【相部屋を半個室にしてお得に乗船!】新日本海フェリー「はまなす」神戸⇒舞鶴⇒小樽までを11,000円で格安に移動
Good evening, I have now arrived at Sannomiya station in Kobe, Japan The time is 7:30 PM, so it’s the rush hour to go home Today, I will now board this Shin Nihonkai Ferry! But not from the port of Kobe, but from the port of Maizuru in Kyoto
And the Shin Nihonkai Ferry’s route looks like this Besides Maizuru to Otaru, it also connects Tsuruga, Niigata, and Akita to Hokkaido I will be boarding this Maizuru-Otaru route today And here is the timetable Departs Maizuru at 23:50 and arrives Otaru at 20:45 the next day The ferry trip will take approximately 21 hours
And to Maizuru Port, it’s about a 2-hour bus ride from here in Sannomiya Actually, with the “Bus value ticket” a special ferry plan that includes the bus fare, You can travel to Maizuru for practically free! Boarding is on the 20:00 bus to Maizuru It will take you to the Shin Nihonkai Ferry terminal
The bus has arrived I say the name on the ferry reservation and I was allowed on board Most people seem to be getting on the ferry Unlike a regular bus, this bus has 3 rows of seats, so it’s quite spacious
In addition, there is a curtain to separate you from the seat next to you Pretty luxurious bus are being put into service Departing on time at 20:00 Bus is traveling through a very mountainous area The time is also after 21:00, so many people are taking a nap Finally, we arrive at Maizuru Port
The ferry that will be boarding today is now docked The large ship “Hamanasu” is the pride of Shin Nihonkai Ferry Stopping in front of the ferry terminal office Normally, 2,150 yen is charged as bus fare, But with the ferry ticket, I was able to get here at a very reasonable price
Now it’s time for boarding procedures I still have about two hours before departure, so it’s relatively empty So I have successfully completed the embarkation procedures Here is the ticket this time This is the cheapest room “Tourist A” The bus fare is included, and you can go to Hokkaido for a mere 11,000 yen!
By the way, comlimentary bus ticket is available only for Tourist A room, Please note that it cannot be applied to other grades of rooms I have some time before boarding, so I’m getting close to the ship At 224 meters in length, this is one of the longest ferries in Japan
This ship was put into service in 2004, and is famous for its high speed too Unfortunately, the rain is getting heavier Hopefully the sea won’t be too rough Boarding started about 30 minutes before departure Today is a weekday, so there are not too many passengers Embarking from the ship’s entrance
The central part of the ship also has a luxurious atmosphere Looks like “Tourist A” is here I’ve walked quite a bit, but I think I’ve gone a little too far This is the room My bed is at the far end, “143”
In this room, the upper and lower beds are arranged on opposite sides of the room There appear to be a total of 10 beds And my bed is placed at the far end Curtains are up, but it looks like you can see out the scenery And here is the sleeping area this time
With the other beds, you would be in a face-to-face format with the other passengers, But this bed is located in the back, so it is a semi-private room for one person Actually, this time, I specified this bed at the time of reservation in anticipation of that too!
