【鹿児島旅行1】 鹿児島グルメ&観光2泊3日の旅!1日目 鹿児島王道観光グルメを50代夫婦が巡る! 1日目の総額はいくら!?

Hello! This is Chubu International Airport. We’re off to Kagoshima for a 2-night, 3-day trip. We’re in our mid-50s. Focused on sightseeing and cuisine. Staying in separate single rooms. We spend the evenings apart, that’s our travel style. At the end of the video, I’ll share the cost for the first day,

So please watch till the end. We’re flying Solaseed Air one-way (¥6,140 per person). Here’s the seat pitch. I’m 163 cm tall. Taka-san is 184 cm. Can’t cross our legs, can we? Arrived at Kagoshima Airport. Called the rental car company to notify them of our arrival and waited a bit. The shuttle has arrived.

Rental car costs ¥12,800 for return in two days’ time in the evening. Heading to Kagoshima City. First up, lunch. Arrived before opening, but there’s already a queue! Tonkatsu Take-Tei. Didn’t make it in the first round and waited about 30 minutes. We both chose the upper fillet cutlet set.

The miso soup tasted like koji or sake lees. Pouring sauce over it. Delicious😋 Comes with a mince cutlet too. Yeah, tasty😋 Thank you for the meal! (¥2,800 for two) Tsuke-Donburiya Sakura Kan Kagoshima Store. Though we just ate, Kagoshima is famous for its amberjack, so we had to check it out. Tsuke-don (¥900).

Comes with miso soup. “Uh-huh.” “Sweet and appetizing.” Toro Tsuke-don (¥1,400). The bowl is brimming with rice. The fish slices are larger compared to the regular Tsuke-don. “Tasty, isn’t it?” It had a sweet flavoring like Unadon. Heading to the ferry terminal for Sakurajima. Ah, the ferry is just arriving.

Can we make it on that one? Great, we made it! The fare is ¥1,200 one way for the car ferry (including the driver). Plus ¥200 for one adult. Car ferry rates vary based on vehicle length. Let’s go up to the Sky Deck! As we pass the ferry coming back from Sakurajima,

Our ferry starts to move. It’s too cold to stay outside, so we’ve come to the observation room. The front seats offer a spectacular view of Sakurajima. There’s even a udon shop inside the Sakurajima Ferry. We were too full to try it this time. Arrived at Sakurajima! Time to disembark.

Yunohira Lookout is about an 11-minute drive from Sakurajima Port. Parking is free. Yunohira Lookout is the highest point accessible to the public. You can see the entire cityscape of Kagoshima! Next, we’re heading to the Arimura Lava Observatory. It’s about a 20-minute drive from Yunohira Lookout. The parking is free.

There’s a rest house with toilets and exhibition rooms. The warning sign reading, “Beware of flying rocks during eruptions,” is a bit startling. 😨 We’ll proceed along the promenade surrounded by lava. These stairs were a bit tough for me. 😅 At the top of the stairs, there was an observation deck.

“The plants on the volcano are robust.” Let’s go to another gazebo. It looks like Godzilla’s skin… There are shelters scattered around. We’ve made it! Heading back to the parking lot, passing by the third gazebo. The sea is sparkling. ✨ The wind is strong, and ash is swirling. 😵 Michi-no-Eki Sakurajima Hinoshima Megumi-kan.

There are souvenir shops and a restaurant. They sell parfaits and soft-serve ice cream. Komikan (small mandarin) soft serve (¥300). “It has a refreshing taste.” We’re heading back to Kagoshima Port. Parking the car at the hotel’s parking (¥1,100 per day). Hotel Hokke Club Kagoshima.

We’ll drop our bags in the room and head to Tenmonkan. Tenmonkan. We walk through the shopping district, passing by someone singing “Tenmonkan~♪” in the square. Tenmonkan Mujyaki. We were guided to the casual restaurant side of Mujyaki. The interior has a retro vibe, like an old café.

Ordered a regular-sized Shirokuma and Janbomochi (¥1,200). “It’s incredibly delicious.” “So rich.” “Each bite is bursting with flavor.” “It’s different from regular shaved ice—” “The flavor is uniform.” “Ah, right.” “The flavor is infused in every ice crystal.” “I’ll give you some melon.” “Thanks~” Janbomochi. “Mmm.”

“The flavor is like mitarashi, but the mochi is super soft!” “Mitarashi is better when crushed, huh?” “…” Heading to dinner. Unagi no Sueyoshi. Taka-san chose Unadon, I went for Unaju (bamboo) (¥2,450 each). “Mmm.” “Fluffy.” In the Unaju, the eel and rice are separate. The miso soup is sweet with white miso.

The eel was tender and delicious. Felt like trying Kagoshima Ramen for a late-night snack, so we headed to a ramen shop. Ramen Koganei. Waited about 15 minutes to get in. The place was packed the entire time. In Kagoshima, ramen places start you off with pickled radish. Ramen and fried rice SS set.

Plus gyoza. The SS size was a decent portion. Lots of veggies. The char siu was melt-in-your-mouth tender and tasty. The ramen was surprisingly light. The fried rice was on the lighter side too. The gyoza felt like it had a lot of moisture.

By the time we finished eating, even more people were lining up. Ending the day with a room tour while revealing the total cost for day one. The total cost for day one was… Next time, on day two, we’ll visit Chiran and Ibusuki for sightseeing and gourmet.

Please look forward to the next video. Deep gratitude to you for watching till the end. Goodnight 😴
