ULTIMATE street food tour in HONG KONG đđ°
I tell you what I love everything about this food and I haven’t even tried it yet I love  the way that the waffle irons are all Beat to Death and taped back up again I love the way the  lady is so hardworking she literally doesn’t stop she’s constantly doing something and I Â
Love the way the whole little tiny store has a huge lineup around the corner uh let’s try the  food because I’m sure it’s good so she’s got this kind of interesting puffy waffle I guess there’s Â
Air inside each one then she sort of Curves it and serves it to you like a a big Crispy Waffle so let’s try it tell you what the warmth of it and the texture is amazing there’s actually air inside each one Â
Make it really soft and delicious and definitely a local phenomenon because ion and I were lucky  that catch it just when she opened up cuz within 10 minutes of her opening we a line up down the Â
Street so we were lucky to only wait 5 10 minutes for it it or not it’s also Micheline star I just  saw it on there wall yeah oh I didn’t suspect that okay something new you’re going to love Â
It it’s so good the the texture inside the air inside mhm nice right like a puff ball  the flavor is just waffle flavor but the texture is amazing the inside is kind of like not totally  cooked right how do you explain this kind of gooey in side yeah perfectly cooked she got Â
That timing in her head constantly flipping them and she knows exactly how to make it kind of fre  on the outside but really warm and nice the inside mhm uh really great food I love it m  really five stars absolutely I would say six star this one this one is worth the Michelin Â
Star this one is worth the Michelin star yeah all right so the Hong Kong food tour just beginning I  think we start it off on a high note this one might be one of the best ones but uh I love Â
The whole look of the shop just awesome mhm so let’s keep eating tell you what but it’s really  impressive that she’s cooked it so perfectly that’s really the appeal of the snack is the  texture is perfect because there’s no timer in there it’s just her in her head knowing Â
Exactly how to do it yeah she keeps checking it texture is amazing very tasty very good  very enjoyable to eat it’s very comforting too very comforting the flavor is just simple but  the the experience is very good I love this place yeah big fan very good all the Mitchell and God
Winner it’s funny chilling as a tire guy yeah I don’t know how it started I think the idea  is like it’s worth driving for or something like this I don’t know how it started but  anyway I’m so hungry let’s eat let’s eat at the Michelin star restaurant our person yo the Food Â
Comes so fast so fast I guess because I got a small menu they can make it very quickly  yeah only noodles that’s their only thing it looks so good actually a little bit of  spice yes we’ve been hungry we’ve been hungry yeah the bowl is a little bit small true fact Â
Yeah but it just looks good yeah not exactly a cold day but a long day so we’re ready to eat what you got there wanton and verelli oh my gosh table wanton uh shrim shrimp shrimp one it’s okay it’s not 5 minutes it’s good the shrim one is good yeah Â
Pretty good I would give it maybe four out of five four stares it’s a Michelin store well  you got high standards you want still good though I like it it’s um the won itself is  quite plump and juicy so I like that but the Noles there’s nothing special about Â
The noodles I don’t know if it’s handmade or anything and the broad is quite good so um I  will give five stars for the broth and the won but four stars for you’re a Critic Ivana you’re Â
A hard hard one to please man it’s good though oh we were so hungry yeah let’s eat man let’s eat all right so we’ve tried a Michelin star beef noodle that we didn’t necessarily love so Â
Next up let’s try this place which we’ve tried before is so good we want to show you this one  it’s no Michelin star but it’s five star let’s say that oh look at that this is the maybe that Â
Goes inside the wantons all right so tiny little shop here and even at 2:00 p.m. the shop is so  full that we’re sharing the table with our new friend so there’s three of us here and uh the Â
Big difference is when you look at the meat of this soup the meat looks like real brisket it’s  got tons of fat on it looks like someone took a knife and cut it off the side of a big chunk Â
Of meat whereas the other place it almost looked like the meat came out of a can you know the meat  didn’t have any flavor in it so even the broth it just so much more color and flavor from all Â
