Doraemon’s hometown in Japan | Anime tour in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture
Hello everyone. I’m Doraemon! This time we will introduce Doraemon’s hometown, Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. “Doraemon” is the representative work of Fujiko F. Fujio, a native of Takaoka City. Familiar characters have been recreated with lively appearances that look like they just jumped out of the anime.
Doraemon and Noby are smiling and waving in the vacant lot. Sneech loves plastic models and radio controls. Young kids may not understand. Big G loves katsudon (pork cutlet bowl). He has had the clay pipe all to himself since early morning. The clay pipes are also well reproduced!
Sue loves baths. It may be the origin of healing. Dorami loves melon bread. Height: 100cm, weight: 91kg, power: 10,000 horsepower This is what it looks like from Big G’s perspective. Takaoka Otogi no Mori Park is a comprehensive park that can be enjoyed by everyone from children to adults.
There is a large lawn area where you can enjoy ball games and picnics, as well as large playground equipment with a popular long slide. There is a large fluffy indoor trampoline, a large 20 square meter ball pool, and more. Doraemon’s sundial Doraemon’s secret tools are depicted. Small light, Anywhere door, Hopter, Time machine
These are all familiar items. It’s a plaza that makes you want to forget about time and play forever. I arrived at Shin-Takaoka Station, a 15-minute walk from Takaoka Otoginomori Park. Shin-Takaoka Station is a stop on the Hokuriku Shinkansen, so it is convenient to access from afar.
Takaoka City is overflowing with manga, and the future Mr. Fujiko F. Fujio may be born. Get on the train and head to Takaoka Station. Huh! ? Ninja Hattori-kun train! I was lucky this time, but if you want to be sure to ride it, it’s better to check the operating status in advance.
The National Treasure Koukouzan Zuiryuji was built over 18years by Toshitune, the 3rd head of the Kaga clan, to mourn the 2ndhead of the Kaga clan,Toshinaga Maeda. Zuiryuji is arranged in seven Garans that resemble the human body, And Garans areconenected by corridors.※garan: building enshring Buddha in temple
The Buddha Hall designeted as a National Treasure enshrines the principal image of Buddha, ShakaNyorai. The building at the far end of Zuiryuji is the Hatto. Zuiryuji Temple is attractive for its beautiful grounds, historical buildings, and quiet atmosphere. I felt healing and spiritual peace.
I took the opportunity to walk along the approach to Takaoka Station. Let’s also say hello to Toshinaga Maeda. Takaoka Station is famous for its Doraemon Post and Doraemon Walking Road. Takaoka City also has trams. I will also introduce Doraemon Tram later. There are 12 statues of characters appearing in Doraemon.
A warm message from Fujiko F. Fujio was engraved at the foot of the Doraemon statue. “I was born here in Takaoka City in 1930. My body and mind grew while playing in the nature of my hometown.”
“I hope that this park, which was born in Takaoka, which is changing with the times, will continue to be an oasis for children that has remained unchanged from the past, and a place that will continue to nurture children’s dreams and creativity.” July 1994 Fujiko F. Fujio
I’m sure many citizens and fans felt happy here in Takaoka. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Professor Fujiko F. Fujio and pray for his repose in peace.
Yamachosuji began when Toshinaga Maeda, the second head of the Kaga Maeda family, opened Takaoka Town and invited townspeople from nearby castle towns to build a merchant town along the Hokuriku Expressway.
The townscape that remains to this day is due to the fact that the main building was built with a fire-proof structure, a clay storehouse, during reconstruction after the Great Fire of 1900.
Along with these earthen storehouse-style main buildings, there are also an authentic Western-style red brick bank and a main building with a Western-style design, conveying a distinctive historical landscape. Takaoka Shinkin Bank has a profound and retro feel. Takaoka City is popular among tourists for its townscape that exudes history and culture.
In 2012, Kanayamachi, the oldest town in the area, was selected as a National Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, the first of its kind in Japan. Even now, the houses are lined with delicate 1000-lattice lattice structures, creating a beautiful appearance that harmonizes perfectly with the approximately 500m long cobblestone road.
We also recommend strolling around town and spotting the heart- and star-shaped copper pieces scattered here and there on the cobblestones. There is also a workshop where you can try making castings and a shop where you can try making tin accessories, so you can experience Takaoka’s traditional crafts firsthand.
Why not try making your own piece of art as a memento of your trip? Takaoka Great Buddha, known as the most beautiful man in Japan.
It was completed over a period of 26 years starting in 1907 by combining the best of local copperware manufacturing techniques, and is one of the three great Buddhas of Etchu, along with Kosugi Daibutsu and Shogawa Daibutsu.
Takaoka Daibutsu, a bronze seated statue of Amida Nyorai located at Daibutsu-ji Temple in Takaoka City, is 16 meters tall. Since ancient times, he has been the guardian deity of all industries including agriculture, forestry, fisheries, commerce, and business, including “rice cultivation”, which is the root of life.
In addition, as the name of your company suggests, it is widely revered as a god who rules over water, and is considered a miraculous god of purification. He is also known as the “god of connections” between people.
This is a gallery where you can experience the origins of Fujiko F. Fujio’s manga, as well as the joy and interest of his works. You can only take photos at photo spots. It will be a wonderful memory for your children! Thank you for watching until the end! See you soon!
I went to Doraemon’s hometown. Takaoka City is located in Toyama Prefecture, in the northwestern part of Honshu. Takaoka City has a rich history and is especially famous for traditional crafts such as metalwork. The city has been a center for the production of copperware and other metal crafts for centuries. Takaoka City is a historically and culturally fascinating city, and is actually the birthplace of Fujiko F. Fujio, the creator of Doraemon. This time, we will introduce Takaoka City, where history and anime are fused.
In addition to the Fujiko F. Fujio Hometown Art Gallery, Takaoka City is home to tourist spots that anime fans will love, such as Doraemon Walking Road, Doraemon Post, and Takaoka Otogi-no-Mori Park. In addition, historical tourist attractions include Takaoka Daibutsu (Great Buddha), one of Japan’s three great Buddhas, Zuiryu-ji Temple, Yamachosuji (a townscape built with earthen storehouses) and Kanayamachi (a row of 1,000-lattice lattice houses), which are Traditional Buildings Preservation District.
Due to its historical significance, traditional craftsmanship, and connection to Doraemon creator Fujiko F. It’s an interesting city.
