【太平洋フェリー きそ 1等和洋室】名古屋→苫小牧 日本最長航路40時間
I boarded the Pacific Ferry Kiso from Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture to Tomakomai, Hokkaido. A 40-hour journey on Japan’s longest route. On the ship, we enjoyed meals, beautiful views, and lounge shows. Please watch till the end! I came to Nagoya. The famous Nana-chan doll in front of Meitetsu Department Store. Head to Meitetsu Bus Center.
Purchase tickets at the Meitetsu Bus Center ticket office. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Only one-way tickets to the ferry terminal can be purchased. One-way fare for adults is 830 yen. Boarding number 22 is for the ferry terminal. The bus only departs at 5:20 p.m. The bus to the ferry terminal has arrived.
Large luggage can be stored in the trunk space of the bus. Get on the bus. The bus was almost full. Ah, I saw the ferry! Finally arrived. Arrival at the ferry terminal was a little delayed due to traffic congestion. Boarding time is approaching, so let’s finish the reception.
Passengers on the bus are checking in one after another. The room I booked this time is a 1st class Japanese-Western room with a capacity of 3 people. (Actually, 2 people used it) After completing the boarding procedures, we received the room card key.
Boarding had already begun, so there was no one in the waiting area on the second floor. There are many seats in the waiting area. You can see the ferry in front of you. I’m so excited! “Let’s set sail on an emotional journey!”
Finally, we board the ship. Thank you to all the crew for your help. When I showed them the room number, they showed me the room. I’m heading to my room. Room number is room 557. Hold up your card key and OPEN!
Departure is approaching, so leave your luggage in your room and head to the deck. This route departs from Nagoya Port, stops at Sendai Port on the way, and heads to Tomakomai West Port. The illuminated funnel is lovely. The rampway was closed for departure. The rope hanging from the mooring pole will be removed.
The rope is being wound more and more. The ferry gradually leaves the port. The time is 7pm. Departure. Goodbye, Nagoya. The first big event on this trip is passing under the famous port Triton.
No matter how many times I look at it, the position of the funnel looks like the height of the bridge. Passed safely. LOL Now, let’s change the angle and watch the passage again. You can feel the size of the bridge and see how dynamic it is. This moment is emotional.
The bridge is moving away… The area around the container terminal is bright. Famous Port Triton, last look for a while. The ferry leaves Nagoya Port with its back to the traffic control signal. The menu at the restaurant that day looked like this: Meals are also available at the snack corner.
You can order curry, pasta, udon, soba, etc. I bought a lunch box at Nagoya Station before boarding the ferry. This is today’s dinner. Two types of cooked rice bento with grilled fish and a tempura bowl bento. I also bought a seafood salad. I’m hungry. I’ll get it right away!
It had a seafood salad, shrimp and squid. delicious. Chestnut rice. The chestnuts were crunchy and delicious. Fish and sweet potatoes. I’m glad it has a variety of side dishes. Rice sprinkled with beef. It was so delicious! A very satisfying lunch box with a lot of things in it. Thank you for the meal.
After dinner, we watched a show at the theater lounge. The show starts at 8pm and lasts approximately 45 minutes. It looks like this musician is playing it. The show has started. There were many performances centered on the saxophone. I was able to listen to various songs for 45 minutes.
Thank you for your wonderful performance. I got a stamp to commemorate boarding. There were two types of stamps. I tried pressing two. Let’s take it home as a souvenir. Tomorrow morning, if the weather is nice, I will watch the sunrise. Check the sunrise time. Currently sailing around Cape Irago.
I returned to my room. OPEN! Turn on the room light and begin the room tour. Warm and bright bedspreads and curtains based on yellow. This is a room for 3 people. It has a Japanese-style room with twin beds and a carpet. Trash can, full-length mirror. This is a closet. Hanger, shoehorn, clothes brush.
This shelf has towels, room wear, etc. There were bath towels, face towels, and room wear for each person. Life jackets are stored for each person. How to wear a life jacket. I’ll read it just in case. There is a table and a sofa bed next to the window.
Tv set. Terrestrial and BS broadcasts can be viewed. Since it has IH, you can boil a small amount of water. Tissues and a bag for seasickness. I checked the TV remote control and the escape route map. Please also take a look at the information on board.
