ベルファストを拠点に北アイルランド全土を巡る / 海外旅行Vlog
I’ve just arrived in Belfast from Derry/Londonderry. It seems that the pride parade is on in Belfast today. I’m not sure if they are a part of it but I saw so many marching bands. According to a local person, Belfast has many good Asian restaurants.
So I’m gonna try one of them. He recommended this Pho place called Madam Pho, so I went to this place. I got beef brisket Pho. It’s a nicely gentle taste. I’m content and now going to have a walk. Finally came to a quiet riverside area.
That building over there is Titanic Belfast, which is the Titanic Museum. Northern Ireland has a lot of Game of Thrones locations, so there are these kinds of monuments in Belfast too. If you come closer, you see the details of the beautiful architecture.
I like the film, but I’m not really interested in how the shipment was built so I didn’t go into the museum. Just enjoyed the gift shop. These are cute stuff. Behind the museum, there is a port and you can see the shipyard Titanic was built.
Finally found one of the pride parade events venues. The event is done and people are going to drink. I saw this type of vehicle at the London Pride Parade too but is that something they have in every pride parade? This gorgeous building is the city hall.
It was a Belfast city centre sightseeing day. Today, I joined this Giant’s Causeway and Game of Thrones day tour. Many of GOT scenes were shot in Northern Ireland. I love the series so hopefully I’ll enjoy this tour that visits GOT locations and Giant’s Causeway.
The tour starts from the Belfast city centre and drives along the coast. As we keep driving along the coast, I recommend to take a seat on the right side. You’ll see the beautiful coastal view on the right side.
After the castle, we stop by a harbour town, and have a short free time. There are boats at the harbour and it has a nice atmosphere. It’s beautiful here. Luckily, it is sunny today and can enjoy the beautiful scenery. There are so many bikers and cyclists as well.
This place is one of the locations, and this is the location of a harbour scene Arya was in. We are heading to the next destination. We came further north to a town called Cushendun. We didn’t have much time here so just walked around.
There is a beach and if you have time, you can walk along the beach. Let’s have a cup of tea. The inside looks like this and has a cute interior. To be honest, the Northern Irish accent is too strong and I didn’t get much of what the guide was saying.
So I’m not sure what’s special about this place but just enjoyed walking around. Heading to the next place. Here is the famous GOT location, Dark Hedges. This place appeared often in the series. Dark Hedges and Giant’s Causeway are the main attractions of this tour.
And we had a few seconds to stop here to take pictures of the castle. Finally, we are at Giant’s Causeway. This is the view from the upper area. If you walk down, you see the famous rocks. This is a big tourist attraction so very busy.
You can’t even take pictures without having many people in them. There is a local train station near Giant’s Causeway. I still had a bit of time so came to have a look. Giant’s Causeway is the last stop and the tour ends at Belfast city centre. This is the GOT bus!
Today is my last day in Belfast and I’m going to the GOT studio tour. This is the actual studio they filmed. The inside is like this. You can leave your luggage in the cloak and there is an entrance. The opening was a great surprise and exciting performance.
They have actual costumes, sets, props and stuff. It’s a dynamic series so those sets are huge as well, and it was exciting to see them in person. You can see the weapons of each character and house, how the music was composed, and so many other facts behind the scenes.
Lastly, you can see the iron throne. If you pay for £20 or 25, you get your photograph on the throne. I didn’t do that though. You can enjoy shopping the gifts in the end.
