Good morning! It’s the second day. First, let’s eat breakfast. Sunshine Hotel’s breakfast menu has a wide variety of options. The yogurt I bought yesterday is also delicious. Wakayama prefecture roadside station complete today! It was supposed to be, but we received some important information from the viewers. The
Kinki Roadside Station Stamp Rally is for the 152 stations in the stamp book and the roadside stations that will be opened by the deadline.Tabi -dora is casually holding the stamp book. I thought there were only 152 stations listed. According to the information you gave me, there are four new Kinki Road stations.
One station will be added to Nara, which is scheduled to open at the end of March 2024, for a total of five stations. There are only 8 stations left in the travel drama! If I didn’t know about it, I would have said something embarrassing like “I completely conquered it!” at the 152nd station…
Thank you so much for letting me know. Today, I would like to visit two roadside stations while sightseeing in Wakayama Prefecture. Let’s get started!! Please join us if you’d like (^^) First, we’ll head to Kumano Hayatama Taisha. Drive along National Route 42 towards Mie Prefecture. Kumano Hayatama Taisha can be seen in front.
There is a blue mailbox. It’s rare. Kumano Hayatama Taisha Kumano Hayatama Taisha is one of the three Kumano shrines, along with Kumano Hongu Taisha and Kumano Nachi Taisha. It was registered as a World Heritage Site on July 7, 2004 as a sacred site and pilgrimage route in the Kii Mountain Range.
Yatagarasu Shrine Kumano Hayatama Taisha Shrine is said to have been built to encourage the Kumano Gongen who descended from the Gotobiki Rock of Kamikura Shrine, and was called “Shingu” in contrast to Kamikura Shrine, which is said to be the origin of the name of Shingu City. . Musashibo Benkei
Benkei is said to have come from the Suzuki clan, one of the three Kumano clans that served Hayatama Okami. It is a 1000-year-old sacred tree. This is a Nagi tree planted by Shigemori Taira. It is said that the symmetrical shape of the leaves brings blessings for marital harmony.
You can hold your pet and visit the shrine together (^^) Kumano Inari Shrine 2024 will be the 20th anniversary of its registration as a World Heritage Site. It seems that there is also a special goshuin stamp commemorating the 20th anniversary of the registration as a World Heritage Site.
The information board is also digital! thank you very much! Head to Kamikura Shrine. After this, Tabi-dora took a wrong turn, so we warped. I often miss the navigation when I’m chatting. sorry. There is information about Kamikura Shrine. The second parking lot is on the left. This is the first parking lot.
The first parking lot is a little narrow, so if you are not good at parking, it might be better to park your car in the second parking lot. Kamikura Shrine Kamikura Shrine is a subsidiary shrine of Kumano Hayatama Shrine. It is located halfway up Mt. Gongen, at an altitude of 120 meters.
Let’s go. Kamikura Shrine is also registered as a World Heritage Site as part of the enclave of Kumano Hayatama Taisha. Pets are not allowed here. Sarutahiko Shrine The stone steps of Kamikura Shrine are steep, so elderly people and those with small children should visit the lower torii gate.
Also, avoid climbing in high heels. Head to Kamikura Shrine. It’s a really steep slope. The Edo cobblestones of Matsumoto Pass, which I was unable to climb the day before, will come back to life. 9:20 Departure. There are 538 stone steps at Kamakura Shrine.
The slope is so steep that even if you turn around, you can’t see the bottom. I’ll definitely do my best to make it to the top today! 9:29 The torii gate is now in sight! We got here in less than 10 minutes! Manzansha Shrine I will visit here first.
Then we headed to Kamikura Shrine. It’s a little later. Gotobiki Rock is now visible! It’s really big. Kamikura Shrine Gotobiki Iwa Kamikura Shrine is the sacred place where Kumano Okami first descended before it was enshrined as the Kumano Sanzan. The cityscape of Shingu and the Kumano Sea can be seen below
Gotobiki Rock, the sacred object of worship . It’s a wonderful view. Let’s go back. I had given up on Matsumoto Pass the day before, but I’m glad I was able to show you the spectacular view today. thank you very much! The descent is an easy
One.I thought it would be an easy one, but the steep descent is scarier than I expected. If you try to go down straight, you might fall, so go down in a zigzag pattern. A little longer! It was 9:42 when we started descending. How many minutes will it take to go down?
Descend carefully step by step. We’ve finally come this far. Arrived at 9:55. The descent took 13 minutes. thank you very much! Next we will head to Suzushima. I didn’t notice that I was turning left at the next corner of the Kisei Main Line , so I kept going straight.
I made a U-turn and came back…(^^; The fishing port is on the right. The parking lot is on the left. You can enter from here, but I turned around and entered the parking lot. Arrival Suzushima/Koushima parking lot There is a Miwasaki fishing port exchange facility next to it. There is a footbath.
