His Tokyo accent was GAY? Overcoming all odds at Japanese Yatai!
Cheers to this Hakata night! Even me who is from Tokyo can open a food stall where locals gather. The friends I have made though running this stall are all giving me support. And I’m working hard no to pay them all back. I’m originally from Tokyo.
My wife is from Fukuoka, and I came here to help her dad run his food stall. There were many hardships to overcome. Like the language barrier for example. If you speak standard Japanese people will make fun of you. And even when making Ramen…
I’d often be told that the Ramen I make are not real ‘Hakata Ramen’, and people wouldn’t eat what I made. We have more than 100 dishes on our menu. I think around 138 dishes. That’s only the basic menu, we have around 20 special items too. Since we do daily specials too.
It’s our pride that we are the Yatai with the biggest menu. I don’t think there’s a place that has more dishes. We serve Tempura and chicken skewers, and also Ramen, fried rice and similar dishes, and Chinese cuisine inspired dishes too. We get our veggies from Itoshima, and make Tempura with them.
We’re quite particular about the ingredients we use. Since it’s a food stall, hot and cold weather will have an influence on the ingredients. And sometimes it doesn’t have the best effect on the vegetables. So we try to get the freshest vegetables possible. And Itoshima veggies are great.
We also have a butcher who we are directly working with, and we also get seasonal ingredients from other various places. Please be as favorable as possible. Cheers! A plate of beef hanging tender please. That’s all for now! Your steamed scallion! Here’s your beef hanging tender plate! Cheers to this Hakata night!
Thanks for the food! Been a long time since I’ve had this, but the Tonkotsu Ramen here really are great! Light and simple! They’re cheap too, and have such a gentle taste. My friend who’s a designer made this T-shirt! And lots of my friends bought it too, and wear it when coming here.
My regulars have been coming here for a long time. During COVID we had to shorten our business hours, and didn’t know how things would turn out. But we were always packed thanks to the regulars. And I won’t forget the gratefulness I felt then.
We can make this food stall work thanks to all of their support. I’m a local! And a regular! Guys, say something! I’m not joking when I say this is Japan’s No.1! The food is delicious & cheap, and the people working here are kind!
It’s a warm place. And the regulars are awesome people! Actually, I started going out with a girl who I was sitting next to here! And we’ll get married soon! Congrats! Thanks! We really hope this place will continue as it is, a Yatai with a fun and friendly atmosphere! Want to meet you all!
Come visit! Even me who is from Tokyo can open a food stall where locals gather. The friends I have made though running this stall are all giving me support. And I’m working hard no to pay them all back. Here’s your pollack roe omelet!
He’s been looking out for me since I was in my teens. I think of opening my own stall someday in the future. I can’t do the same thing as the manager here, but I want to create something like this the best I can.
I think it’s amazing how he can gather regulars together and entertain them. I’m learning. I’ve been working with the manager for 5 years now. I have nothing but gratitude. There’s a lot of regulars coming, but we are working hard to make this a space that first timers can enjoy too.
Your fried chicken! We’re from Akita and making a roundtrip through Kyushu! I brought my girl on a golden wedding anniversary trip. ‘My girl’ (laugh) The pollack row omelet was great, and had good spiciness She wasn’t really convinced when we ordered it, but when we tried it it was really delicious!
His father in Law thought his Tokyo accent was gay and he couldn’t run a Fukuoka, Yatai. He overcame all odds and made one of the friendliest and tasty Yatai’s in Tenjin!

A must-see every day to kill time. It’s really delicious.

Wow that takes alot to set up with a large menu. The beef hanging tender sounds delightful. Your regulars have a great spirit and loyalty. Peace and howdy from the state of Texas and us at Tex-Yatai
@13:23 I finally saw a dish that I could make with my abilities in a kitchen, eggs in a bowl. I guess that is why I enjoy watching videos with street carts and what the chefs can do outdoors.
clickbait bullshit nonsense.
I love watching these yatai videos.
Amazing video, so natural and real, shows how people really enjoy regular food, amazing ambient place, and regular people. Well done, and keep going.
Bravo ❤
Cool
Very good video addicted to your content ❤
It's me again, Mr. Pepperpyre reminding you that you're nobody 'til somebody loves you. And that somebody is me. I love you.
?? The video title is really offensive. Are you out of your mind ? The channel owner is really dirty minded.
Your subtitles is more GAY.
Love these yatai videos, but I always wondered if they make enough money to pay 2-3 workers and make a profit.
He does sound sort of gay though.
Nagyszerű videó ❤❤❤
Hi, may I work with them?
