🇮🇳インドに行きたくなる?45分動画 8日間旅総集編:デリー、アーグラ、オーランガバード A digest of 8 days trip to India

My friend, where are you going today? I don’t know You don’t know? 9 hours from Haneda. The city of Delhi is in sight. Indira Gandhi International Airport Let’s go and get culture shock in India! We’re going to take the metro to Delhi city center. Exit from the metro station

Coming in front of the New Delhi station of the National Railways I’ve heard that you should never follow anyone who talks to you here. Are you Korean? I’m BTS. BTS has not penetrated in India? This is the New Delhi station of the national railway system

Beyond the station, there are back packer’s hotels When tourists are walking along, I heard someone says “The overpass is closed today. You have to take a tuk-tuk to get there,” and so on. I heard that many travelers are ripped off here After all we go to the other side without any problem.

I found out later that this guy who first approached us was a bad guy He was actually a famous scammer. This is the destination for tonight, Main Bazaar. This is a dirty version of Khao San Road in Bangkok We’re going to stay at the world famous Sheraton Hotel! What? This is it?

Sheraton is never this shabby When I looked closely, I found it’s not the “Sheraton”. It was “Shelton”. I was shown to my room and it had a double bed. I booked it on Booking.com. It’s supposed to be a twin… Okay. no problem

I ended up adding 1000 rupees and got a room with two beds for 3070 rupees Everest Cafe Go to rooftop bar for dinner In India, there are few places where you can drink alcohol. This beer seems to have been bought outside. Chicken curry Curry in India is very delicious.

2nd day in India Today we take the train from Delhi to Agra where the Taj Mahal is located. There were cows in the streets of the capital Is this a domesticated animal? Is this a stray cow? So this is really what India is like.

Hazrat Nizamuddin station. If it were in Tokyo, it’s supposed to be like Shinjuku or Shinagawa station. Not like a station town We take a break in the waiting room Suddenly a young man comes up to me He wants to take a picture with me. Why? Some people sleep on the platform.

We’re going to get on first class… Here? Is this first class? This is second class First class was not here First class is here When we entered the room, some boys talked to us We are helpers. If you need me… Can I buy a beer? No sir

The train start to move very slowly Boys keep watching us I don’t know why but they want to take a picture with me I’m popular in India!!! Indian train’s doors open while running. Train arrives at 16:00, two hours late Where are you going? The tuk-tuk driver approached me right away.

They say there are a lot of rip-offs… Where are you going? I was wary of this man. He offered 150 rupees to the inn in downtown Agra It was reasonable price. I decided to take this man’s Tuk-tuk Hotel is near Taj Mahal

Hotel Saniya Palace Hotel Saniya Palace 00:07:14,032 –> 00:07:17,502 The bed is a double bed which we refused last night As the train was delayed, we gave up seeing the Taj Mahal on this day. The man who took us to the hotel says there is a sunset spot of the Taj Mahal.

So that’s the Taj Mahal. Taj View Point ADA , Taj View Point ADA Entrance fee is 300 rupees (about 540 yen). Sunset is this direction. I thought the sunset was going to fall on the Taj Mahal.

We went to the restaurant of the hotel where we’re staying 00:07:52,572 –> 00:07:56,209 This restaurant has a good view of the Taj Mahal. Hotel Saniya Palace 87 00:08:00,876 –> 00:08:02,945 When I tried to take a shower in the hotel No hot water I complain to the hotel staff

He said “You only get hot water in the winter” as if it was a usual matter It’s just before 6:00 a.m. 3rd day in India Walking from the hotel to see Taj Mahal at sunrise. A long line in front of the gate of Taj Mahal I managed to get through the gate.

After this, all hell breaks loose. As I had a bag,I had to put my bag through the inspection device. It was difficult just to approach the machine And then the staff opens the bag and checks what’s inside. It takes a long time. Finally, we are inside the Taj Mahal.