That fat um I don’t know how the other place got a mission star because this is the one that because  this is the one that has much more flavor oh so good oh love [Music] it oh love it absolutely Â
Five star food Steve got the thin yellow egg noodles I think that’s what it is right I got  the pink fish noodles oh something different yeah so pause the noodle is made from fish yeah okay Â
Okay wow fish paste I guess fish paste with the still beef brisket on top which looks amazing wow  good right or no it’s good it’s different it’s bouncy bouncy yeah a little bit like a fish ball  it tastes like fish balls really in a noodle form okay seriously something different right Â
But it’s good I like it actually now that you mention it it looks bouncy very unique oh this  is good food guys this is for me better than the other one looks amazing right so tender Â
Ju it’s like real brisket they just cut up put in the soup I think they cook it like overnight chil chil okay let’s eat man this is uh this is good stuff can’t say enough  how good this is look at the meat it’s so brisky you know the big lay on the outside Â
It’s so goodis very tender there’s a lot of meat in there I’m getting full it’s so nice  there so much good meat this is Abol six star Hong Kong food mhm mhm and the meat  is thick very nice M thick and tender they cook it I think like overnight or something Â
I don’t know but it’s good it’s good it’s like yesterday they make the brisket and  today they put the brisket in the soup yeah and the portion is huge so nice very big yummy five
Stars oh good man so good she making one time for the noodle what’s in this thing meat and what’s  the other stuff in the in meat and shrimp shrimp yeah she looks so good right meat and shrimp very Â
Good she quick too I want to learn how to make not her first time let see this food is so good  very good very good everyone come here when you’re in Hong Kong very design too yellow tables yellow Â
Walls that’s the whole design love it okay let’s keep eating I’m still hungry there I’m not I’m not  full man the Coca-Cola pushed it down you know by the way glass bottle Coca-Cola everything right in  this store love it all right so ivana’s interested in trying fishball on a stick she’s got herself Â
One stick for 10 bucks not bad I feel like this is the hot dog equivalent of the ocean world look hot  also it was hot she go with your fish balls and your Coca-Cola but actually we see fishballs for Â
Sale all over the place this is very common food especially street food sort of on display like  this curried fishball yeah I can taste the curry and a little bit spicy um and the fish B it’s not Â
Fishy is there any fish in it I think it’s I think it’s like a hot dog where it’s just sort of stuff  meat all pushed together yes yes maybe yeah the inside is um very smooth soft bouncy hot dog yeah Â
It’s good and good fast food good fast food I mean for 10 bucks can’t go wrong not a bad snack huh  fish ball on a stick mhm everywhere so I thought iard good one good one all right the Food Hunt [Music] continues
[Music] so this is di correct yes which I don’t really know what it is although it  looks so intriguing right all the wood stuff and the steam coming up but sometimes dim suom is like  a meatball right sometimes dim suum is like a bun yeah sometimes it’s like dumplings sometimes it’s Â
Won maybe what I need is a translation of the words dim Su what does it mean cuz it doesn’t  mean meatball doesn’t mean bun it means everything no that’s right dim suum could be anything they  got all types a piece of pizza that’s dim suum like we don’t know I don’t know what Â
It is try and order something I mean the store looks so beautiful all the steam coming up and  the ladies working so hard so come on let’s try give some let’s do put in a nice container nice Â
So we ordered three types we just show them the pictures from here they ordered this one this one  and this one and it comes to 51 not bad yeah not bad I just figured it out by the way this wooden Â
Thing that’s a dim song Oh you think so that’s what I think 51 thank you because everything  they sell comes from that thing and it’s that’s my guess let me know in the comments if I’m right I Â
Had to do use my my big right maybe maybe I’ve had dim some before but I’ve never thought of  the word of what it meant you know usually the the name describes the food this one the name Â
Describes like anything yeah and they got lots of types thank you thank you thank you you okay  thank you oh it’s good she packed it up nice put some Chopsticks in there good okay let’s eat man Â
