[グルメ旅行] 富山で行くべき寿司屋はどこ!? ローカル寿司8軒食べ比べ!

The weekend before Christmas. I took the 8:43 a.m. limited express Hida from Nagoya Station to Toyama. I was supposed to catch the 7:00 bus, but when I woke up at that time. Let’s head for Toyama, regretting the waste of the additional 7,000 yen train fare. Lol

Departure for Toyama, a trip of about 4 hours! This train goes in the opposite direction until Gifu. The direction of travel changes at Gifu, but I’m not used to facing the opposite direction.

Snowy landscape so beautiful that I can see it all day. This visit aims to find my favorite conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Toyama, which is said to be the best Sushi place. I’ll be back tomorrow at 2:00 p.m., so my stay will be 26 hours.

I’m planning to go to 7 places, but let’s see how it goes. Arrived at Toyama Station! It is now 12:42 pm. My sushi tour starts now! First, pick up a rental car, my travel buddy. Let’s head to the first restaurant! The first restaurant is a 10-minute drive from Toyama station.

I’m starving and ready for Sushi! It is amazing to see the Tateyama mountain range from the city! Arrived in no time! The first restaurant is Himi Kaitenzushi “Iki Zushi.” This place seems to be a bit on the expensive conveyor-belt sushi.

I want to eat a variety of Sushi, but I decided to order mainly sushi using local products. Now my sushi-filled Christmas was revealed. lol There are 13 different types of plates ranging from 143 yen to 1,210 yen per plate.

I ordered mainly local fish. Cold yellowtail at this time of year is not to be missed! Let’s start with a thin-lipped grey mullet. They say it’s a little bigger than a leatherfish and tastes lighter. The flavor is light, but it is fresh, resilient, and tasty!

Next, the black sea bream. It has a moist texture, but also has elasticity. The moderate fat and the sweetness unique to seabream are exquisite! Himi cold yellowtail, I was looking forward to it! It was tender yet pleasantly crunchy and had just the right amount of fat! No smell, and so tasty!

The main dish of the day is winter yellowtail fatty tuna! I wondered if I should take grated radish but kept it. It’s melt-in-the-mouth softness and mild flavor spread to the mouth when I bite into it. The fat is not too greasy, and this is a fascinating one!

Natural bluefin medium fatty tuna has a smooth texture but feels a little stringy. The fat has a sweet taste and is sophisticated and luxurious. The Japanese savory egg custard is packed with ingredients but has a gentle taste like egg tofu. The added horse mackerel is tasty, thick, and resilient but odorless!

The homemade simmered conger eel was a little crispy in the seared part, but the flavor was enhanced, fluffy, and tasty in the mouth! The first restaurant was even better than I expected, and my expectations for this trip were raised! Next, let’s go to Kitokito sushi, located 2 minutes from the first sushi restaurant.

I arrived at Kitokito Sushi! This place seems to be an affordable conveyor-belt sushi. The design is unique, and I couldn’t help filming this cup. Japanese savory egg custard arrived first! It was less flavorful and at a ready-to-eat temperature than the previous one.

The price is more reasonable than earlier! It looks smooth, although it doesn’t look natural. It’s delicious and not stringy! I like this medium-fatty tuna better than the previous one! Orders arrived one after another! I ordered similar dishes so that I could compare the tastes.

The cold yellowtail was a little smelly, perhaps because of the many blood-like parts. The winter yellowtail is tasty, but the fatty is a little too much. The horse mackerel was thick and resilient, but I smelled the unique smell of blue fish.

It was challenging to adjust the soy sauce jug, so I couldn’t help putting a lot of soy sauce on Daimyo Gunkan. The taste of herring roe was so strong that it was hard to taste the other flavors. The simmered whole conger eel was soft but not fluffy. Lastly, I ordered the black seabream.

The price was reasonable. Thank you for the meal! It is now 2:30 pm. I’m getting full, but on to the next restaurant. The third restaurant is Sushi Tama, which impressed me with the taste of grilled conger eel the last time I came here.

Today’s specials include Ishikawa winter yellowtail and winter yellowtail fatty tuna! The winter yellowtail fatty tuna was sold out when I tried to order. Too bad. My orders came almost at the same time. I wanted soupy because of all the sushi I’ve been eating, so I ordered a miso soup!

It was not winter yellowtail, but there was yellowtail fatty tuna, so I decided to have it. The fish is thick but not greasy, melt-in-the-mouth delicious! The horse mackerel is also elastic and tasty, with a unique flavor and sweetness. Rockfish is nicely fatty and has an elegant taste.

The winter yellowtail is also amazingly tasty! Delicious as always! The savory Japanese egg custard has a broth and many ingredients, but it tastes a little sweet. I take a little bit of simmered conger eel without dipping it.