The sun is just rising. In India 80% of the people are Hindus now However the Mughal Empire was an Islamic dynasty. Taj Mahal is Islamic style No video or photos are allowed inside the building What is he doing? If you move the camera closer to the puddle It looks like this

Looks good, doesn’t it? But I ended up paying him 100 rupees. We rested for a while at the hotel. I’m going to take a tuk-tuk now. The driver is the guy I met at Agra station the day before. Mr.Ali. We go to Fatehpur Sikri first.

The fare is 1200 rupees round trip Median strip is in a state of dumping Puddles on the road… It’s some kind of humpy puddle… Ali “india” Ali: “This is the real India” Shortly after I was amazed at the puddles, now the garbage is on fire Now we’re on an unpaved road

I think we’re coming up to Fatehpur Sikri Then Ali says In Fatehpur Seeking The guides are all Yakuza(gangster) When we get to the parking lot, there’s a really scary-looking guy They’re having some conversation. Because he said earlier “The guides are Yakuza” I thought he’d driven him away. Ali, what’s going on?

He’s a Yakuza, isn’t he? He’s not a Yakuza. Because he has a license. 500 rupees (about 800 yen) for two people is cheap. There is something wrong with the man He’s not a Yakuza. My friend “I don’t need a guide.”

If you don’t have a guide, you can’t get in. He said something like, “You don’t need a guide. I had no choice but to hire a guide. The actual guide is a good-looking old man. The guide says, “Listen first. And then, you can take pictures.” I was told so…

But I can get those information in the book. I want to FEEL the ruins. So, according to the book Fatehpur Sikri is older than the Taj Mahal. The third emperor of the Mughal Empire built the fortified city in the 16th century

The emperor had no heir for a long time. He built this castle to commemorate the birth of a prince. The city was built with just an idea of the king, but It is too big Punch Mahal It is five-story building Built on pillars because the king went there to take air

It is called the Air Palace. This is Buddhist architecture. Indian guide was not a “yakuza” and explaining enthusiastically However his accent is strong and it is hard to listening to it So, you know, I didn’t need a guide…

This is the mausoleum of the saint who foretold that the emperor would have a prince Is a hat required for Islamic manners? We are told to put on a basket as a substitute. Nice hat. You too. After the tour I interrogated the the tuk-tuk driver You said the guides are Yakuza

I told you, Fatehpur Seacree’s parking lot At Fatehpur Seekri many many guides Yakuza That’s why I told him not to hire a guide. Do you understand? But you recommended me to hire a guide. You said “Ali, he is a nice guy or a bad guy?”

(because he was there) That’s why I said, “He’s a nice guy.” I said that before “Don’t hire a guide” But you didn’t say so clearly Well, let’s let bygones be bygones. I can have a beer for lunch. I told him to go to a restaurant where we can have beer

Here we are. Please don’t talk here. Since you are a foreigner the price will go up This is a liquor store There is no restaurant that has liquor. So we have to buy it here and bring it in. I buy 2 bottles of beer (500ml) for 140 rupees.

At the next store, I buy a bottle of whiskey for the man How did I end up buying the man’s whiskey? By the man’s logic, the beer you order at the restaurant is very expensive.

If you buy a beer at a liquor store, it’s cheaper in total even if you buy whisky for him. Wow. What a logic! He brought me to a restaurant. The man talked to the restaurant and we could bring alcohol. It was a world heritage site tour full of mysteries

I was in my room at night, drying my laundry… Suddenly the power goes out Downpour of rain falls on courtyard The whole city seems to be without power The power came back on eventually Anything can happen in India

Fourth day of travel in India Taj Mahal can be seen clearly from the restaurant of the hotel we stayed. Breakfast set menu at the hotel Monkeys are on a nearby building Then we’re going to go sightseeing. The driver today is Ali, the same as yesterday. I’m leaving Agra today on the evening train.