I highly recommend this bed when you are alone on board And two sheets, you may need to install them yourself And the pillowcases are self-service too The quilt is also very thick And the mattress is of normal firmness
The shelf on the right side is usually used by two people, but here it can be used by one person That’s also a very good value for this bed position I even managed to get the sheets installed successfully There is an outlet socket on the side of the light
And on the other side is a switch for the light There was one hook on the wall side part of the bed There is such a rack on the wall at the foot of the bed But it looks like you can’t put anything too heavy on it
And the entrance side is partitioned off with a curtain like this And also, surprisingly useful was this hole Because the rack next to the bed has these holes, We could take things out without having to open the curtains A little stroll around the ship before departure
This is the cafeteria, but the hours of operation were limited And here’s the outboard deck It’s raining, so there’s no one here It’s away from the city center, so it’s pretty quiet Bathing before departure avoids the crowds Nighttime hours are available until 1:00 a.m. I asked the front desk person per video recording,
I was given permission to film as long as no one was bathing So this is the large bathroom Essentially, though, you can see the view out the window, Unfortunately, the roll curtains are down when the boat is docked This is the changing room in the foreground
There are lockers, and you need 100 yen coins, which will be returned later Now that I’ve had a refreshing bath, I’m ready to relax in bed Still, this bed is quite a bargain! This is the bed arrangement in this room
Basically, it is a bed arrangement in which two people face each other in units of two Also, because it is located in the back, the aisle area is practically only used by me So leaving the curtains open is not a problem
It is now half past midnight and it is time of lights off I think it’s time for me to go to bed, too I’m going to close the curtains, but you can take them out from here
And then above this, by the way, is the upper bunk bed on the opposite side of the bed position Multiple beds are well placed in this design So it’s time to sleep Good night… It’s the next morning The time is after 9:00 a.m., so I have been sleeping a lot
The ship seems to be sailing well I was worried about the turbulence caused by the stormy weather, but I had a good night’s sleep Most of the cheaper rooms don’t have windows, I appreciate having a view of the outside from the window of my room!
The ship is now sailing off the coast of Niigata I think we are just at the halfway point I’d like to get some fresh air Clear skies in contrast to last night’s rain And the temperature and humidity are quite pleasant, unlike West Japan
This is one of the best parts of a boat trip, to see such a view! Now I’m getting hungry, so let’s go to breakfast Here is the restaurant menu There are Japanese style, Western style, and curry, but it’s hard to decide which one to choose
The peak time may have passed, so there are not that many customers This time I chose western style breakfast The fried egg is half-boiled to a nice degree 1,000 yen with soup, so the price is relatively reasonable Of course, I finished all of my meal, so I also got after-meal coffee
Since we’re here, let’s take a little walk around the ship Here’s the stairs in the main lobby First, here’s a floor map of the 4th floor The bottom floor is Tourist A, where we are staying, plus Tourist S rooms, which are one level higher, are also on this floor
And here is the Tourist S room area It’s a semi-private room type, so 18,000 yen In addition to beds, there are shelves for luggage There’s a TV on the front side The partition is a curtain, so it’s not the type that can be locked Children’s corner in the lobby
Unfortunately, there were no children on board today, so it was pretty quiet A photo spot has been set up near the central staircase What a surprise, there are sailor’s jackets for children too It’s going to be a good trip There are also free lockers here
They come in handy when using Tourist type rooms which are not lockable This is a restroom This is a washbasin, I think the number is enough Next will be the toilet Overall, it’s clean and new And of course, it has a washlet Laundry facilities are also available for longer trips
There was also a hot water room next to it Hot water, of course, but it’s rare to offer a cold water as well This is a massage room This one has a fee, 100 yen for 10 minutes There is also a game corner Standard crane catcher game
The game area on this ship is quite large However, there were not so many customers on this day And there was even an air field hockey table There is also a concession stand, but it is not always open They were open at different times during the day
A wide variety of alcohol as well as Hokkaido souvenirs And a wide variety of Shin Nihonkai Ferry original goods Original T-shirts were popular This is a vending machine corner It’s rare to see a cigarette vending machine A full range of juices, ice cream, and cup noodles And the prices are very reasonable
Here we are at the bow area on the 4th floor This will be the forward salon in the smoking area It’s a very nice space for smokers You can enjoy this view while smoking Unfortunately, as a non-smoker, I couldn’t stay long… “The ships Hamanasu and Akashia…”
