[$7,800/day] The Ritz Carlton Maldives | Exclusive experience in Maldives | Maldives
Today we would like to introduce you to the Ritz-Carlton, Maldives, an enchanting luxury resort surrounded by crystal clear waters. Its official name is The Ritz-Carlton, Maldives, Fali Islands. It is located in North Male’ Atoll in the Republic of Maldives.
From Japan, you fly to Male Airport in Malaysia, from where you take a speedboat to the hotel, which takes about 45 minutes. This is the speedboat to the hotel. The cost is approximately 100,000 yen round trip. Note that the cost is separate from the accommodation fee, depending on the plan.
North Male’ Atoll, where the Ritz-Carlton is located, is dotted with many islands, and the capital, Male’, and Velana International Airport are also located in North Male’. The Male’ Atoll is divided into two main parts, North and South, with approximately 50 islands and 30 resort islands in North Male’ Atoll.
Due to the convenience of access by boat from the international airport, resort developments have been progressing one after another, and recently picnic islands have been developed. It is also famous for diving and is known for its many dive sites. So we have arrived at the Ritz-Carlton, Maldives.
Let me now introduce you to the Ritz-Carlton, Maldives. The Ritz-Carlton, Maldives is an integrated luxury resort by the premier hotel chain, Ritz-Carlton. The Ritz-Carlton is a luxury hotel brand founded by Cesar Ritz. The first hotel, the Ritz-Carlton, Boston, was a favourite of many celebrities, with Lizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton staying there.
It is also famous as the last hotel where Diana, Princess of Wales of the United Kingdom, stayed. There are 43 of these luxury resorts as of 2024, one of which is the Ritz-Carlton, Maldives. The resort is relatively new, having opened in June 2021.
The reason why it is integrated is that the Ritz-Carlton is not the only one on the island. In addition to the Ritz-Carlton, there are two other resorts on the island, Patina and Capella. In addition to these three resorts, there are separate restaurants and shopping malls, which are all combined into one resort.
The island is called Fali Island and is located at the north-eastern end of North Male’ Atoll. The area is famous for its pristine white sandy beaches, not to mention the clear blue waters. You have arrived at your room where you will be staying today.
You will be taken around the island in a cart like this. Now let’s take a look at your room. This time, the room type is the Beach Pool Villa. It features a beach right in front of you. It is further divided into two different positions, Sunrise and Sunset.
The time of day when the sun hits the beach differs between morning and afternoon, so it is recommended that you take into account which time of day you want to be in the pool or the sea. As the temperature itself is warmer in the Maldives,
It may be easier to spend the day on a balcony, for example, during Sunrise, when the sun is not shining at midday. On the other hand, if you want to have a good time in the sea or pool instead of relaxing in the shade, we recommend a room in the sunset direction.
Prices are approximately 300,000 yen per night. The front window can be fully opened. Just relaxing and listening to the sea breeze and the sound of the waves will be enjoyable enough. In front of the private pool, there is a king-size bed and a spacious bathtub
Where you can sleep and bathe while enjoying the expansive view of the sea. The bath is open style with no partitions. There are two washbasins behind the bed. There were plenty of towels provided, perhaps in anticipation of a dip in the sea or pool.
Perhaps because it was built in 2021, the facilities are all new and clean, and I felt itchy and substantial. The washrooms have a path that connects to the outside. There is a shower here, which is useful for removing sand after a day at the beach. There is a full range of grocery amenities.
There is an extra charge for alcohol, but all other juices and snacks are free. You can also add more for free. You can also make your own coffee with the coffee machine. Just note that alcohol is relatively expensive.
Incidentally, the sweets and champagne on the tabletop are free as part of the welcome service. Further in from the private pool is the beach, which is unique to Beach Pool Villas. The bright blue of the sea in front of you,
And of course the pure white sands that Fari Island is famous for, are extremely beautiful. You can enjoy swimming without any worries on this open beach. This beach is not a private beach, but a shared beach connected to the neighbouring villas. Once you’ve put your luggage down, it’s time to have lunch.