It’s delicious, but I prefer grilled conger eel to It’s delicious, but I prefer grilled conger eel to simmered one. And I wanted to have a grilled one, so I also ordered it. I wasn’t impressed like the last time I had it, but it was delicious! Thanks for the meal!

I was supposed to be full and unable to eat anything, but I came here on my way. And what’s more, these are small but double. lol! I can’t eat anymore, so let’s head to the hotel to check-in. Today’s hotel is Oyado Nono, an affiliate of Dormy Inn.

I left my luggage in my room and strolled around the area. I found a place that looked like fun right away! It looks like a place called Grand Plaza. Walking a little further, I went to the Toyama City Museum of Glass Art in the same building as the library.

Right at the entrance, there is a wooden playground equipment called the forest coaster! I can watch things that move in tricks all the time. The exhibits at the Glass Museum I visited afterward were beautiful, and I was fascinated by them.

I strolled around the shopping street; it was already just before 7:00 p.m. I’m getting hungry, let’s head to the next restaurant. Strange, I thought I couldn’t eat sushi anymore. I arrived at the fourth sushi restaurant! The fourth restaurant was Banya no Sushi, which my friend from Toyama told me about.

Although the ingredients are large, the price is reasonable. They were out of winter yellowtail, so it was farm-raised yellowtail, but the fish was big and tasty! The horse mackerel was large, but I couldn’t help but notice a little bit of the smell characteristic of blue fish.

The cuttlefish is ok, and the shiso leaves are a lovely accent. The savory Japanese egg custard here is smooth and simple. No ingredients, but the flavor was just right, so it didn’t feel like egg tofu. Other stuff arrived as well! Overall, it is more reasonably priced than other stores.

The simmered conger eel is soft, flavorful, and tasty with little sauce! Thread-sail filefish with liver and rockfish are also moderately fatty and delicious! The yellowtail fatty tuna felt slightly heavy, and the medium fatty bluefin tuna was stringy.

Still, overall, the sushi was delicious, and this is a great sushi restaurant in terms of cosmopolitanism! It’s hard to keep eating the same kind of stuff from 4 different restaurants. lol But I wanted to go to one more restaurant, so I went to Kaiten zushi Sushi Torafugu.

I passed by it once because it’s a little secluded. Sushi restaurant with a name reminiscent of Torafugu Tei and a pop picture of a blowfish. They didn’t have regular savory Japanese egg custard, so I ordered the one with gorgeous seafood. LOL!

I ordered the Himi winter yellowtail and the Himi fatty winter yellowtail. Like Iki Sushi, it is a little expensive. Start with savory Japanese egg custard. This is the best so far! The soup stock is so good, it doesn’t feel like egg tofu.

The conger eel sushi is delicious and fluffy with just the right savory flavor! I was torn between Iki Sushi and Sushitama, but they are so good that it’s hard to choose between the two! The cuttlefish was smooth and uniquely sweet. I wonder if it’s because of the incision?

The horse mackerel is resilient and delicious, with a unique flavor and sweetness like Sushitama’s. Himi winter yellowtail has fat like fatty winter yellowtail and is a little heavy. On the other hand, fatty winter yellowtail was less fatty and tastier! medium fatty bluefin tuna feels melted and has a unique sweetness without feeling stringy.

The medium fatty tuna was so good that I also ordered bluefin tuna. Bluefin tuna was tender, and I could enjoy the flavor fully. Thank you for the meal! I’m suffering from too much sushi, but it’s only 9pm. Let’s go for a walk near the hotel!

I head to Soei Street, where the color of the lights and the signage are undeniably suspicious. About 2 minutes further on, I found OR BAR! I was curious about the announcement that the master would work 27 consecutive days during the year-end and New Year’s holidays, so I went inside.

A cozy bar with stylish objects and many CDs. A warm and friendly master who looks scary at first glance but is actually a music lover. There are many kinds of bourbon, but he also serves a wide variety of other liquors. I enjoyed talking with him a lot.

It’s 8 o’clock when I wake up! Let’s get ready to go out! I held out for breakfast and checked out of the hotel. The destination is Shinminato Kitto Kito Market, a 30-minute drive away! There are so many containers, it’s kind of exciting. The market is starting to come into view!

9:30 am. Arrive at Shinminato Kitto Kito Market. Let’s go inside! Maybe I came too early, but the stores are getting ready. It’s small, but there are so many things I’d like to buy. They do sell white shrimp soft cream served at the specialty stores,

I haven’t had breakfast yet, so I’ll hold off here. The long-awaited beach-boiled red snow crabs began to be displayed at 10:00! Since I was impressed by the delicious red snow crab I received as a tax return gift, I have loved it.

I am not a fan of crab paste, but the red snow crab has such a mild taste that I could eat the whole thing! The store owner selected a crab with a firm filling, Using Christmas as an excuse, I bought one as a souvenir! I will have it for dinner tonight.