You hold it Steve okay can I think this is like beef and shrimp is there any sauce I know no sauce okay what do you think I think it’s going to be good looks like it’s got  the what do you think you think it’s going to be good I think so looks like Â
It’s got some flavors in it and fresh in the morning is it hot wo it’s hot careful it’s so good oh oh man this really goes to show you that I don’t know anything because yeah I Â
Looked at this and I’m like what is it I don’t even know what the word means I don’t want it  it’s super goody want to before we went here Steve is like dim suum I don’t like dimsum you’re like
What Steve it’s super good yeah I just shove the whole thing down I think I  burned my whole throat it’s so tasty it’s soft and delicious and it’s got  some got some green you know seasoning what do you call that leaves herbs in Â
There green onions so good let me tell you something dimar is five star dimsum here  in five star here in Hong Kong this one is shrimp no yeah careful it’s hot might be hot woo also good this one’s pretty simple just just shrimp and rice paper but you know Â
What’s nice about it the flavor is simple but the texture is so nice it’s really like in  your mouth you know what I’m saying it’s quite nice texture bloop bloop bloop can you explain  more no like it exploded in your mouth no it’s kind of like it’s kind of bouncy and sticky at Â
The same time I’m a big fan of Di this beef one look super good what’s this thing here  don’t tell me is this tofu yes I think it’s tofu skin I I like tof skin I Chang my mind Â
I like tofu skin too now just don’t okay try that one got more yeah oh man we are  on a roll here today so this one is the bun I think charu bun which is a barbecue pork I
Think by the way you’re good with your with the Chopstick W this is like a com uh by the way this  is definitely going to be good I think this is finger food no or no yeah you can eat it with Â
Your hand I think look like a little sandwich oh don’t eat the paper oh this like a band bow  don’t eat the paper B in Vietnam yesam has B this is going to be so good the the the bounciness of Â
The bread which is made from rice flour right yeah is it’s delicious I can already tell it’s good with the inside it’s for charu oh you like it now you like it this  might be the best thing I’ve had in in all of Hong Kong really
There you have it five stars this one six stars this is this for me this could be everyday eater  if I live over here I come down Pi it up go to work every day right there you know there Â
Kind of sweet food don’t even have chairs so you just grab it and go true very good  the texture of the um rice flour can I have to please yeah so good all right and you’re Â
Hungry good for breakfast actually nice there you have it all right six stars six stars oh look at  that big clean room for rent M interesting way to advertise all right the Food Hunt Continues Australia Dairy company and no it’s not a milk factory we’re  actually going for breakfast and I’ve never L up for so long to get breakfast wow here all right we share we share table with other people so Co I tell you what Â
This is the greatest restaurant ever was so crowded and the staff are yelling at  everybody it’s amazing here I love this I love this my goodness uh the line outside  I thought it was going to be like an hour wait but it was only like 20 minutes it was a long Â
Line by but they’re moving pretty quick because the staff are so hard workking uh and believe  it or not this is traditional Hong Kong food uh in our friend group this is like the most  recommended dish this and the goose which you still have to try uh so macaroni soup I guess
Tastes a bit like macaroni and cheese yeah thank you thank you good uh yeah  it’s like macaroni and cheese flavor but it’s soup and it’s got ham in it kind of nice and it comes with bread EG pretty great in here for a tourist experience it’s pretty Â
Great I don’t know if they’re mostly tourists or locals in here but it is p wow so this is  the thing I think mostly tourist in here because this dish is available all around  and yet this is the restaurant with a big line that’s true they got the reputation Â
I don’t know why it’s so popular here I mean the atmosphere is great I’m not sure you guys  can hear me it’s amazing in here I hope you can hear Steve so let’s man all right this  is the difference between I think Hong Kong food and the mainline China food because in Â