You can move around the resort by the cart you are riding now, or by the bicycles that are placed in front of your room. The carts are driven by butlers as shown in the video. This butler is called Alice Meeha, and one person per couple will accompany you exclusively.
They will help you in various situations, such as driving the carts. They will also give you a tour of the facilities during the cart ride. The warm outside temperatures with the cool sea breeze and the ocean view in front of you is fantastic. Getting around the island can also be a pleasure.
Today’s lunch is served at the BEACH SHACK restaurant, located next to the beach. This restaurant is best characterised by the fact that you can enjoy your meal right on the beach, and the Mediterranean cuisine is perfect for the ocean view. There are four other restaurants in the resort.
The first is the main restaurant, La Locanda. La Locanda is the only restaurant open at all hours and is a buffet-style restaurant. It mainly serves Southern Italian cuisine. And next to La Locanda is Summer Pavilion. This is a Chinese restaurant where you can taste authentic Chinese cuisine in the Maldives.
It is also a good place to enjoy a fresh Chinese meal while looking out to sea. The fourth is EAU BAR. This is a restaurant where you can enjoy drinks and snacks while enjoying the spectacular sunset view and events, which will be introduced later. The last is ‘Iwau’.
This is a Japanese restaurant, which means ‘celebration’ in Japanese. In addition to Japanese cuisine such as teppanyaki and sushi, you can also enjoy Japanese sake and other Japanese alcoholic beverages. There are also two Ritz-Carlton restaurants in the Fari marina Village on the same island,
Serving Lebanese-Indian cuisine at Arabesqu and Asian cuisine at Tum Tum. This BEACH SHACK hosts petit events on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. There will be a variety of themed dinners, including free wine and champagne and a dinner event featuring lobster.
While Mediterranean food is great in the daytime while looking at the bright blue sea, drinks and food by the sea while watching the sunset will also be great. The restaurant also offered ice cream. A variety of ice cream flavours are available, and this time we enjoyed coconut and espresso flavours.
Cold ice cream is perfect for the hot Maldives. After enjoying lunch, I would like to introduce you to another room in the resort. The room I am about to introduce to you is the Water Pool Villa.
There is a wooden bridge that spans from the land you have just passed over, and several villas are built in the form of branches. Each of these round buildings is a Water Pool Villa. These are then lined up in a circle to form a large circle, which is both original and beautifully unified.
Stingrays were also enjoying swimming. They are so cute. So we arrived at the Water Pool Villas. The best feature is that, as the name suggests, it is built on the water. There is no land beside the private pool in front of you, and all around you is the sea.
Furthermore, all the front windows can be opened, giving you an ocean view at close range. Combined with the beauty of the crystal-clear emerald sea, it’s a sight to behold. Incidentally, the pool is about 1m deep. Adults should have no problem with the depth.
You can also descend to the sea from the ladder in front of you. Unlike the pool, the ground is coral reef, so be careful not to cut your feet. The light blue area in the front is relatively shallow and you can reach your feet at a depth of about 1 m,
But the blue area in the back is deeper at once, so be careful when swimming. All of the 100 rooms, including this one, have a pool, and even the smallest room is over 150 square metres, making it very spacious. The rooms are built in curves inspired by the natural environment,
Such as water and wind, and both the interior and exterior are rounded. The construction also creates no sense of a boundary between indoors and outdoors, successfully blending island living with modern design, while being stylishly crafted in every detail. The warmth of the wood grain matches the blue of the sea.
Other features include the fact that this is a two-bed. Each bed is available in twin and king size. Other interiors, such as the bathroom and washroom, are the same as the first ‘Beach Pool Villa’. This ‘Water Pool Villa’ is the third most luxurious room and is priced at approximately 600,000 yen per night.