There was a teacup, green tea, and hojicha set here. There were several outlets in the room, so charging your mobile phone was no problem. mini fridge. You can store drinks in it. The sofa can be turned into a mattress like this. But where is the comforter? Slippers for inside the ship.
There was a light switch and power supply by the bed, a volume control for the speakers, and nothing in the drawer. Is that a sofa bed comforter under the bed? Let’s take a look at the bathroom. Washbasin, toilet and shower room. There is no bathtub.
There is a hook behind the door. Towels for bath mats are also provided. A hair dryer is provided, but the airflow is weak. Outlet. Cups and toothbrushes are also provided. The shower booth has a movable shower head. shower curtain. Body soap and conditioner shampoo are provided.
We were able to get card keys for each person. It’s time for a light evening drink while eating the yakitori I bought at Nagoya Station. Let’s start with lemon sour. cheers! Yakitori eaten in the middle of the night has an indescribable deliciousness.
After drinking, we moved to the bathroom on the 5th floor. There was a karaoke room next door. An observation bath for men. You can enter 24 hours a day until 30 minutes before entering the port.
Observation bath for women. You can also enter 24 hours a day until 30 minutes before entering the port. After taking a bath, I came to the vending machine corner. I think I’ll go buy something. Alcohol such as beer, soft drinks, and ice cream are also available.
I want to eat ice cream after taking a bath. I bought Berry Berry Strawberry. There are so many types of ice cream that it can be confusing. I bought some cotton candy. I returned to my room. Let’s eat the ice cream we bought right away.
Cotton candy. It’s my first time eating it. It’s quite sweet… Strawberries are a stable taste. Thank you for the meal. I go to bed early to watch the sunrise the next morning. good night. good morning. It cleared up safely. Looks like we can see the sunrise!
The time was 6:13am. There is still some time until sunrise. Many people gathered on the deck to watch the sunrise. I’m looking forward to it. The sun gradually appeared from the horizon. The moment the sun rose. It’s so divine. Sunrise time is 6:19am. Just a little magic hour.
I want to watch it forever. The morning sun hits the funnel, dyeing it orange. I’m glad I woke up early because I don’t know if I’ll be able to see the sunrise tomorrow. The land is dyed a pale pink color by the morning sun.
A wake reflected in the morning sun. It’s the beginning of the day. At sunrise, we were sailing off the coast of Chiba Prefecture. A little morning walk around the ship. The hot water supply room on the 6th floor is located in a place like this bar counter.
The hot water room has a sink, a microwave (I used it to heat up my lunch last night), and a water heater. Piano stage on the 6th floor. I’d like to hear a live piano performance. Smoking rooms are located on each floor from 5th to 7th.
There is a men’s toilet on each floor. There are also women’s toilets on each floor. The entrance hall has an atrium, giving it an open feel. The entrance hall on the 5th floor has many tables and chairs where you can relax.
There were fewer people in the morning, but many people were relaxing during the day. This is a kids room. Shoes are strictly prohibited here. They seem to be playing in the circle in the middle. Lockers for valuables are PIN code operated. I came to the game corner.
Crane games are lined up in the front. slot game. This is also a slot game. Arcade games, crane games. Money exchange machine. There are also arcade games here. There are two types of commemorative medal vending machines: silver and gold. You can use this retro machine to print on your medals.
I tried playing the game. I want a prize! LOL I did it! Get a prize. A cute stuffed bear. There are two massage machines in the game corner. 300 yen for 15 minutes. Massage is adjusted using the controller. The health measuring device costs 200 yen once.
There are paid coin lockers near the game corner. There is a fee for each use of the locker. The price is 300 yen for large and 200 yen for medium. Signs and plaques of famous people were displayed on the wall next to the shop.
It seems that a drama was filmed on the ferry before. Oh, this is the autograph of gold medalist Shizuka Arakawa! amazing! There are many signs here too. The words “It’s a wonderful life, a wonderful voyage” written on the sign are great. Breakfast is served at the snack corner.
I ordered two rice balls (salmon, kelp) and a pancake. Each rice ball costs 210 yen, and each pancake costs 400 yen. The total cost was 820 yen. Pancakes come with margarine and maple syrup. I once saw someone eating pancakes while boarding a ship, and I was curious about them.
