[#1]日本で唯一の寝台特急サンライズ出雲、予約困難な「動くホテル」で出雲大社へ
Good evening This time, we are leaving at night for the first time! What a surprise! This time, we will ride on that train! Finally, I will be riding the “Sunrise Izumo” that I have been longing for! Please watch to the end! But there are lots of lights on until this hour!
Thank you all for your hard work! This time, we will board the “Sunrise Izumo” in this lower section. Here I come! I might not be able to sleep at night because of the excitement. lol KITTER!!! I took a lot of pictures of the outside of the building. Finally, the ride is on!
Seats this time are Sunrise Twin. Lined up at the Midori-no-madoguchi at 6:00 a.m. and got a numbered ticket. We had a 10:00am strike and got the Sunrise Twin! Aisles are narrower than I expected. The room we will be stopping at is room #1 here. Going down a few narrow stairs. Open!
Ooh! It’s bigger than I imagined! There’s even a place to put your luggage. I usually don’t mind the ceiling. You can put things on this side too. The eye level is pretty low. The control panel said the radio was closed. There is only one outlet so no fighting. lol
Lock the car securely before strolling inside. The aisles are so narrow that we can barely pass each other. We have room for that, so that’s not an option. There are two washbasins and a power outlet. Curtains are also included so you don’t have to worry about spinning. lol
Let’s take a look at the restrooms. It’s clean, but it doesn’t have a bidet. Next is the stretch seat, the least expensive seat. There are curtains, so line of sight won’t be an issue. Departure from Tokyo Station at 22:00. There are still a lot of people at the station.
With such people by my side. It’s so great to sleep on the move and wake up to arrive! Here’s today’s dinner and tomorrow’s breakfast. Food is not sold in the car, so I bought it beforehand. Note that there is no refrigerator. Departing from Tokyo Station at 10:00 p.m.
Passing through Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka Arrives at Okayama at 6:27 a.m. and is separated from the Sunrise Seto. Arrival at Izumo City Station at 9:58 a.m. good morning I slept well, though my body ached a little. I would like to have breakfast. A hand towel would be appreciated in a humble way.
The plump shrimp was delicious! Now, we have arrived at Izumo City Station! However! This is not the station where Izumo Taisha Shrine and other shrines are located! Change here and it will still take about 25 minutes! I had no idea until I looked it up. lol
I thought it was right after getting off the Sunrise Izumo and exiting the station. lol When I exited the ticket gate, there was a clear sign Once we walk out. Dentetsu Izumoichi Station You buy a ticket because it is not an automatic ticket gate. Electronic money is accepted for payment.
500 yen per person. This is the old-fashioned manned ticket gate. Station staff will cut your ticket with scissors. First, go to Kawato Station. Transfer at Kawato Station. Most people switched. This train shook a lot! It may be the best train I’ve ever ridden. Waiting for arrival while enduring violent shaking. lol
We are almost there! Arrival at Izumo-taisha-mae station. The retro station building is a “registered tangible cultural property. Izumo-taisha Shrine is on the right as you exit the station. This time, go left once. You will see the “Ugakabashi Otorii” (Great Gate of the Ugakabashi Bridge). Originally, you could pass under the torii gate.
Ugaka Bridge” is under construction, so it was not possible to go under it. Now, let’s head for “Izumo-taisha” through the approach to the shrine. Shinmon Yokocho It is a new souvenir spot, only about four years old. Currently, there were five stores in operation. The name of this approach is called “Shinmon-dori.
It is a busy street lined with a variety of stores. Ryokan located near Izumo Taisha Shrine. What a surprise! This is the family home of singer Mariya Takeuchi! Arrived~! We walked about 700 meters on the approach to the temple. This torii is the second torii. Newly completed on October 2, 2018.
The previous torii gate was made of cedar. fast forward San no Torii “Iron Torii Beautiful 400-year-old pine trees line the street near the “Yonotorii” (fourth torii gate). “The Musubi no Mikami.” Yonotorii “Copper Torii” (Fourth Torii) The hall of worship can be seen in the back. A large shimenawa is also visible.
Seems smaller than imagined? It’s still small? I felt uncomfortable, but continued to worship. single-tiered gate with eight secondary pillars supporting the four main central pillars Kansai Tower and Corridor These three circles are the remains of ancient pillars of the main building. It’s not □ickey. lol The eight-foot gate opens only on special occasions.
Those who have received prayers are allowed to enter. They say you can make a special visit to the shrine through travel agency tours, etc. Moved to the back side of the main shrine. General worshippers will find this location to be a good place to get a closer look at the main shrine
The building in the back is the Jukusha (West) kagura hall (at a shrine) Here’s a shimenawa just as I imagined it. lol It was in the “Kaguraden” not in the main shrine. The location was on the approach to the main shrine and to the left.
