Bolzano 🇮🇹 – Charming Tyrolean City in Northern Italy. 4K Walking Tour

On this trip, my friend Naomi and I left Florence, and headed north to discover the winter wonderland in Bolzano. It’s about a 3.5-hour train ride. Passing little villages and apple fams. Some mountain climbers on board as well. It’s 3:30pm now. We have 1 hour before the sunset. Snow on the mountains!!!

These are part of the Dolomites in the Northern Italian Alps. Bolzano train station. This is right outside of the train station. Let’s continue to the main square. 5 minutes walk later, we are already at the main square, Piazza Walther. Bolzano is located in the South Tyrol region of northern Italy.

There are Italian and Austrian (Tyrolean) influences in its architecture. Duomo di Bolzano (Bolzano Cathedral). We will be exploring this Duomo later. Walther von der Vogelweide, a celebrated medieval German minnesinger and poet. Colorful Tyrolean architecture is impressive. They reflect a mix of Austro-Hungarian Empire and Renaissance styles.

In Bolzano, despite being in Italy, I hear more German being spoken. What a peaceful and lively town! Share this video with someone who might enjoy this kind of place. Very organoized clean city. The Bolzano area is known for its woodcrafts. Let’s take a walk before it gets dark.

This is part of the historic center, just a few steps away from the square. You don’t need a map. Just walk around and get lost is the best way to enjoy. Nice geometric tile patterns on the roof. The tower is distinctly Gothic. What a beautiful bronze doors with designs

The roof design is a characteristic feature of many churches in the Alpine region. The church, bathed in the golden light of the setting sun, is amazing! As dusk falls, the buildings light up, creating a very magical atmosphere. Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah…. So cute!

Have you been to any Christmas market like this? Which one did you go? Let me know in the comment. I would like to visit next year! This is my very first Christmas Market visit. And so far, I love it! The Christmas markets here are open even after New Year.

Gnomes shop. And he also look like OG! (Original Gnomes) Gnomes are alpine folklore mythical creatures.

Oh….church bells, Such an authentic feeling! It’s time for dinner. Gorgonzola, Radicchio, dark bread hamburger… sounds delicious. And cold draft German beer! The Tyrolean + Northan Italian burger was pretty good. The historic center of Bolzano is only half a square kilometer, making it very easy to walk around.

The area is filled with charming streets, historic buildings, and lively markets. What a cute yellow building! What language is that? I don’t think it’s Italian nor German….No idea. It was closed, but we discovered a very nice chocolaterie.

Are you a chocolate lover? I love high quality chocolate. If you like chocolate, give me a wave! Good Morning Bolzano! We got up early because today, we are planning to go to Merano and Trento. Subscribe to get notified when the video comes out!
