Even though it’s an old town, it’s very clean, beautiful, and has a nice atmosphere. There are also many tourist-oriented shops where you can experience the Edo period. It’s smaller than Kawagoe in Saitama, but there are no cars so it’s comfortable. There is also a tower like this in Takayama.
It is an important cultural property called Kokubunji Three-Storied Pagoda. Is there something here? There is a morning market here that is a Takayama specialty. It’s over there by the river. At this morning market, you can enjoy a variety of foods. I’m looking forward to it! Oh, there’s takoyaki. looks delicious.
The takoyaki is soft on the inside, just like Osaka. They use Wajima octopus from Ishikawa Prefecture and green onions from Hida. This is a mini taiyaki. It’s small, but it actually contains red bean paste. It even has Thai patterns on it. The homemade miso and pickles look delicious.
That? There’s a line for something. This is a rice ball shop. I like the rice balls! looks delicious. The morning market closes at 12:00, so it’s best to get there early. It’s almost lunchtime, and since I’ve come all the way to Hida Takayama, I have to try some Hida beef.
It’s a Hida beef steak bowl. Wow, this looks delicious. The meat looks like it’s melting. I thoroughly enjoyed the Hida beef, and then went for a walk in the evening. In front of Takayama Station at night. It’s not too crowded and it’s beautiful.
The atmosphere of the town at night is also very nice. However, for dinner, the restaurant closes around 8 o’clock, and many customers have reservations, so you have to be careful. I found a retro haircut shop. Apparently it was founded in 1933. It has a history of 90 years.
I’m curious about the blood stains at the bottom. There’s a signboard that looks very retro. The river at night is also beautiful. Take a walk through the old townscape at night. It looks like a movie set from the Edo period. However, it is not a set, but a town where people live.

The tendon meat is delicious. I love you. This shop’s special Takayama ramen has arrived. It’s ramen that I’ve never seen before. It also came with pickles. looks tasty. It’s a uniquely rich and delicious soup for ramen. It seems to be the original flavor of this restaurant.