Hong Kong you get a mix of Western Meat East so West meets east east that’s why  you got macaroni as West meets East eats yes that’s right all right let’s eat let’s eat man be honest the soup is remarkably forgettable nothing special it’s a regular chicken soup it’s Â
Very plain soup what I love is the experience of being here I really admire the people working here  they’re all running and yelling it’s amazing if you work in this restaurant you can work in any Â
Restaurant in the world this got to be one of the most hectic work environment so for me the  food is like I don’t know two stars nothing special but the experience here is quite nice  it’s very comfort food very comfort food I it’s simple soup yes it’s like a chicken soup that you Â
Get when you’re sick T like chicken noodle soup yeah just has macaroni noodles in yeah but it’s  very comforting with just toast and I simple but yet popular classic Hong Kong breakfast  very nice not bad wow half a cup of see still left and gu like okay get out that’s right I’m Â
Like I think the rule of thumb is don’t taste the drink just swallow it yeah go talk to anybody and  get out that was fun the food was okay I mean I don’t I have no idea how it’s so popular cuz the Â
Food is remarkably average but the experience is very fun yeah look at this still the lineup  down the street and around the corner around the corner wow amazing okay let’s go for our next Food [Music] Adventure check this out for me one of the top Hong Kong Foods oh really it’s pork chop Â
Baked with tomato sauce and cheese and cheese on Top O It’s kind of great it’s almost like in  Brazil they do a lot of chicken parmesana ah right kind of like a Parmesan but it’s baked Â
Now I can’t eat this right now because it’s 10 million de but also a rice inside so you  got a sort of eastern western Fusion Eastern West might be the story of Hong Kong kind of  yeah yeah that’s right that’s right good it’s really good I mean it’s a huge bow of goodness Â
Pork chop cheese tomato sauce and rice that’s what makes it Asian the rice I think it’s really  good that’s funny this is really five star food I mean this is the kind of thing that especially Â
When it’s cold outside it’s so nice yeah I mean we just came with a spoon and it’s so warm it’s  great we just came to Like A Simple Cafe here but which I think is the quietest restaurant in Hong Â
Kong got our own table and no one’s yelling at us this is amazing this is like this is a little bit  Western you know you’re right you’re right but it’s a good thing on a cold day it’s really good Â
I can’t you try you’re going to love it try try look got this oh my God it does look good  looks so good here try try try try try try with a cheese drink come on here try it’s nice right Â
M the gooey cheese with all the hot M sauce very nice this might be my favorite Hong Kong  food in terms of a real meal yeah some other street food and snacks are good but in terms Â
Of a real unique meal the pork chop iser too it’s good and the pork chop is actually breaded  yeah so it’s it’s got crunchy it’s got gooey it’s got warm oh let me tell you five stars very good Â
Very good for by the way if you want utensils you get them from the drawer under the table  I was impressed with that you’re so funny first time I saw that no full pork chop with bone and Â
The breading on the pork chop because it was baked it’s so soggy with fat it’s so delicious this is good food you know what  I mean oh it’s good I’m going say it six stars that was so [Music] nice thank
You yeah goose is more dark e okay so it’s time for goose rice which in my head sounds  so exotic although Goose should not be that exotic for me I eat chicken I eat duck turkey Â
Is in the same family and I guess the way the meat is prepared it looks a lot like chicken  rice or pork rice that we in otheres the only difference is it’s so let’s try I guess Goose Â
Meat is dark meat yeah is there any sauce maybe not that’s it the sauce is in the rice sauce  maybe the sauce is in the rice okay let’s try I think it’s my first time eating goose is it Â
Right I think so this is my first time eating goose I’ve had Ducks before but I’ve never had Goose I think it tastes like d a little bit more meaty M like it  kind of have a a mixture of liver and duck you know what I mean m a Â
Mix of liver and duck the skin is super crispy hard to chew actually like now I got mine with u the barbecue pork which is Char you veryy good too pretty flavorful I tell you what this is good mhm you’re right though it’s Â
Like chicken and liver mhm that’s sounds bad but it’s good very juicy the meat is actually  cold it not warm maybe it’s been hanging on the window there yeah it’s yummy though yeah this I Â
