🚅 전구간 개방! 충청과 경북을 잇는 ‘9km’ 비경 여행 코스 7 | 📸 대중교통 당일치기 기차 여행 | 트레킹 | 🇰🇷 Cliff trekking in Korea

Hello? Today I came to catch the early morning train 🙂 Today I am going to catch the first train at ‘Yeongdeungpo Station’ It’s only six o’clock The train I will take today is the ‘Mugunghwa’ departing at 6:04. I first saw Cafe Khan on the Mugunghwa. This is car number 4.

Can I sit facing the window like this? There is also a 220v outlet. Anyone can use Car 4 comfortably without reservation. Let’s go now! Raindrops have been falling since last night until morning. The train passes ‘Daejeon Station’ and continues running. After driving for about 3 hours, we arrived at today’s destination.

It’s a very quiet country station. There was a crock pot on the train platform like this? It was amazing 🙂 There is also an old passenger waiting room at the station. This is ‘Hwanggan Station’ in Chungcheongbuk-do. ‘Hwanggan Station’ is an old station that opened over 110 years ago.

Currently, only the Mugunghwa train runs four times a day in Seoul. It’s a small train station with only one employee, but the interior is cute. It was a traditional station that opened in 1905 🙂 But I was a bit confused because there was nothing in front of the train station.

Like the garden of a country house It was decorated cutely. This monument is a memorial to patriot Lee Kun-seok. When I go to the front of the station, there is a small staircase. These stairs are called ‘Olbaengi’ stairway. ‘Olbaengi’ is the Chungcheong dialect of ‘Daseulgi’

When I came down the stairs, it wasn’t very big, but there were shops all along. A clear river flows in front of the station. It is called ‘Super Gangcheon’. It’s so romantic to see a river flowing in front of the train station, isn’t it?

There are not many restaurants and cafes in front of ‘Hwanggan Station’, so it was convenient. There was also a large convenience store, so I packed some snacks to eat while trekking. There is ‘Olbaengi’ street right next to it, and the ‘Daseulgi’ restaurant is right next to it.

I left early this morning and couldn’t eat breakfast. I solved it deliciously here 🙂 It’s a hangover soup with plenty of ‘doseulgi’. It was very refreshing and delicious After eating a hearty breakfast, we start trekking at the bridge called ‘Geumsanggyo’ right in front of the restaurant. Cross the ‘Geumsanggyo’ bridge and turn left.

You can walk along ‘Chogangcheon’. There were a lot of cherry trees along the river. It would be really nice in spring, right? If you go up a little bit along the river, there is a small bridge. cross to the other side

The river water was so clear that you could clearly see the bottom. Cross the bridge and continue walking to the right. This bridge that you will soon see is ‘Woryu Bridge’. The view is better if you cross the ‘Wolryugyo’ bridge and take the left side road.

As I entered the side road, a particularly sharp mountain slope caught my eye. Come to think of it, the mountains surrounding me There were many mountains with unusual shapes. If you go up a little further, you will see a bridge called ‘Wonchon Bridge’,

And if you turn left from here, today’s trekking course begins. It took about 30 minutes to walk from ‘Hwanggan Station’? You can take a taxi, but walking was sufficient. The deck path is very good. The trekking course leads towards the riverside. The road along the riverside is also neatly maintained.

The sharp mountain seen in the distance is even more impressive when viewed up close. Moreover, it is a cliff that is almost vertical. Because it’s winter, you can also see traces of an ice waterfall. The more you walk, the more beautiful the surrounding scenery becomes. There is a tombstone on the right.

It is called ‘Song Si-yeol Yuheobi’. It is said that this monument announces that Uam Song Si-yeol lived in seclusion here and taught academics. It is said to be a monument erected during the reign of King Jeongjo.

I saw a scenery that could be said to be spectacular. I kind of understand why he took refuge here. This place is ‘Wolryubong’, which means that even the moon stays here. It’s a truly amazing view. Five sharp peaks The harmony of the picturesque pavilion in front of it is like an oriental painting.

You can get here by taxi from the train station in about 5 minutes. It’s a good distance to walk at your leisure like I did. The trail continues to the left of the ‘Wolryubong’ pavilion. Course 1 ‘Yeoul Sori-gil’ begins immediately. The length of course 1 is approximately 2.7km.

There is also a hiking course that goes up to the top of Wolryubong Peak. I came back to ‘Wonchon Bridge’ that I crossed a little while ago. The path continues to the left of ‘Wonchon Bridge’. Can you see the precarious deck path attached to the cliff in the distance? After passing ‘Wonchon Bridge’,

The trail continues to the left. There is a very nice deck path next to the steep cliff. Migratory birds and ducks are often seen in the river next door. The weather is cloudy today, but it seems even more serene. Course 2 is a harmonious course with a deck path and a riverside path.

As the name ‘Yeoul Sori-gil’ suggests, it is a road where you can continuously hear the loud sound of water. Personally, I was able to walk in a good mood because there were such good words 🙂 There are some stairs, but the incline is not steep, so you can walk comfortably.

I think course 1 would be great at any time of the year. The end of course 1 is now in sight. It took about 40 minutes from departure. There is also a restroom at the end of Course 1.

The end of Course 1 and the beginning of Course 2 is a bridge called ‘Wanjeonggyo’. Cross ‘Wanjeonggyo Bridge’ and the trail continues to the right of the bridge. As soon as you cross the bridge, the second course ‘Sansae Sound Trail’ begins to the right. The length is approximately 3.2km.