Until then, I’m going to visit Agra Castle and other places in the city. Agra Castle Entrance fee is 650 rupees (about 1170 yen) This place was built by the 3rd Mughal emperor in 1565. If you look through this window, you can see The Taj Mahal.

Third emperor built the Agra Castle. It was the 5th emperor who built the Taj Mahal. The 5th emperor was forced out of his position by his son, the 6th emperor, and he was imprisoned in this tower for 8 years. And he took us to a poor area.

Hang out here and come back. OK? People would say “What the hell are you doing here?” There’s a bunch of kids coming out of the house. This seems to be a temple. I don’t know why but they welcome me A lot of children have gathered here.

We had some time before the train departed. Ali says let’s go to a local bar. Hotel Tourists Bar & Resturant I think there is a bar like this in the U.S.A. I’ve met children and it was so heartwarming… But I’m going to drink beer from early evening

I bought Ali a cup of ” barley tea” Ali is actually a Muslim. So “he doesn’t drink alcohol” Come back to India, see you again. Don’t forget about me. So we’re about 1,000 kilometers south of here. We’re going to a town called Aurangabad. Aurangabad is a town near Mumbai

It takes about 18 hours by train We are going to take Sachkhand Express, a first class sleeping car. The fare is 5,000 rupees (about 9,000 yen) per person Departure is after 3:00 p.m., but there’s a delay, it’s 4:00 p.m. now. A train has just arrived The train has started to move, but

Some people are getting off the train Some people get on Indian railroads are easygoing Nearly 3 hours behind schedule the train arrived before 6:00 p.m. Oh my, a man get off from the platform I was a little surprised 2 hours and 42 minutes late. Sachkhand Express is here.

After a while, the train started moving. We are now going to Aurangabad. 1000 km, 18 hours journey begins. This is the first class compartment Let’s take a look inside the car The toilet is very normal for first class (No paper!) The other side of the toilet is a shower room

There’s a water heater, but no hot water I took a cold shower later. The car in the direction of travel was locked, so I couldn’t get to it. No air conditioning in this direction. Cheapest sleeping car On the other hand, in the opposite direction, there is one rank lower 2A

2A is not a private room but a bunk bed structure separated by a curtain Air conditioner is working well Back to the first class I drink Japanese wine People in the next compartment are praying I think you can hear them praying because the train stopped now.

Dinner is a boxed lunch for 150 rupees at the station. When I went outside, I saw two men standing in front of the next compartment Is the room too small? There were four of them inside. The others are coming from the next car. Are you Muslims? No, we are Sikhs.

So you were praying earlier. When the train get to a station… Someone suddenly boarded the train Looks like a dinner delivery. On the Indian railroads, you can book food online. Would you like to try? I’ve already had… Your wife is beautiful. Day 5 of trip to India It is 6:30 a.m.

While sleeping, the air conditioner was too strong The train was stopped at a station. There were couple of the next compartment. They were wearing turbans. By the way, Japanese people believe that every Indian wear turban but only Sikhs wear

The train still doesn’t seem to be moving, so I go down to the station. There are kids coming out from under the train car. I’m going to step outside the station for a minute. The sun is just about to rise.

It’s a mysterious country town where loud music is played early in the morning Huh? Are we leaving now? It finally started running The sun is rising A wonderful view unique to train travel. Train approaching the canyon This is probably the Narmada River The latest operation status is available on the Indian Railways website.