There is also a toilet. Depart for Suzushima. Next to the tranquil Miwasaki fishing port, there is Suzushima. A strange rock that was created over many years by sea erosion. There are about 120 plants growing on Koshima, including the flower of Shingu City.Koushima and Suzushima have been certified as geosites that make up the Nanki Kumano Geopark. In Shingu City, there are There are also Koyasaka, Ojigahama, Mt. If you look towards the sea, you will see Hotel Urashima, which is a favorite of the Tabi-dora family.Katsuura Fishing Port has the largest catch of raw tuna in Japan
. The dismantling show is held every day! We will have lunch on the stylish wooden deck♪ Deep-fried tuna is 500 yen. It’s a lot of food and 500 yen is a great deal ♪ Tuna bowl is 1,600 yen. Contains plenty of fresh tuna! Tuna flakes also have a good taste.
Miso soup also contains tuna. All of the seafood bowls were delicious! Footbath Umi no Yu Here you can enjoy a meal while looking out at Katsuura Bay and a tuna butchering show. We also have a wide variety of locally produced souvenirs and goods, so we recommend it when you come to Katsuura.
There are lots of fish! There is a stylish tree here. The Bintama Tree Monument is filling and satisfying. thank you very much! If you spend more than 2000 yen on a meal, you can park for free for 1 hour!
I was planning to go to Roadside Station Taiji from here, but I decided to go to Kumano Nachi Taisha. As you head toward Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine, Daimonzaka of the Kumano Kodo is on your left. One of the Kumano Kodo Nakahechi routes, it is a 640m long cobblestone slope halfway up Mt. Nachi.
It seems to be a popular spot among foreigners as well. I climbed quite high so the view is good♪ I can see Nachi Falls! I’m visiting Nachi Falls in this video, so please check it out if you’d like (^^) You can see the torii gate of Hitaki Shrine.
There are more tourists than when I visited before. I parked my car in the large parking lot that was free the last time I came. that? It says there is a fee. Free for customers who shop at the store. Arrival Kumano Nachi Taisha
I have been to Nachi Falls twice, but this is my first time visiting Kumano Nachi Taisha. Walk while looking at the souvenir shops along the approach. There are carvings of owls. There is a Nachi Kuroishi owl here. There is also a Nachi black Yatagarasu. There are many items made from Nachi Kuroishi.
The stairs continue. Finally, the torii gate came into view. Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine is a picturesque scenery. I’ll try my best again! This is the view from the temple grounds. I’m glad I worked hard to climb it! The view of Nachi Falls from here is also wonderful.

I bought raw tuna for tonight’s side dish. I look forward to eating it because it’s fresh. The whale stamp is cute. thank you very much! Next is the roadside station Mushikuiwa. At the time of this trip, I thought it was the last roadside station in Wakayama. Mushikuiwa Roadside Station is 21.4 km away.
The sea is now in sight! It’s the best view. You can look at it forever. The stylish log house in front is the log kitchen “Vallee Noir”. When I looked it up on Google, it was a really popular restaurant! What you can see in front of you is quarry rock.
Apparently there is a hole in the rock on the left. And this is said to be the perfect sunrise spot. It is said that you can get close to it during low tide. The drive along the coastline is nice. This is Koza Station. You can see the Kisei Main Line.
Mushikuiwa Roadside Station is 2 km away. You can see Mushikui Rock ahead! It’s amazing. Arrival : 96% of the area of Kozagawa Town is forest. It feels more like living in nature than being surrounded by it. In front of the roadside station is Mushikuiwa Rock.
Mushikui Rock is a nationally designated natural monument and has been selected as one of Japan’s top 100 geological sites. There are countless holes carved throughout the rock that look like they have been eroded by the rain and wind and eaten by insects.
The size of the hole is usually 10 cm in diameter and 4 to 5 cm deep. Some of them are said to be over 1m in diameter.
There is a legend that if you thread a string through a pebble with a hole in it and make a wish, your ear disease will be cured. This time, we will conquer Wakayama Prefecture! This is the stamp I was thinking of. Wakayama prefecture conquering will be on hold for a while…(^^;
It has a strong yuzu flavor with yuzu peel. It’s easy to eat with one hand.Bonus dinner : Kumano local sake bought at Aeon in Shingu . This is raw tuna that I bought at the roadside station Taiji. It looks delicious.Today I will drink sake from Kumano Sanzan. This
Is a tin-warmed cup from Takoume, an oden shop in Umeda, Osaka.Tabi-dora No.2 This was given to me by my co-workers when I retired. It ‘s delicious when you drink hot sake with it.Recommended for people who like hot sake (^^) It’s sharp and dry and delicious.Next time I’ll eat raw tuna
. The meat is plump. I ate it up in no time. There’s only a little left of the fried tuna I bought at the Katsuura Fishing Port Lively Market. It’s seasoned with black pepper and goes well with alcohol. Something sweet after the meal . The Daifuku Mochi Mochi
Is full of beans and is chewy. It also contains a lot of black beans and red bean paste. The Hojicha has a nice aroma and deep flavor. The Black Ame Mochi Mochi is soft. The taste of the black candy is a little off. That’s about it. It’s a waste of soybean flour. Let
‘s make Abekawa Mochi! The next day, I made Abekawa Mochi. It’s healthy because the soybean flour isn’t sweet. It was twice delicious black candy mochi at once (^^ ) Thank you very much! That’s all for today’s roadside station tour. Thank you for watching until the end (^^)
