【Japan vlog】Kurashiki Bikan Historical quarter, Okayama |日帰りで倉敷美観地区
Thank you for visiting my channel! Please subscribe and support my channel 🙂 I went to Kurashiki Bikan Historical quarter, Okayama with my friend 😊 It takes 1 hour by Shinkansen from Hiroshima. 1 day trip. Limited flavor in my area, so good! We’re waiting for train now.
We’re going left after exit gate. We are almost there 😊 It’s about 15 minutes walk. It was faster to go there through shopping arcade. This wall design is called “Namako wall” The white clay joints are similar to Namako (sea cucumber) which its name origin.
This townscape, known for the characteristically Japanese white walls of its residences. Enjoy with us one day trip in Bikan Historical quarter 😊 It’s really pretty wall. (Namako Wall) First, we’re going to get tickets for the boat tour.
The boat tickets sell only on the same day as the tour. They run 9:30a – 5pm every 30 min. We bought tickets in the morning for 1:30p tour. You can book it in the day at information. (500 yen)
Those balls are called Sugidama. Sake brewers and merchants typically hang sugidama around February or March to indicate the arrival of freshly pressed sake brewed over the recent winter.
The balls are bright green at first, but gradually change color, eventually turning dark brown around autumn. This change reflects the maturation of the sake. Kitaro (Japanese manga) denim products. They also have peach sake and juice. It’s 50% off! 😁 Small pouch is 1,200 yen.
Eel rice ball 🍙 It was so good! Miffy store!😍 I don’t want to eat that cute face! It was actually good 🥹 It’s time to get on the boat👍🏻 He gave us interesting historical talk about this area 🙂 There are Koi fish.
This bridge is called Nakabashi which is stone bridge built in 1877. There are 2 long stones (90 ton each) and they don’t have any records how it’s brought here. We had a good time and view from the boat😊 Okayama is very famous for peaches and grapes.. Looking for fruit Sake here.
I bought peach sake. I wish I could get these mini denim, little pricey (1,900yen) She bought coin purse, I bought coaster for souvenirs. Kurashiki is the birthplace of the domestic jeans industry that has produced Japanese jeans for the first time. Denim steamed bun.. Is it like pork bun in blue color?
I was curious but didn’t try🤔 There are some clothing stores. Beautiful bamboo garden. Peach parfait was sold out everywhere in the afternoon 🥲 We should’ve had it when we found. Did you like this trip? ☺️ It was first time to visit here. I really enjoyed!
We’re going to have sweet potato brûlée in shopping street 😁 We wanted to stop on the way back 😊 It was really good ! We’re going home Hiroshima 😊 We also went to Kyoto together last time when I was home. Where should we go next? ☺️ Thank you for watching 🙂

Such a cool place! Reminds me so much of Kyoto. Didn't know about the peaches or the origination of Denim in Japan there! I want to go!
