こんにちはスローライフログです。四国の東南端に位置する室戸へ、2020年1月半日観光してきました。室戸岬には24番札所最御崎寺（穂岬寺）、室戸岬灯台と室戸ユネスコ世界ジオパークなど、観光名所が凝縮されています。太平洋の広大な景色が望める室戸岬の東側海岸沿いは、太平洋から昇る初日の出が見られるスポットです。少し足を伸ばせば、廃校した小学校を活用したむろと廃校水族館もあります。是非、歴史や文化と地球の動きを実感できる室戸にお出掛けしてみませんか。
室戸までのアクセスは、自家用車やレンタカーがおすすめです。高知市から車で2時間弱、徳島市から約3時間。国道55号線をひたすら走って行きます。年末年始やイベントがある場合は、交通規制があるのでご確認ください。24番札所最御崎寺へ室戸スカイラインで車または、国道55号線から室戸岬灯台を経る山道徒歩コースの２通り。また、この最御崎寺、空海の七不思議の１つ「くわずいも畑」があり、宿坊もあります。室戸岬灯台は最御崎寺のすぐ側で、動画では最短の通路が通行不可になっていましたが、現在は復旧されています。
室戸ユネスコ世界ジオパークセンターでは、事前予約でさまざまなツアーに参加でき、室戸の地政学を知りたい方は是非調べて行ってみてください。さらに子供も楽しめ、大人も和める、むろと廃校水族館もユニークです。室戸の地元のお魚たちや海洋生物とも出会えます。地元の名物キンメ丼を提供してくれるお店もキンメマップでチェック。

Hello, this is Slow Life Log. I went on a half-day sightseeing trip to Muroto, located at the southeastern tip of Shikoku, in January 2020. Cape Muroto is home to many tourist attractions, including the 24th temple Hotsumisakiji Temple, the Cape Muroto Lighthouse, and the Muroto UNESCO Global Geopark. Along the east coast of Cape Muroto, where you can enjoy a vast view of the Pacific Ocean, you can see the first sunrise over the Pacific Ocean. If you go a little further, you can also visit Muroto Haiko Aquarium, which is located in a former elementary school. Please come and visit Muroto, where you can experience the history, culture, and movement of the earth.
There is almost no public transportation to get to Muroto, so we recommend using your own car or rental car. It is less than 2 hours by car from Kochi City and about 3 hours from Tokushima City. I will continue driving along National Route 55. If there are year-end and New Year holidays or events, there may be traffic restrictions, so please check. There are two ways to get to the 24th temple, Hotsumisakiji Temple: by car on the Muroto Skyline, or by walking along the mountain path from National Route 55 past Cape Muroto Lighthouse. In addition, Hotsumisakiji Temple is home to one of Kukai’s seven wonders, the “kuzu potato field,” and there is also a lodging lodge. Cape Muroto Lighthouse is located right next to Hotsumisakiji Temple, and in the video, the shortest path was impassable, but it appears to have been restored now.
At the Muroto UNESCO Global Geopark Center, you can participate in a variety of tours with advance reservations, so if you want to learn more about Muroto’s geopolitics, be sure to check them out. Furthermore, the Muroto Haiko Aquarium, which is located in an abandoned school that both children and adults can enjoy, is also unique. You can also meet Muroto’s local fish and marine life.