Put black sauce on top of that soy sace something and it’s a little bit more sauce it’s good uh okay  not bad four really yeah but combination of liquor and D that’s what it is more me sauce feel rude if I ask for sauce nobody has sauce and in true Hong Kong fashion Â
We’re sharing a table with some new friends okay I prefer I still prefer  duck better than goose maybe yeah it’s almost no fat though you’re right maybe  it’s just my cut but almost look like a beef a little bit like dark meat like red meat
Good not bad my first time eating say I was say it’s a success good yelling and screaming very good I would give it a four star is still uh duck is still better for me you know what this part that I’m Â
Chewing on I think is a bone eat tons of Bones yeah I think it’s Oh I thought skin I’ve definitely eaten a bunch of Bones nice smooth SEO all right  I’m able to get some sauce I don’t know what it is
Oh I have no idea what it is I don’t know kind of sweet pum sauce I think it’s pum  sauce it’s kind of good actually because the goose drippings on the rice is quite  yummy but the white rice is so flavor like where the goose drippings are is Â
Yummy but the white stuff is a bit l so I’m going to pour it on is itong pour Ivana we must go here I don’t know what they sell but has a Canada flag on it looks like pudding or Â
Like uh yogurt maybe he’s got Canadian milk or something hello Cur pudding oh soy yeah oh you  want to try with suami piece you try I’ll watch you okay uh actually I’ll get it with yeah I’ll Â
Get this one can try this one uh go go take away uh can I eat it can I eat here yes good one is  that what you expected not really but it uh it doesn’t look appetizing maybe it’s like Sesame Â
Or something it’s Sesame it’s not sweet at all wow am I supposed to like sugar yeah maybe brown sugar you’re going to add some sugar syrup okay so this is actually dessert  yeah I think so tofu tofu it’s like tofu in Malaysia TFA yeah it’s like Â
That but it’s very smooth I quite like it it’s like pudding okay so you don’t taste  a tunish ah okay very good love with sasami black sasami okay your face is not pink try  it try it try it no that’s okay that’s okay it’s okay I don’t like black food that often
It’s good though I like it I quite I like it it’s refreshing for dessert but we didn’t have  dinner yet no so listen guys we were trying to go for uh Clay Pot rice but it seems like the Â
Clay pot places closed and then open again at dinner we are looking for like actually Four  places in this area they’re all closed they’re all closed they’re all open at 5:30 but then  there’s going to be a big lineup probably mm so probably just going to end up having beef Â
Brisket noodle again that’s a daily eater in Hong Kong cuz the places are open and there’s no line  all right there you have it Ivana so what’s your final review of Hong Kong food final  review of Hong food overall it’s pretty good but the popular places lineup I’ve never seen Â
So many lineups in my life yeah true in a city you know what yeah it can be inconsistent with  uh quality versus the lineup also and then for me the most memorable part of Hong Kong food is the Â
Tiny sharing a table and the people yelling the experience is very memorable yes you know quite  often you share a table with other people and the staff are like let’s go let’s go there’s people  waiting you got to why we don’t really have any interaction with people here because people are Â
Like running around and they’re like so quick they don’t even smile to be honest very rarely  we see people smile here so all right there you have it guys a bit in a fail we’re trying to end Â
Off the video with claypot rice but let’s just go for some beef brisket noodle again all right  thanks for watching everybody you can enjoy your uh black pudding you going to all right d

I never bothered to even try Australian Dairy Co. when I was living in Hong Kong and my place was just about 50 metres from them.
Nice videođđI am so glad that u two did try good things in HKđ eventually!
I've been in Toronto for most of my life, but I was born in Hong Kong. You can find most of the things you ate in Hong Kong back in Toronto. However, prices in Toronto are much higher, as well as our taxes and tips.
Black food is good for you Steve.. I so funny… But Steve is good with chopsticks aka being eating bones meat đđ
đđđđđ
Your tastes buds must be confused, but I love it! You went to the michelin place -"nah, mediocre". Two weeks earlier, in a local diner that also doubles up as a lingerie shop; cook probably has holes in socks -"omg, 6 stars!"
