Look forward to trying other sushi next time. When I come to this town, I want to have breakfast by the sea. As a sushi lover like me, it looks like a jewel. The clear skies of Suruga Bay and the local flavors made me feel welcomed.
Let me stay in this town for a while. Travel like a local in Numazu. Now, I’m wondering how to eat it. The seafood kakiage bowl caught my attention when I came here before. A combination of the flavor of shrimp and scallops and the sweetness of onions.
Both my curiosity and my stomach were filled with happiness. Let’s take a walk and buy some food for dinner. Collecting treasures from the sea of Suruga Bay. The timing was good, as it sometimes sells out. I love coastal towns. The blue of the sea and the complementary tangerine color are beautiful.
This area has a long history of mandarin orange cultivation. ‘Tangerine picking with a view of Mt. Fuji” sounds fun. The winter switch has been turned on. While warming your body, replenish your nutrition with tangerine. Not only is it delicious, it keeps well and the skin is easy to peel.
Eating mandarin oranges under the kotatsu is an essential part of winter in Japan. Perhaps it is the wisdom of our ancestors. Numazu’s specialty “dried horse mackerel” Remove the bones and skin and mix into the steamed rice. Cut the horse mackerel sashimi into pieces. Marinate half of the sashimi in soy sauce.
This is something to look forward to tomorrow morning. Fry half of the cherry-colored gemstones from Suruga Bay. The amber sesame oil made it look delicious. Place the horse mackerel sashimi and raw whitebait on top of the horse mackerel rice. Then, I topped it with sakura shrimp and completed the “Numazu Rice Bowl.”
The “Suruga Bay Seafood Enjoyment Set” is now ready. Thank you for the meal. The jewels of Suruga Bay make my five senses happy. Everything is satisfied and I go to sleep. Make the soup using the bonito stock packs I got at the local market. The delicious scent of Japanese morning wakes me up.
The sashimi that slept overnight was in good condition. Arrange the amber fish on top of the white rice. I want to eat this right away, but I’ll hold back. Pour hot dashi soup over it and the “mackerel chazuke” is ready. A taste steeped in fond memories of Numazu.
I’m glad I was able to come to this town again this year. I’m looking forward to seeing which town I’ll meet next…

✔ 富士山の景色と古民家宿
自然豊かな海辺の田舎町に佇んでいる、古き良さが残る築90年の古民家に滞在。
徒歩1分以内で海に行くことができ、海からは美しい富士山の姿が臨める。
特に湿度が低く空気が澄んでいる11月から2月の間が、富士山ラッキーチャンスが多いようだ。
✔ 朝市
沼津駅そばのアーケード名店街で、毎月1日に「朝イチ（ついたち市）」が開催される。今回は滞在期間と重なりラッキーだった。
「あじ寿し」も購入できて嬉しい。鰺は肉厚で大葉の香りもよく、地域の暖かみを感じるような、本当に美味しいお寿司だった。”日本一の穴子寿司”も非常に気になるところ。
✔ 海鮮かき揚げタワー丼
以前に沼津を訪れた際、とても興味をそそられた一品。今回は体験することができて幸せ。
見た目の迫力もさることながら、お味も良い。
食べきれるかな？とも思ったが、美味しくて最後まで飽きなかった。
胃もたれも無し。
✔ こたつで沼津みかん
全国のみかん生産量トップの県は、和歌山、愛媛、続いて「静岡」。
ブランドみかん「寿太郎みかん」も沼津生まれ。富士山を眺めながらみかん狩りができる農園もある。
暖を取りながら手軽に水分や栄養補給ができる、冬の風物詩「こたつでみかん」は非常に理にかなっていることに気づく。
✔ 沼津丼
沼津の海の名産品御三家「鰺・桜えび・しらす」が乗る最強海鮮丼「沼津丼」。
本来は「アジの干物の炊き込みご飯」がベースとなるのだが、旅先のため調理方法は簡略化。美味しさと感動が押し寄せる口福の味わい。
やっぱ沼津はい〜ずら！！✨

以前は、家族旅行で沼津漁港でお昼を頂き…西伊豆方面で宿泊していました🥰