It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. After breakfast, I came to the information desk. We completed the procedures for temporary disembarkation at Sendai Port. I returned to my room. If you are temporarily landing in Sendai, you must disembark within 20 minutes of the start of disembarkation. Reboarding is available until 7:10pm.
There is a paper inside the ferry with the ferry transit time written on it, so it will be helpful when touring on the deck. Sailing off the coast of Ibaraki Prefecture. The room was on the port side, so I could see a little of the land from the room.
Walk around the ship again. This is a commemorative photo corner. The information board shows the business hours of restaurants, shops, etc. Mobile charger. 100 yen per 20 minutes. Public phone. Wi-fi is available for 24 hours for 1078 yen.Although

Everyone is relaxing and watching TV in the salon on the 6th floor. I went out on deck. Let’s go around in a circle.
The funnel is now visible. There is a bench at the back of the funnel, so you can enjoy the view during the warmer months. When heading from Nagoya to Tomakomai, the starboard side is the best place to watch the sunrise. I walked around the deck. I came to the store.
Souvenirs from Hokkaido are lined up here. There are Taiheiyo Ferry goods around here. Keychains, ballpoint pens, stickers, tote bags, etc. Handkerchiefs, lighthouse ornaments, ship models, etc. Pacific Ferry paper craft. Beverages are also sold. Snack sweets. A large curry is 750 yen, and udon is 550 yen. this curry is tasty! it’s recommended. The udon was also delicious. Thank you for the meal. The restaurant menu for lunch looks like this. I will spend some time relaxing in my room.
The time was around 2:30 p.m. It was time for us to pass each other with our sister ship “Ishikari”. Everyone gathered on the deck to watch the moment they passed each other. Wave your hand towards “Ishikari”.
As you may have noticed by the sound, the wind was so strong that I could barely stand. I was standing there, pointing my camera at the ship. It seems that the wind speed is more than 20m/s. Other customers on the deck are also frantically taking pictures.
This is “Ishikari” photographed from a different angle. I was using a tripod to take pictures to avoid blurring, but it was so windy that I finally got around to it… If you have a high-performance camera, you might be able to take pictures with less blur.
They blow their whistles at each other, but the wind is so strong that neither ship can hear them at all. Anyway, I’m glad we were able to see each other safely. No matter how many times I watch this scene of passing each other, it’s always good. “Ishikari” heading towards Nagoya.
I’m tired from shooting in strong winds, so I’m going to take a break in my room. I’ll be in Sendai soon. It’s almost dusk. A ship passes by under the setting sun. A different ship from earlier passes right in front of me. A lighthouse came into view a little further ahead.
We will pass the lighthouse. Arrived at Sendai Port. It went by so quickly. Berthing work has begun. At first, the ropes were pulled manually, then by cars. The rope was hung on the mooring post. Has the berthing work been completed? We will temporarily disembark at Sendai Port.
We will say goodbye to “Kiso” for a while. “Welcome to Sendai” There is a shop and waiting area on the second floor of the Sendai Port Ferry Terminal. It’s interesting to see the cars entering the ferry. There were people waiting for the route bus at the terminal bus stop.
After walking for about 20 minutes, I arrived at Mitsui Outlet Park. I bought bread for tomorrow’s breakfast at this bakery. There was a small amusement park near the outlet with a merry-go-round going around. nice. I returned to the ferry terminal. There was a model of a ferry on display.
The rear of the ferry model was damaged in the earthquake. This is left on purpose. There are four buses a day bound for Sendai Station. The route bus also passes through Nakano Sakae Station, the closest station to the ferry terminal. There was also a timetable for Nakano Sakae Station.
Here is the bus route map. 6:15 p.m. It’s time to board the ferry. There are quite a few customers. To reboard the ferry, you will need this reboarding permit. When someone says, “Welcome home,” it feels like coming home. A piano performance was being performed on the piano stage on the 6th floor.
I was happy and listened to the performance for a while. Eat dinner at a restaurant buffet. Buy your meal ticket first. The buffet is 2100 yen per adult. The dinner menu looks like this. Place the restaurant “TAHITI” meal ticket stub in the box.