đđđ˛đ
I prefer the baked bbq buns in HK. You should try the tea house where you can order some fried dough wrapped in rice roll.
In HK, you have to wait in long line for everything since there are so many people esp restaurants. If you want to try a tea house, it is better go there in the morning right when they open. Baked anything with( spaghetti, pork chops, sea food) cheese is so good.
The black tofu pudding is delicious and healthy
9:39 These dim sum vendors aren't going to give you the best experience. A restaurant, where the dishes are freshly steamed, would be much better. Some of the food at these vendors has been sitting over steam for way too long, resulting in tasteless, mushy food. 22:56 Bro, if you want eat like a local, eat rice from a plate with a spoon, not chopsticks, especially rice moistened by sauce. In Japan, fine, because they eat shorter grain rice, which sticks together, compared to long grain rice in Chinese cuisine. I always find in amusing in Western countries when I see people attempting to eat rice, including fried rice, from a plate with chopsticks.đ
All the so-called Hong Kong classic food relates to the local culture. People eat the memories and childhoods, not the tastes. It's normal when you found them "overrated", just because you don't understand and you're not locals.
Adding to "chaw294", Dim Sum can be interpreted as "a light snack that pulls gently on your heart string".
Do your research before making fun of Chinese ppl. Your comments are insensitive and degrading to the Chinese culture. Grow Up Bro!!!
The direct translation of dum sum means snack here say was originated from the imperial court of China. So it is a class of food (other example is hotpot) and believe the closest western equivalent is afternoon tea. It is not supposed to be a full meal and just as a snack to tie you between meals.
With living standard improved, it cascade down to the general public. And it gain propulaity in southern part of China. It originally serve as breakfast, and later become a full day affair, just like the full day breakfast, I believe.
You observations are correct and really enjoy your show.
I felt the same way about australian dairy. my wife got some soy milk thing which is what they're supposedly known for. I didn't try it.
Fun food adventure! The michelin noodle joint received its rating solely for their wonton and affordability, but dude, you went for the beef!? Also, typically, you would add red vinegar to the shrimpy broth to enhance the flavor.
Hong Kong has long been an international city and people like new ideas of cooking and new type of food. You can have nice Japanese food, Vietnamese food, North and South, East and West China food etc. Try all types of food, cheap and expensive one. The best egg waffle are those cooked with charcoal stove. It is more crispy.
Some locals love the Australian dairy co. too. Iâm a die hard fan đ donât think you can get all your ordered food within seconds in any other restaurants. The best item is not the macaroni, itâs the scrambled eggs (so smooth and strong butter flavour ) and also their steamed egg / milk desserts. Some found their staff rude, but theyâre very efficient (just hope the customers will order quickly đ). Theyâre known for very gentle and nice to pregnant women and elderly people.
The bean curd dessert shop with Canadian flag on its menu says they use non-GMO soy bean from Canada.
Dim sum can be said as Chinese tapas đ anything petite, snack. Typical dim sum 'ha kau' shrimp dumpling 'siu mai' with pork and shrimp, and more. Each restaurant has its own secret recipe and types of food, in order to be outstanding and competitive from hundreds of high standard restaurants in HK. Enjoy HK!
Wow, the food in HK looks amazing! Hope to visit there soon đ
Yummy / delicious street food. Absolutely Outstanding
The first waffle-like cake is called âegg kidâ in local language đit is crispy on the outside & soft on the insideđđ¤¤it is my favourite snack!
when i was a kid, these waffle egg store use fire stove, now no real fire? haiya….
dim sum, dim = a little bit, sum = heart
or may be "just a little bit".
the duck needs more sauce but looks awesome food
welcome to HK:)
welcome to Hong Kong
25:51 probably they use Canadian soybeans
It's not Michelin starred, it's only Michelin recommended. If you think it's starred, then how many stars did they get?
