We are very delighted to be your tour guide for today in the land of Sanrio Harmonyland [Explore Oita Japan] Harmonyland is located in Hiji Town in Oita Prefecture Tucked away in a beautiful forest area because it’s so secluded you feel like you’re in a different world Did you know that there are only 2 Sanrio theme parks here in Japan?

One is located in Tokyo called Sanrio Puroland and this one right here Harmonyland is the only Sanrio theme park with outdoor attractions Isn’t it cool? What is the best way to start our trip in Harmonyland? Getting Sanrio headbands? Of course! Let’s get those There are 4 merchandise stores here in Harmonyland that you can visit

And one of them is Country Market Let’s go! Here we are in Kitty Castle Look how cool it is! Now, let’s go take a look inside Kitty’s room Let’s go! It’s pretty spacious I guess this is her room Very interesting Hello Kitty is one of the most iconic characters created in Japan She is known worldwide for her cuteness and kindness After entering Kitty’s Castle it looks like she gave us a gift – It’s us! – With her! That’s so cute, isn’t it? Here’s my favorite ride in the park but apparently not for Issei I don’t feel good [Birds singing] [Birds singing] Issei and I are going for lunch now Here we are at the restaurant called Harvest Table Harvest Table is one of the 4 dining areas here in Harmonyland What makes this restaurant special is the character menu and the little robot waiter Here’s our order I got Pompompurin Curry And I got Hello Kitty Curry Look how cute it is Yes, I can’t wait to dig in Let’s dig in Oh, so good There are several other cute dishes and a menu for kids as well Look! I can try that one It was really tough for me I’m really bad at aiming Guys, that was the ride that is newly opened here in Harmonyland Don’t miss this ride if you come here So cute That ride felt so short  and it was moving so fast I wanted to see more We’re at the Sanrio Characters Fun Plaza Besides the photo booth they have arcade games and they have a section where you can make your own keychain This will be the peak of your Harmonyland experience, the parade! There’s only one parade per day so time your activity so you don’t miss it I had so much fun trying new attractions having a good lunch and getting myself a new headband Well, what’s your favorite part of this trip? I think my favorite was riding the Sanrio Character Boat Ride I didn’t expect to meet all the Sanrio characters in one ride That’s cool, right?

This time, our hosts visited Harmonyland, one of Japan’s two Sanrio theme parks.

This outdoor theme park is filled with attractions featuring Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty and My Melody, which can be enjoyed with beautiful views of seasonal nature. And fret notーeven on rainy days, the undercover stage ensures you can still see wonderful shows!

First up, our hosts headed for the Country Market, which sells sweets perfect for souvenirs, as well as an assortment of Harmonyland original goods, so you’ll definitely want to drop in.

Next, they made their way to Kitty Castle, home of the beloved character Hello Kitty. The castle’s pink silhouette catches the eye even from afar, and the furniture and accessories are utterly adorable and elegant, perfect for Hello Kitty. Of course, you’ll be able to greet and take a photo with Hello Kitty herself.

Next to Kitty Castle is the Rhythmic Coaster, a colorful rollercoaster designed like rollerskates. How will our thrill-avoiding host handle it?! For thrill-seekers, we absolutely recommend taking a ride!

For lunch, our hosts stopped at Harvest Table, which serves delicious meals inspired by Sanrio characters. In addition to adorable plates adorned by the likes of Pompompurin and Hello Kitty, must-try limited-edition menu items are also available.

Our hosts then spent the rest of the afternoon making their way through the other cute and exciting attractions. They met loads of Sanrio characters on the Harmony Train, Sanrio Character Boat Ride, and more!

Finally, they checked out the Sanrio Characters Fan Plaza, where you can get name holders and make your own souvenirs at the sticker printing machine; as well as the dazzling Parade Parallel, where they saw an adorable performance from Sanrio characters on an undercover stage with a large 360° screen.

With lush nature, attractions for the whole family, almost-daily live shows, and illumination events for each season, Harmonyland is worth visiting anytime of the year! Be sure to add it to your Oita sightseeing itinerary.