I wanted to eat here but held back and went to the next place. I’m going through Shin-Minato Ohashi Bridge, a different road from the one I came in on. I passed by without knowing it, but it offers a panoramic view of the Tateyama mountain range! It’s so beautiful!

Heading out to enjoy the view is, of course, the conveyor belt sushi. Slowly enjoy the view since the restaurant opens at 11:00 a.m.! It is now 11:06 am. I’ve arrived at Sushi Kuine! Familiar sushi items arrived one after another!

The color of the horse mackerel is bright and beautiful! Natural sea bream here has skin on! The winter yellowtail also looks delicious with fatty! The grilled conger eel could have been a little fluffier. The horse mackerel is the most delicious; it’s not with ginger but not smelly!

The red snapper is delicious with just the right sweetness, but I’d like to see a little more elasticity. The savory Japanese egg custard was a little hot and tasted the best with the egg flavor and the dashi broth! To fully savor the winter yellowtail, I will omit the grated daikon.

The blood portion was the most abundant but delicious without any odor or distinctive flavor! To taste Noto fatty winter yellowtail as well, I also omit the grated daikon. The fat is not at all greasy, yet it melts well, and its delicious flavor fills the mouth!

The medium fatty bluefin tuna has no streaks and melts in the mouth with a unique sweetness and flavor. Sweet sauce for grilled conger eel is a small portion type. It had the unique savory flavor of being seared, but was a little tough. Thank you for the meal!

I was thinking of going to a sushi restaurant in front of the station and that would be the end of it, I heard the name of the sushi restaurant I was curious about from some locals. I thought I had to go, so I hurriedly headed there.

I arrived at Tachigui-Sushi Jinjin, near the Daiwa Toyama department store. Let’s go inside for sushi, which is not a conveyor belt! It seems to be affiliated with the Michelin-starred restaurant “Sushi Jin.” I’m sure I can’t finish the course, so I ordered a la carte. First, I ordered the recommended fried horse mackerel.

Hot and crispy size. It’s delicious but slightly different than I imagined because of the strong spice taste. The savory Japanese egg custard served with plum paste. I have never tasted this before. The plum gives it just the right amount of refreshment. I ordered the same sushi items.

I start with the red snapper. The soy sauce was not enough, but I enjoyed the ingredients. I felt a lingering taste of the fish in my mouth for a while. Next is the yellowtail. Following the red snapper, taste the ingredients to the fullest.

Next is the fatty winter yellowtail—the sweetness and deliciousness of the fat spreading throughout the mouth. Next is the bluefin medium fatty tuna. As expected from a sushi restaurant, it is delicious! Simmered conger eel also arrived! It is fluffy and melts delicately in the mouth. Sail filefish with liver roll recommended by the restaurant.

The flavor and texture of the seaweed was so good that I was distracted by it. Total cost for the two of us was 18,900 yen. Thank you for the meal! In no time at all, I had two more hours to stay! Let’s go return the rental car.

One last restaurant! So, I went to Kaiten Toyama Sushi in front of the station! Again, I ordered the familiar items! Impression of medium fatty bluefin tuna is challenging to feel the goodness of it. The red snapper was also a little dry rather than moist.

The winter yellowtail had a peculiar elasticity but felt a little watery. I felt that fatty winter yellowtail was a bit expensive, considering the price. Once here, I’ll have a savory Japanese egg custard. Perhaps it is because it contains shiitake mushrooms, but the soup stock is well seasoned and delicious!

Grilled conger eel to finish off the meal! I wanted more to meet this price! Thanks for the meal! 2-day and 1-night Toyama conveyor-belt sushi tour trip is almost over! It was grueling from the 4th house because I kept eating the same stuff.

It was interesting because each restaurant had a completely different taste! It seems that I can buy seafood at Kani Kaisen Wholesale Fish Restaurant Uodontei! They also sell fresh red snow crab! I wanted to buy one, but I bought one at the market. I have favorite conveyor-belt sushi restaurants in Fukui and Kanazawa,

I went on a conveyor belt sushi tour to find some in Toyama, but the amount of conveyor belt sushi in Toyama was more than I had imagined. Summary of this tour. Toyama’s conveyor-belt sushi is good enough and satisfying enough! Personally, I was most satisfied with Sushi Kuine!

The prices were in the middle of what I went for this time, but the stuff was delicious! However, it is difficult to get there without a car, For conveyor-belt sushi near the station, I recommend Sushi Tama! It’s a little expensive, but delicious! I’m full and getting sleepy. Let’s get some sleep.

1泊2日、滞在時間25時間で寿司屋8軒、同じネタを食べ続けると、なかなかワイルドな旅でしたが、お店によって全然味が違うので、今となっては楽しい思い出となりました。笑

富山から戻ってきて何回かお寿司を食べましたが、全然違うのでまた近々食べに行きたいと思っています。笑
