4K Walking Tour Similan Island. BEST island in the world. Thailand 2024
Hello guys. Today we are traveling to Similan Islands National Park. The departure pier is located in a neighboring province 84 km from Phuket, so prepare for an early rise. The cost of the tour is 3,000 baht per person. Swimming mask, towel and fins are provided free of charge.
Flippers must be obtained before going out to sea, the rest is on board. The obligatory fitting and off you go. This tour runs from October 15 to May 15, it is not available in summer due to rough seas. Simlan National Park is very popular among tourists.
First of all, there are very beautiful beaches with white sand and water of extraordinary color. Secondly, there are sea turtles. And third is the Sailboat rock Instagram viewpoint, which we’ll visit at the end. Travel time is one hour and twenty minutes. First stop for snorkeling. The archipelago has 11 islands.
In the Jawi language, the name of the archipelago means “nine,” and in 1998, two more islands were added. No turtles have been spotted on this spot( All transfers between islands take 5-8 minutes. Island number four. Only 2 islands are usually visited as part of 1-day excursions, islands 4 and 8.
Snorkeling is usually near islands 7 and 9, and the others are closed to the public. The water is an insanely beautiful color and so disposes to conduct a photo shoot here. The beach we landed on is congested with boats, but there is a great alternative.
The journey to the other side of the island takes less than 8 minutes. Huge crabs can be found in the quiet jungles. This handsome fellow is the size of a young coconut. In fact, the trail only took 5 minutes. Boats also come to this beach, but in much smaller numbers.
The trees overhanging the surf line add a special atmosphere to the place. Right near the shore you can swim with flocks of fish. In all the time spent on this beach, only one speedboat docked. There’s a lunch on this island where we’re headed. Guides call tourists calling the colors of your bracelets,
sometimes the colors are the same in different groups, remember your guide) The main “living attraction” of the archipelago is the giant turtles, and today we will finally see them. All that remains is to have lunch and move on. We grab a lunch box, pick a broth, and enjoy.
There are showers and toilets too. At 13:00 we need to get back on the boat, so it’s worth keeping an eye on the time. Island 7 (snorkeling spot 2). One member of our group spotted a turtle 100-150 meters from the boat.
It is quite difficult to spot as it blends in strongly with the seabed. Wildlife conservation is another reason why some islands are inaccessible. Unlike other popular sea excursions on the Similans there are no limestone mountains or kartze deposits, but the shores of these islands are decorated with massive boulders.
Next stop, Island 8 (Sail Rock). At the entrance to the bay you are greeted by a stone reminiscent of the symbol of the Similans, namely the turtle. This view is known to many as it is the most Instagrammed spot in the national park.
We were unspeakably lucky and encountered another turtle, and very close to the busy beach. If you don’t see a lot of boats around it’s a signal to head to the viewpoint as soon as possible. The stabilizer broke at this point, I apologize for the shaky movie.
The island has an area with tables and benches, showers and toilets, and a smoking area. In addition, there are various animals living here. Nicobar pigeon (Caloenas nicobarica) It is the only living member of the genus Caloenas, and is also the closest living relative of the extinct dodo and Rodriguez solitaire.
Of course, it’s rare for any island in Thailand to be without varans. The climb up to the viewpoint takes a maximum of 10 minutes. Below was the fork for the viewpoint entrance, I went in from the exit) From the top, there are great views of the bays and neighboring islands.
Due to the popularity of the tour you will have to wait in line for the best photo spots. Use extreme caution, there are no fences here. At the top, all people turn into photographers) After the main mission of getting photos for social networks is completed, you can enjoy the beach.
You can swim on different sides of the beach, boats moor in the middle. It turned out to be not so easy to climb onto this stone.
Hello, friends.
Today we’re off to Similan Islands National Park.
A walking tour of the picturesque islands of the Andaman Sea awaits us.
You can only get to the islands as part of a tour for 6 months of the year, so it’s worth doing as soon as you’re in Thailand.
There is almost no bad weather on the Similan, and all because the islands are small enough and rain clouds do not stay there for long.
Gorgeous views, turquoise-colored water, white sand and exotic rare animals are what the national park offers to view, and of course if you are especially lucky swimming with sea turtles.
Let’s take a look at this unique place together)
