in city areas in Shanghai and Zhejiang (fellow droner in Shanghai). Cheers
The bird was a Little Egret BTW 😉
I love your filming style! And suzhou looks beautiful, I'm planning to go togo back to china 2025 and suzhou is 100% on my list
