鹿児島旅行の必見 仙厳園で体験する究極の癒しと美しさ、日本旅行の魅力。

Hello there. I am Japan in sight / Kaol. Continuing from last time, this is the Kagoshima trip section! This is Shiroyama Park in Kagoshima City. This park offers a panoramic view of Sakurajima. Oh wow! That’s a spectacular view…! Great way to start the trip! I’m excited!

We’ve arrived in Kagoshima City and decided to visit Senganen, the former mansion of the Shimazu clan. Senganen was built in 1658. Magnificent scenery including Kinko Bay and Sakurajima is beautiful. The palace has been loved by successive generations of the Shimazu family and served as a guest house at that time. Let’s go inside!

The palace was temporarily used as the main residence during the reign of the 29th Tadayoshi, It also served as a “guest house” to which domestic and foreign dignitaries were invited. Atsuhime (Princess Atsushi) and Kaisyu Katsu, a vassal of the shogun, were among the guests at the end of the Tokugawa shogunate.

After the restoration, Czar Nicholas II of Russia, visited King Edward VIII of England as crown prince. The courtyard of the palace is beautiful. Satsuma-yaki was started by potters who came from Korea at the end of the 16th century, It is one of the representative crafts of Kagoshima.

This beautiful “modern Satsuma ware” was born during the reign of Nariakira. A courtyard overlooking a pond. There is an octagonal depression in the pond, You can feel the influence of Chinese culture (Feng Shui). I spent about 30 minutes looking at the courtyard because it was so beautiful.

This is a very nice Japanese garden. Kagoshima Prefecture has many sights. Please check out my previous trip to Ibusuki, Kagoshima! Unlike other daimyo’s gardens, Senganen Garden does not have a large pond or artificial hill. This is because Kinko Bay and Sakurajima are right in front of it.

This view, said to be the most beautiful view of Sakurajima, has been loved by successive generations of the Shimazu family. The audience room was used to receive guests.

This is a room with two rooms next to each other, and the corridor is also covered with tatami mats, it was possible to meet with many people at once. This was the room where Tadayoshi spent most of his day, He would make decisions about documents and have lunch.

This is the room with the best view of the entire garden. Bathroom for the exclusive use of the head of the family. At that time, water was boiled in a separate place and brought in. Really nice view!

This is indeed one of the most famous gardens in Japan and one of the most famous sights in Kagoshima. Time passes slowly. I wish I could stay here all day. This is the main gate of the Edo period. The roof is not made of tiles but of tin, a specialty of Kagoshima.

Very nice varnish. Thanks again for watching! Definitely watch out for the next one!!!