I also keep a card that says “Mealing” to put out on the table during the meal. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating. There were also tables for large groups at the back of the restaurant. A bite of fried horse mackerel. stick chicken. Sweet and spicy fried eggplant. Salt fried noodles.
Roast pork. french fries. Bulgogi. Fried peppers stuffed with meat. Doteni, a Nagoya specialty. Tofu Shumai. Seared bonito carpaccio. Carpaccio’s bonito is innovative. Tofu. I love it so I get a lot of it. salad. I took a lot of broccoli. And I love shrimp tempura rice! Miso soup.
There were also rolls, although I didn’t take them. It was a buffet so I ended up taking a lot. I intended to take it little by little, but it was quite a large amount. 😅The curry I ate during the day might have been more delicious than the Okazaki-style curry.
I brought most of the menu items that I was interested in, such as Doteni and shrimp mashed rice. I think I brought a little too much salt-yakisoba…😅I’ll start with the salad. We eat eggplant, bulgogi, etc. one after another. Tofu and roast pork are delicious. I was curious about the carpaccio…it was surprisingly delicious.
The meat stuffed pepper fries are just as delicious as you can imagine. Stick chicken, crispy. The fried horse mackerel and tofu shumai were also delicious. Doteni has a flavor that goes well with rice. Shrimp tempura rice is my favorite. I got the udon noodles that I was interested in. Okazaki style curry. Warabimochi.
Salted caramel cake, strawberry cake. Choux ice cream, strawberry ice cream. It’s rare to have grapes! I love mangoes so I took a lot of them. I brought dessert, udon noodles, etc. Since I eat a lot of other things at a buffet, this amount of udon is just right.
The vanilla in the ice cream has a gentle sweetness. I’m happy to be able to eat a lot of ice cream. Mango is delicious. You’ll want warabi mochi and tea. I didn’t eat many grapes this year, so I’m glad I got to eat them.
Each cake is bite-sized and can be eaten in small portions. Finally, we finished the meal by drinking coffee. Thank you for the meal. Return the “During Meal” card. It was a very filling and satisfying meal. As the departure from Sendai Port was approaching, I went out to the deck.
At 19:40, we left Sendai Port on time. Tugboats are doing a great job. The show in the lounge has started. By the way, this show is free. It was the same musician as yesterday, but most of the songs played were different. Thank you for your wonderful performance over the past two days!
After the show, I went to the bathroom. By the way, the large observation bath looks like this. There was also a jacuzzi, which was nice. When I came to the lobby on the 6th floor after taking a bath, there was no one there.
There are a lot of chairs lined up by the window, so you can get a good view of the scenery during the day. The table next to the window in the back has a power outlet. Eating and drinking are prohibited in seats where power is provided. This picture looks like a tropical country.
This seat next to the snack corner is great because you can enjoy your meal while looking at the view. The promenade is a relaxing space with large windows overlooking the ocean. There were so many people during the day, but at night there was no one and it was very quiet.
Inside the ship, pictures of birds are drawn on the walls like this. This is a cute picture of a bird. There was an S sleeper room that was empty, so I took a look around. You can secure your privacy by separating the rooms with roll curtains.
The room has a bed, space to put things, hangers, and a TV. I’m going to bed soon. good night. good morning. I woke up just before sunrise, but unfortunately it was cloudy. Approaching Tomakomai West Port. For breakfast, I eat the bread I bought yesterday in my room.
German potato bread. It’s full of potatoes. cinnamon roll. The cinnamon is fragrant and delicious. Bread with chocolate is consistently delicious. There is a pet house on the ferry, so you can feel safe traveling with your pet. I saw a red lighthouse. The cityscape of Tomakomai also came into view. A tugboat is approaching.
“Mitsui O.S.K. Sunflower Daisetsu” is moored right in front of you! Berthing work has begun. A car is pulling a rope and wrapping it around a mooring post. The ship is getting closer and closer to the port. Cars are very useful for this work. The ferry arrived at Tomakomai West Port.
Put your boarding pass and card key in the collection box and disembark. Thank you to the staff for their help. It was a fulfilling voyage that lasted 40 hours. If you like it, please give it a high rating, subscribe to the channel, and comment. Thank you for watching till the end.