“We are in contact with each other as we sail along” “Meeting ship to ship on the open sea…” “It’s very grand and very graceful” “As you head in the direction you are going, on your right, you will see it shortly”
So, as soon as I came out to the outer deck of the ship, I could see it! This is the sister ship “Akashia” heading for Maizuru port First, our ship “Hamanasu” blows its whistle Then, the whistle of the “Akashia” is faintly heard as well
It was a “very grand and graceful” sight, just as the announcement said! Since it’s one of the ship’s major attractions, Many passengers were also watching Meanwhile, it was time for lunch The restaurant is open for approximately one hour And the restaurant menu is quite extensive I’m quite lost, to be honest
For lunch, I chose this table by the window Eating with this view is also exceptional! Choice of dishes, Miso ramen and fried rice Charge is 1,000 yen When I was aware of Hokkaido, I choose this one ahead of the others After lunch, I came to the 6th floor for some exercise
I thought it was a big hall, but it looks like a theater room Video is a safety guide on board The film appears to be shown twice a day at a set time Here is the floor map of the 6th floor This floor is the top floor of the guest rooms,
Suites and deluxe rooms are available And here is the deluxe room The price is 33,000 yen, which is three times the price of Tourist A, The room looks reasonably comfortable And there’s a room with a very heavy door Yes, a “Suite”
There are only 4 rooms on this ship and the price is 58,600 yen per person It’s so luxurious you won’t believe you’re on a ship I’d love to stay there someday Let’s go down to the 5th floor The fifth floor is the middle floor and consists of a room called “State B”
Restaurants and public baths are also located on this floor Forward salon is also in this bow section This is a non-smoking area, so even non-smokers can enjoy it! I think it is quite rare to find a ferry with two forward salons We have about 8 more hours of sailing to Otaru, though,
This is one of the advantages of a long-distance ferry: you can relax and enjoy your time This is the 5th floor cabin area State Room B is 21,600 yen per person Since it is only 3,000 yen different from the rank below it, Tourist S,
I guess State Room B would be better if it is I went back to my room and took a nap, and the sun was setting quite a bit And finally the land of Hokkaido is in sight I’ve been quite comfortable so far, though, We are finally nearing the end of our boat trip
And we have also come to the northern end of the Japanese archipelago, I am quite deeply moved When I came to the outboard deck, there were a lot of people there Everyone seemed to be enjoying the sunset from the ship Looks like I’m totally late to it
But still, the sky is really beautiful Let’s also check the location It seems to be navigating in the area approaching the Shakotan Peninsula And thankfully, I’m getting better and better reception on my phone We don’t have Wi-Fi service on board, Internet access is scarce until you get to this area
Also here is the current speed of the ship The ship is sailing at a speed of over 50km/h and is heading towards Otaru at a good clip No one was around, so with permission, I came to the big bath again You can see this sunset from the bath tub
By the way, there is also a sauna, but.., That would be extremely difficult to film… There was a stamping station near the central staircase It seems you can get a commemorative stamp for embarkation I usually fail, but this time I managed to succeed!
The restaurant is now becoming my home, and I’m heading for our last meal A full dinner menu, but I’m going to choose my favorite I tried to get a window seat, but unfortunately, you can’t see anything at night And then I was offered this one very quick
In honor of Hokkaido, it’s lamb Genghis Khan! This restaurant has a wide variety of dishes on the menu, and they were all really delicious And the price was 1,800 yen Now let’s have my last supper on this ship After dinner, I came back to the outer deck of the ship
You can see the lights of the houses in the distance I checked the location.., Otaru Port is just around the corner The 21-hour voyage is coming to an end Arrived on time at 20:45 Compared to the Kansai region where we departed, the temperature is still cooler and chilly
I’d like to pack and get ready for disembarkation Disembarkation on foot has begun At the same time, a large number of people in aprons are coming on board Probably local cleaners on this boat I think they are making beds, etc. at a rapid pace
Because this ship will be leaving for Maizuru again in 3 hours So, this is a ship that operates on a tremendous schedule! This is goodbye to the “Hamanasu” which has taken care of us for 21 hours Good work! Down to the first floor of the terminal building
From here I want to head to Otaru station for now The route bus will stop at the time of disembarkation but you’ll likely have to wait about 30 minutes This is an information display for those who are about to embark This ship is operating for a tremendous amount of time
And this will be the boarding counter Looks like the buses have arrived Traffic IC cards can be used perfectly There don’t seem to be many passengers Departing for Otaru Station on time The ride will take about 30 minutes So that’s it for today’s on-board review Thank you for watching so far!