Lastly, the Beach Pool Villa is a two-bed type. As a Beach Pool Villa, the beach opens up as soon as you enter. This is the highest ranked room, excluding the top suites, and costs approximately 1 million yen per night. The sun is setting.
The sea lit by the setting sun has a different beauty than during the day. In addition to restaurants and hotels, there are a variety of activities in the resort. This is the garden space located on the left side of the island.
There is a swing set up here, with an ocean view in front of you. It is a great place to take photos with the sea in the background. The garden space not only has a swing, but also hosts evening events.
This is the ‘Romantic Cinema Dinner’, where you can rent out the garden and have dinner while watching a cinema. The atmosphere is sure to be romantic. You can also experience beach activities unique to the sea, such as kayaking, canoeing, snorkelling and paddle surfing for free.
For a fee, you can try banana boats and water bikes. Other activities include muscle training in the training room, billiards in the recreation room and tennis courts on the island, where everyone can enjoy tennis together. It seems that there is never a dull moment in the resort.
On a different note, we have just arrived at the Eau Bar, which was introduced in the first half of this article. This is an event that starts at sunset time. A fire is lit on a circular pedestal and musical instruments are played as you walk around.
The traditional music and the view of the sea lit by the setting sun is very magical. The music and the sunset were exceptional to listen to while enjoying a drink. The main restaurant, La Locanda, is located in the immediate vicinity.
As the main restaurant, it is open all hours of the day, morning, noon and night, and the food is buffet and a la carte style. The main dishes are Southern Italian Mediterranean cuisine. At night, the lights go out and the area is pitch black.
It is a bit scary, but the night breeze is cool and very pleasant. There is also a service where food is brought to your room for you to eat. In the morning, breakfast was brought to us. It’s a big breakfast, with assorted fruits and pancakes.
Incidentally, the exterior of the Beach Pool Villas here has the same round shape as the Water Pool Villas. The shape of this round building is inspired by the shape of the small drum-like instrument we heard played earlier. That instrument is called ‘Bodu Beru’ and is a traditional Maldivian musical instrument.
This is what I mean by harmony between tradition and modernity. We have just had breakfast and would like to have breakfast again. The second day was also fortunately blessed with good weather. We came to La Locanda, which we visited for dinner. Breakfast is buffet-style, just like dinner.
Freshly baked bread is lined up in a row. There is a wide range of breads, from deli bread to pastry bread. All jams are homemade. Even the fat content is listed, which is great for health-conscious people. There are health-conscious dishes as well as robust dishes. You will feel energised in the morning.
There was also curry with chicken in it and freshly cooked rice. There is also honey that is left from the hive, homemade dressings, detox juices and chia seeds. Many of the items are handmade and you can feel the care that has gone into each dish.
Seating is on the terrace by the sea and further back, and the restaurant is more spacious than you might imagine. In addition to the buffet, there is also an a la carte menu. You can eat freshly prepared food, which is also recommended.
This time I ordered a white omelette, eggs Benedict and Italian waffles. Next up is the Spa at the Ritz-Carlton, Maldives. The spa is built in the centre of the over-water pool villas.
The water pool villas are built in a circle, and the spa, which has the same round shape, fills the hole in the middle. The villa and spa together are like a work of art and are worth seeing even if you don’t use the spa.
The central part of the building is a stylish atrium, with a view of the sky and the sea. There is also a shop inside the spa, selling clothes and snacks. There are a total of nine treatment rooms in the spa. All are couple treatment rooms.
As soon as you enter, you are greeted with a candle. It says “Pamper Time”. It’s nice to feel like you’re being treated with hospitality. The treatment rooms are spacious and roomy. The orange light creates a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Each treatment room is equipped with Bamford’s organic body and skincare collections,
Which gives a strong sense of commitment to the treatments. The spa also offers a range of treatments, from standard treatments to ‘Bamboo Massage’ using heated bamboo sticks and treatments using coconut and sand. The coconut and sand treatment in particular is a treatment
that can only be performed on the sand of Fari island, which has very little impurities. It is a spa experience that can only be experienced here. Now that you have healed your body and soul at the spa, you want to go and see the rest of the island.