Train delayed 7 hours It’s just after 9:00 a.m. We were supposed to be in Aurangabad by now. I see a big lake. The map showed it as the Narmada River. Is there such a big river? Stop at some station around noon My friend eat bread and biryani bought at station Salty and delicious

50 rupees There are huge plains in India, but there is a mountain like the Grand Canyon. The long history of the Indian subcontinent The sun is setting I saw both sunrise and sunset on the car today Looks like we’re finally entering the city of Aurangabad

The ride was supposed to last 18 hours. But it ended up being a 24-hour ride. Arrived 9 hours late VITS Aurangabad. Hotel for tonight Check in and immediately go to a nearby restaurant The sleeper train trip was pretty good, but

We should have expected it to be very late. That’s the lesson I learned this time. Travel in India Day 6 Just before 6:00 a.m. The tuk-tuk driver we met last night came to the hotel. But it’s not a tuk-tuk that I’m riding Today we are taking a cab. It’s a Suzuki, Japanese car!

World Heritage Ajanta Caves is 100km away When we arrived at the parking lot of Ajanta, some men from souvenir stores approached us. A man says he has a friend in Nara, Japan The business card says “his friend” is the head of Todaiji, one of the most famous temple in Japan.

Do you know him? I don’t know😅 A short bus ride to the Grottoes This man is singing a Japanese song I met Akira Kobayashi and Ulfuls Teppei Koike came 6 months ago. Ajantar is a nice place. Many super stars coming. What is your job? I am “Litter vehicle” man

This is “Litter vehicle” 334 00:30:47,311 –> 00:30:49,480 You can climb up by “Litter” I heard Akira Kobayashi was here. Yukio Mishima , Japanese novelist, also came in 1967 In the novel “Temple of Dawn” (1970), Ajantar appears So this is the Grotto. Cave 1 Let’s go inside.

But you can’t take video inside Cave 1 Deep in the dark grotto, the Buddha statue is faintly illuminated Ajanta is a Buddhist site built between the 2nd century B.C. and the 5th century A.D. (There are several theories as to the date). Approximately 550 meters long. About 30 grottoes are located in a row.

Elephant Gate Cave 19 The theme of Yukio Mishima’s novel “The Temple of Dawn” is reincarnation. The protagonist feels a spiritual presence while touring the cave. While gazing at a waterfall in Ajanta , he realizes that it is his deceased friend. I was looking for that waterfall. This looks like that waterfall.

The novel says it’s a high two waterfall. It’s not that great. Maybe the amount of water differs depending on the season😅 This is the grotto at the very end Cave 26 Like a place connected to heaven or reincarnation This is where I was most impressed. We have lunch at a restaurant near Ajanta

A bottle of beer costs 275 rupees (495 yen) Butter chicken curry 340 rupees (610 yen) My friend found a beautiful girl in the restaurant I asked her to let me take her picture. Is this also a Buddhist fate or causality? We are going to visit another World Heritage Site, Ellora Caves near Aurangabad.

On the way, we find a herd of goats. It took 2 hours to reach Ellora. Cave 16, the most famous cave in Ellora, is by the entrance gate, but Riding a cart to the furthest grotto The Ellora Grottoes were built between the 5th and 10th centuries.

Jainism, Hinduism, and Buddhism There are 34 caves We are now going to the 33rd grotto at the top of the list Cave 33 What is the religion here? Jainism It looks like a Buddha statue., but this area of Ellora is all Jainism

Jainism was established in the 6th-5th century B.C. the same time as Buddhism. Cave 32 There was a temple inside. This was not built. This is a “sculpture” carved out of a huge rock. The world of Indiana Jones movie A child is looking into something The other side of the hole looked like this

From the Jain area to the next area This is Cave 29 Cave 29 Entering Hindu area from here I can’t believe people digged through thick bedrock This looks like a temple The view from here was amazing There was a waterfall at Ajanta, but Ellora Falls was bigger and more spiritual.

This is the main 16th cave. Cave 16 This place is called Kailasanatha Temple There are many people here because it is the main attraction of the grotto. 16 grottoes are 47m wide, 81m deep, and 33m high This temple was also carved out of rock. It’s too amazing.