If you were bad, you might not even notice it. lol Up close, it’s really big. Length: 13.5 m, Weight: 4.5 tons I was scared that it would fall down. Next, we will head for lunch. For lunch, we will have Izumo soba noodles. Full house and a bit of a line.
Warigo soba, one of the characteristics of Izumo soba It comes in small portions and you can enjoy a variety of flavors. This time, we will have Goshiki Warigo! The official way to eat it was to eat it from the top. lol I didn’t know that. grated daikon katsuobushi
Bits of fried batter left after cooking tempura egg Japanese yam (Dioscorea japonica) This time, the order was a mess. Next time I want to eat them in order! I conquered the second of the three major soba noodles in Japan! Next, we will head to Inasa Beach.
Approx. 1 km from Izumo-taisha Shrine to Inasa-no-hama beach It’s not that far away, so we’ll be moving on foot. There is a grave of “Izumonookuni” on the way. I can see it in the distance. First time seeing a vending machine, what do you think you will get? LOL! Arrival at Inasa Beach. Benten Island
This beach is the beach that welcomes the 8 million gods from all over Japan on the 10th day of the 10th month of the lunar calendar! The sand is exchanged for sand from “Inasa-no-hama” (beach of Inasa). Sand exchange at the Soshisha Shrine in Izumo-taisha
It is believed to be effective in warding off bad luck They can be put in small bottles and placed in a room. Next, we will head to the Himigozaki Shrine. Approx. 8 km Please note that buses are infrequent. We took a cab. Hinomisaki Shrine It was completed by Matsudaira Naomasa in 1644.
The precincts of the temple are beautifully maintained. The main shrine is very beautiful with white walls and vermilion pillars. They say the Himigozaki Shrine protects the night in Japan. In case you are wondering, the Ise Jingu Shrine protects it during the day. On the right side, there is a hand-watering basin.
Hishizumi Temple”Shimo no Miya.” There is a big shimenawa here, too. Up the stairs is the Kami-no-Miya, the Shrine of the Gods. What you see now is the worship hall. Behind the hall of worship is the main shrine. You can see the whole thing from above. The view from outside.
Next, we will go to the Hinomisaki Lighthouse. Walk to the lighthouse It’s a peaceful place with very few people. It takes about 10 minutes to get there. Walking leisurely, taking in the scenery. An unusual wall has appeared. A little creepy. lol We’re almost there. I can see it in the distance.
It is the tallest stone lighthouse in Japan. It was completed in 1903, so it is 120 years old! In 2022, it will also be designated as a “National Important Cultural Property. Arrived~! Entrance fee “300 yen What a surprise, you can go up to the observation deck by stairs!
There are “163 steps” in this spiral staircase! Still on the way, but this high. The last staircase is almost a ladder. lol There was a floor at the top that was a test of courage. lol Here’s a view you may not see if you’re afraid of heights! LOL!
Approx. 40m to the ground, approx. 60m to the water surface We are back to ground level, but still high to the surface. These are “columnar joints.” They say it was formed by cooling contraction of lava. I’m a little bad at this because I seem to have a phobia of collectives. lol
I’m okay with heights. From here, it looks like the Karin Tower from Dragon Ball! Hinomisaki Lighthouse, a sight to behold! There are stores nearby where you can get souvenirs, seafood bowls, etc. This time, we took a break at a restaurant near the Hinomizaki Shrine Squid was drying in front of the store.
When you order, they grill it on a seven-wheeled grill! Squid and turban shells are my favorite! They were delicious! Next, head to the hotel where you will be staying today. This time, we will stay at the Family Lodge Hatagoya Izumo Taisha branch. It looks like an apartment.
The rooms are quite spacious and nice. The bed is big, too. I came by Sunrise, so it feels even bigger. lol. Separated bath and toilet is also nice. It also has a bidet! There’s a refrigerator and everything you need. After all, it’s only 11,000 yen for two people!
Next, we’ll go looking for dinner. We will eat at “Toretore Kaisendon Marusen” on the second floor. Actually, the hardest part was dinner. I walked from the hotel to Izumo-taisha Shrine. The store was not open at all and I finally found it! You need to do your research before you go.
Three kinds of seared rice bowl It was delicious! Next up: Day 3. good morning Today’s breakfast includes bread and coffee here! You can get what you see here for free! Family Lodge Ryoronya” is a good choice for those who want to keep costs down! Now, I will leave Izumo.
Next, we will head for Matsue. There was also a bike shop near the hotel that offered bike rentals! It is recommended as it costs 800 yen per day! Heading to Izumo-taisha-mae station. After that, we will go to Matsue Vogel Park. The weather is great today! Finally, please see the approach to the station
Thank you for watching to the end!
