Otaru, Hokkaido: Winter wonderland in Hokkaido | Japan Travel Vlog

Good morning~ Oops, I mean good afternoon, haha. Even though it’s a trip, I still find it difficult to wake up early… Soup Curry “Daruo” The beginning of soup curry as “herbal curry” in a cafe, In the 1970s, the owner of a cafe in Sapporo first made it for his father’s health.

It’s completely different from ordinary Japanese curry. Whether it’s made for health reasons or not, it feels healthy. You can add a variety of toppings, including meat, seafood, and vegetables! Bon appétit!! Chuo Market Completely opposite to the Sankaku Market, which is a 3-minute walk away, there are hardly any people here.

It seems like locals come here rather than tourists. For some reason, the room from the Showa era are reproduced. Personally, I like this market, which is quiet and retro This is how the market is divided into three buildings.

When I first entered, I thought it was a seafood market, but as I walked around, various shops appeared, which is interesting! For some reason, I feel like I’ve become a local when I’m here, haha. It’s heartwarming.

It’s good to eat out everywhere in Otaru, but buying various side dishes here and snacking at the hotel might be good too. I just noticed, but the place I initially thought was the first building was actually the second building…

The atmosphere has changed quite a bit, and there were food stores and the like lined up. Looking at the snow like this, I remember the time when I first came to Hokkaido. At 19, I worked part-time for the first time and set out on a journey with that money.

At that time, I had no idea what to do for my future, and I had even taken a break from university. And so, armed with a Boston bag and a camera, I set off for Japan. Just two hours. I never dreamed that such a different world existed.

And the sight I saw for the first time. Sound, Taste, Smell. I was moved by all of it. A young man walking around with a big camera, A girl confidently walking around in her favorite cosplay, A young man dancing alone in the middle of the night. And I thought.

Maybe I can find my dream here. Two years later, after completing my military service, I started living alone in Japan. Niina started drawing something! Thank you! Haha And we found a cafe! We’ve walked quite a bit, so it’s perfect timing to take a break! Komeda’s Coffee Shop

When I lived in Japan, I had heard the name before, but it’s my first time coming here. Komeda Coffee Shop is a popular coffee shop franchise in Japan. (which originated from Nagoya) They are famous for a thick-sliced toast called “Shirono-whirl.” (I wish I had tried it if I had known…)

The Otaru branch looks like this. (The atmosphere of the branches varies depending on the region.) You can enjoy drinks, desserts, and meals, of course. This thing on the left is the famous “Shirono-whirl” However, unfortunately, I didn’t order it… You can feel the commitment of Komeda Coffee Shop from various places.

When you order a drink, they also give you a small snack. It’s cold, but since it was unusual, I ordered a coffee shake! Niina ordered cafe au lait. And as soon as you cross the crosswalk , it’s Otaru Canal! And if you cross two more crosswalks, it’s the sea! Otaru Warehouse No.1

Otaru Warehouse No.1 is a beer pub inside a brewery. Although Otaru Beer has two breweries, this is one of them. (The other one is in Zenibako.) By the way, the beer I drank at a ramen shop in Otaru Episode 1 was Otaru Beer.

On the first floor, you can enjoy the chef’s prideful dishes using local ingredients, delicious Otaru Beer, and special beer for each season. On Thursdays and Saturdays, Otaru Beer is all-you-can-drink for 3 hours. (2,200 yen per person)

Otaru Warehouse No.1 offers free brewery tours every day. (* Tours are conducted every 30 minutes from 11:10 to 17:10) Otaru Beer is sold at the entrance on the first floor. It might be good as a souvenir! It’s snowing again! Walking in the snow feels great! And I found this place!

Sea urchin specialty store Yoichiya Otaru Canal Store Started in Yoichi, Hokkaido, this sea urchin specialty store has four stores in Hokkaido. Even though it’s a sea urchin specialty store, there are various seafood bowls other than sea urchin, so please try them. This is amazing…( 1,980 yen)

It makes me excited just to look at it. The store closes at 5 o’clock, so I recommend coming early. (4:30 is last order) And I really like the atmosphere of the store! It seems like it’s snowing more than before… And the famous 167 oil lamps in Otaru light up. “Kitaichi Hall”

We were supposed to go there… but it was full. Moreover, there were more than 15 people waiting. By the way, this is how it looks inside! When I asked Niina if she wanted ice cream, she said she wanted to go Here ! Rokkatei

We came here last time, but the dessert shop was closed, so we couldn’t eat dessert, but today they were still open! A cream puff with plenty of custard cream! And a snow-covered cheese sandwiched between cocoa biscuits Yukikokon Cheese

When I paid, I was told that the store would close soon. (Don’t worry, I left before the store closed.) The store is closing, so we rushed to taste it standing up! We took a short break at the hotel and then went out again. And We stumbled upon an izakaya while walking!

This is great! It’s like a miracle that there’s still an open restaurant in Otaru that closes so early! There was no choice but to go. Whisky soda is 245 yen!!! This is cheap! Looking at the familiar menu of izakaya, I feel reassured haha.

I feel like I walked around Otaru a lot, but there seemed to be really few izakayas. I thought it was tea, but it was chicken broth. It was delicious! Chicken and spring onion skewer, which I love! The price was a bit expensive , but the grilled chicken was really delicious!

I had a drink, so it’s getting lively haha. Niina is enjoying the last night in Otaru! This is what they call happiness, I guess. Night walk when you come to Otaru! Highly recommended. It’s quiet and peaceful! Lawson in front of the hotel!

The last night in Otaru, I can’t just go to bed like this haha. Late-night snacks are exceptional, especially when enjoyed late at night! It’s even more special, especially when it’s a late-night snack during a trip. And beer! Oops… Don’t forget the sausages. And ketchup and mustard!

For ramen, it’s always best to go for the limited-time ones. Are you ready? If you enjoyed the video, please click the like button. If you want to see more new videos, please subscribe to the channel. Thank you very much! ^^