From the boat, you can see the beach pool villas mentioned earlier and the water pool villas. It’s fresh and fun to see them from another angle. Incidentally, this crossing boat is modeled after a traditional Maldivian boat called a ‘dhoni’. As I said at the beginning, this is an integrated resort.
In addition to the Ritz-Carlton, which I have introduced, there are several other resorts on the same island. We are now heading to the resort called Fari Marina Village, which is right next to one of them.
There is an hourly boat service to Fari Marina, and you can be picked up and dropped off free of charge in this way. We have arrived at the ‘Fari Marina Village’. The first place to be introduced is the restaurant ‘Arabesque’. Here you can have Lebanese cuisine.
Lebanese cuisine is said to be characterised by healthy dishes with beans and vegetables, but this time there are more meat-based dishes. but this time there are more meat-based dishes. The Peking duck was like a kebab. They were all spicy and delicious. Next is the Tuk Tuk food truck.
They sell cool and sweet gelato. It was particularly popular with families with children. There are also other food truck shops, such as GOGOBURGER. こちらは「GOGOBURGER」。 You can enjoy a hearty hamburger. This is TUMTUM. You can eat Asian food such as tom yum kung fu.
The last room to be introduced is the top suite, the Ritz-Carlton Maldives Estate. The Estate’s most distinctive feature is its size. There are a total of four villas, a private pool and even a private beach. The total area is 1,500 m2. The villas also come with a private chef and personal butler.
This is the private pool. The size of the pool is on the level of other resorts. This is the private beach. The beach at the Beach Pool Villas was shared, but the beach at the Estate is private. You can enjoy swimming to your heart’s content without worrying about your surroundings.
In the central part of the estate, right in front of the private pool, is the living room. The estate can accommodate up to six people, but there is plenty of room for more. Inside, there is a dining kitchen with a full set of cooking utensils and crockery.
Drinks, except alcohol, are of course free. The coffee drippers are of high-end specifications. There are also stylish tea leaves. If you leave the room and go to the left, there are two bedrooms. Both are as large as the regular villas we have shown you.
The left of the two is a bedroom with a king bed. In front of it is a private beach. The closet is also very spacious. The bath is open style like the other villas. The shower is located behind the bath.
There are a full range of amenities and there seems to be no inconvenience. The bedroom on the right has twin size beds. The rest of the décor is basically the same as before. The last one is the master bedroom. The master bedroom is located on the right as you enter the estate.
This is the largest bedroom in the estate. It has one king-size bed and the rest of the basic décor is basically the same as the other bedrooms, but it has a private pool, which is different from the one in the garden, and two toilets and showers, one on each side.
Furthermore, it has a terrace. This is a surprisingly spacious estate. The price is approximately 2.3 million yen per night. Now let’s get back to the Ritz-Carlton before the sun completely sets. Food and drinks were available on board. We enjoyed cruising at sunset with stylish music. Return to the Ritz-Carlton.
The orange lighting gives a warm feeling. Let’s take a look at the rest of the restaurants for dinner. This one, featuring the word ‘Kotobuki’, is the restaurant Iwau, which is open for dinner only.
Here you can enjoy Japanese food such as teppanyaki and sushi in an open style, with the food cooked in front of you. The last restaurant is the Chinese restaurant SUMMER PAVILION. The restaurant’s interior is inspired by Maldivian lanterns. Here you can enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine, including dim sum and small dishes.
This is the end of the introduction of the rooms and restaurants. The resort itself is very large, so there is a considerable variety of rooms and restaurants. Now I would like to relax in my room. So how was the Ritz-Carlton, Maldives? Emerald blue waters spreading everywhere you look.
The pure white sandy beaches that are unique to this island. And the warm and friendly service of the island’s staff. Everything is first class. You will be satisfied not only as a tourist, but also as a honeymooner. Why not come and visit?