The second course is a flat deck road on a cliff. This is a barrier-free course that anyone can use. There are almost no stairs, so you can walk more comfortably. There is also good protection against falling rocks. There are many shelters as well. The river flowing leisurely on the right is called ‘Seokcheon’.

There are a lot of people who catch Daseulgi. Even though the weather is cold, you are truly amazing! In the second course, you can walk on a flat deck like this. The height of the deck road is about 5m, so it looks a lot higher than it looks.

A red arch bridge can be seen in the distance. It’s called ‘Mokgyo’. Please note that there is a restroom across from ‘Mokgyo’. Just pass ‘Mokgyo’ and keep going straight. After the deck road is over, go right along the farm road. From here, the course passes through the village.

There were nice cafes along the way, so it was nice to take a break. Pass the bridge called ‘Baekhwagyo’ and continue through the village. After passing the village, the third course ‘Scenic Sound Road’ begins. The length is approximately 2.5km. The third course is a nature-friendly course without a deck road.

It’s a completely different atmosphere from courses 1 and 2, right? In particular, it seems to be very windy, perhaps due to the geographical characteristics. There are two stepping stones in the third course. The first stepping stone has arrived Be careful of slippery water when it is frozen. The scenery is very refreshing, right?

The second stepping stone came right away. This stepping stone looks like it was recently built. Cross the stepping stones and go up to the left. If you walk down the paved road, you will reach the final bridge, ‘Banya Bridge’. Cross ‘Banya Bridge’ and go to the right.

This place is also connected to the ‘Baekhwasan’ hiking trail. Cross the bridge and walk straight to the right. The trail now leads to a temple called ‘Banyasa’. But the road to ‘Banyasa Temple’ is really nice. First, a dense bamboo forest welcomes you. The bamboo is so thick that you can’t see the sky.

It feels like a tiger will jump out, right? 🙂 The green bamboo forest in the middle of winter was really unexpected. It was a pleasant meeting! There is a small vacant lot in the middle of the bamboo forest. There is a ‘Gwaneum Statue’ in the middle of the vacant lot.

It felt like a place where the spirit of Baekhwasan Mountain gathers, so I had no choice but to make a wish 🙂 This wonderful pine tree is said to be over 200 years old. After passing through the bamboo forest, you can finally see ‘Banyasa Temple’ in the distance.

To walk to ‘Banyasa Temple’, you have to cross a small stone bridge. It took about 3 hours to depart from ‘Wolryubong’. The end point of the ‘Wolryubong’ trail is ‘Banyasa Temple’. ‘Banyasa Temple’ is a thousand-year old temple that is said to have been founded by Master Wonhyo during the Silla Dynasty.

Actually, there is something else that is more famous. As you can see in this picture, there is a picture of a tiger on the mountain. The shape of the naturally flowing stone pile looks like a tiger with its tail raised. Therefore, ‘Banyasa Temple’ is also called Tiger Day.

It’s winter now so there are no leaves so it’s hard to see. Still, if you look closely, you can see the shape of a tiger. There is also Treasure No. 1371, a three-story stone pagoda. And temple stay is also in operation. When you come to ‘Banyasa Temple’, you cannot miss ‘Munsujeon Hall’.

It takes about 5 minutes to climb the slope, but it is definitely worth a visit. It is built precariously on top of a steep cliff called ‘Mangyeongdae’. This is ‘Munsu-jeon’ The road to ‘Munsujeon’ is dizzying. The scenery from here is truly spectacular.

It’s amazing how a temple was built in a place like this. You can walk back from ‘Banya Temple’ and return to the starting point, but I plan to take a taxi today and stop by one more place. The call taxi phone number is posted at the bus stop.

If you ask nearby stores, most of them will tell you. The place we arrived at after about 20 minutes was ‘Nogunri Peace Park’. It’s a fairly large park. This place was created to commemorate the tragic place where more than 200 residents were killed by US military fire during the Korean War.

There are several symbolic statues erected in the park. The statue of the mother and son being shot is heartbreaking… Across the street from Peace Park is the ‘Ssanggull Bridge’ where a tragic incident took place. It is designated as Modern Cultural Heritage No. 59. When I got closer, I saw countless bullet marks.

My heart aches because it reminds me of the tragedy of that day. It’s a tragedy that should never happen again. There was a set like this at Peace Park and a few things to see. The memorial hall leading underground has reproductions of materials and tunnels related to the time.

If you are interested, it would be a good idea to come and visit. ‘Hwanggan-myeon’ has poor public transportation, so I mainly use taxis, but luckily a bus came and I was able to take it. The bus I took was number 642.

I boarded the car around 2:50, but I don’t think it’s the exact time. It took about 5 minutes to get back to ‘Hwanggan Station’ I always end my trip with a meal of local specialties 🙂 Today, I had a delicious and filling meal with ‘Olbaengi pancake’ and special makgeolli.

A drink after trekking is the best advantage of travelers using public transportation 🙂 There are trains from ‘Hwanggan Station’ to Seoul three times a day. The last train was at 4:18pm, so it was perfect. If you walk back from ‘Banyasa Temple’ instead of taking a taxi,

Total walking time will be approximately 6 hours. Today, I introduced you to a remote trekking course that takes you on the Mugunghwa train. I plan to come again in the winter when there is a lot of snow. The restaurant owner said that the snow scenery is very nice 🙂

I hope this helps you plan your trip wisely. Thank you for watching today!