The pillars inside are also “sculptures” carved out of rock Returning to Aurangabad at night, I found a fair was being held and the Ferris wheels were lit up 7th day in India Aurangabad airport in early morning Now we are going to fly to Delhi

From Delhi to Aurangabad took a total of 28 hours by train. by plane only 1 hour and 45 minutes Indira Gandhi International Airport From airport to city center by metro Stay at a 5-star hotel for the last night in India The Metropolitan Hotel & Spa Sector 4, Gole Market, New Delhi, Delhi

Swimming pool is like a resort hotel Now let’s go sightseeing in Delhi. Connaught Place, about a kilometer from the hotel. I hear this is the most fashionable district in Delhi. There was also an Uniqlo shop, Japan’s “Top brand” My friend was forced to buy flowers

Even at a fashionable district there’s a child selling flowers 425 00:41:19,107 –> 00:41:21,943 Now we take the subway Delhi is a places where cows roaming around However the subways are well developed. I’m going to have lunch in Old Delhi now. I like the feeling of being in a corner of Asia

Connaught Place and subway are of course ”landscape” of India When I saw Old Delhi, I thought India must be like this I couldn’t find good place to have lunch. So I’m going to try McDonald’s in India Chicken Maharaja set (345 rupees, about 620 yen)

Since Indian people don’t eat beef, the hamburger was chicken Next stop is Red Fort, a World Heritage Site, near Old Delhi There is a row of souvenir shops here This used to be a marketplace for the ladies of the castle. This is the Diwani Arm (General Audience Hall)

In the evening, we go to a restaurant at Connaught Place. A young man who was next to me on the airplane recommended me this restaurant A bottle of beer is about the same price as in Japan.

I heard it become a nigh club after 10:00 p.m. But I went back to the hotel because I was tired walking around town After all, I didn’t go out at night in India. There seems to be almost no entertainment district in the first place Traveling in India, Day 8

We came to a world heritage tower in south Delhi Qutub Minar It must be bigger than Tsutenkaku Tower in Osaka. The tower is 73 meters high. Actually it is lower than Tsutenkaku Tower which is 103 meters high. It is surprising that it was built around 1200AD.

There is an airport nearby, so airplanes fly frequently. Indian world heritages are very high level. The last place I came to was India Gate This is not a world heritage site, but it is very impressive and I feel that I came all the way to India.

This is all my eight-day trip in India Japanese famous novelist Yukio Mishima once said: ‘There are those who can go to India and those who can’t… I think it’s about time for you to go to India” he said to Tadanori Yokoo, a Japanese artist

We’ve been traveling around Asia for the last ten years. and we thought, “Well, maybe it is time to go to India,” and we came here. I can say it took us 10 years to get to India. To be honest, India is not very comfortable as a travel destination.

The streets are dirty and there are not many places to have fun and to drink. You might be tired of eating only curry day by day But the World Heritage sites are priceless. There was something about the Indian subcontinent that attracted me. I think I’ll come back to India someday.

45 minutes video that makes you want to go to India: 8 days in India.

This is a compilation of my 8-day trip to India in October 2023. In addition to the capital Delhi, I visited Agra, where the Taj Mahal is located, and Aurangabad, where the Ajanta Grottoes are located, by train, and I think the contents will be helpful for those who are planning a trip to India.
”There are those who can go to India and those who can’t, but I think it’s about time you can go to India”.”
Japanese famous novelist,Yukio Mishima once said so to the painter Tadanori Yokoo.
My friend and I have been traveling to an Asian country once a year for the past 10 years. We have seen most of the major world heritage sites in East and Southeast Asia. So the only Asian country near Japan that had an amazing World Heritage site that we had not yet seen was India, except China. We had avoided India for a long time because we did not have a good image of India, such as dirty streets and a stomach ache. As we wanted to see some amazing World Heritage sites, we decided to go to India. Well it was really like “Maybe it’s time to go there”. In other words, it took us 10 years to be able to go to India.
The India was, in a way, just as I expected, and in some parts it exceeded my expectations, and it was an amazing country.
