Hello, this is Yuyu Tabi couple. I came to Yokohama in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Since its opening in 1859, Yokohama Port in Yokohama has developed into Japan’s major international port. Western culture and technology were introduced to Japan from Yokohama. Today, Chinatown and the Red Brick Warehouse still remain, giving the city a cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Introducing a sightseeing plan to enjoy Yokohama in one day. Video starts! good morning. Today I am in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. I’m in Yokohama’s Chinatown. I want to go to Chinatown and eat xiaolongbao , so I’m going to spend a day sightseeing in Yokohama. This is the first spot.

Do you know how to read it? I’ve seen this place a few times, but I don’t know what kind of place it is. It is a Chinese-style temple called Yokohama Kanteibyo. This temple seems to have a special way of visiting. let’s go!

This temple was built in 1871 and is dedicated to Guan Yu, a real Chinese military commander. I went inside for the first time. To visit the shrine, first purchase incense sticks for purification. Purchase at the ticket vending machine.

I was given an explanation of how to visit the shrine, but he was speaking too fast to understand. Place the purchased incense sticks into the incense burners numbered 1 to 5 in order. A total of five gods are enshrined here, and each incense burner brings different blessings.

The structure of the building is different from that of Japanese shrines and temples. The decoration is wonderful. After praying for today’s trip at Yokohama Kanteibyo Shrine, we will now go to Yokohama Chinatown for lunch.

Yokohama Chinatown is famous as a place to eat while walking around, but this time I’m not going to eat around, but instead I’m going to go to a restaurant and have a lunch course. Are you going to splurge? After eating the course lunch, I’m thinking of taking a little walk around Chinatown.

We will be posting a separate video summarizing the gourmet food of Yokohama Chinatown, so please take a look there. I want to eat shark fin! I wonder if there’s any shark fin, I didn’t book such an expensive course.

Yokohama Chinatown began with the opening of Yokohama Port in 1859, at the end of the Edo period. Over 500 Chinese restaurants are packed together in an area of 200 square meters, making it the largest Chinatown in Japan.

Many of the shops are staffed by Chinese people, and the entire town has a Chinese atmosphere, allowing you to experience the Chinese atmosphere while being in Japan. The restaurant where we will have lunch today is “Beijing Hotel”, which is located right next to the gate closest to the sea in Chinatown.

It was founded in 1955 and is said to have popularized Peking duck in Japan. The restaurant was selected as one of Tabelog’s 100 Famous Restaurants in 2021. I made a reservation for the lunch-only Aya course. Cheers with an aperitif and frozen oolong tea. delicious. The plum wine is also delicious as an aperitif.

Assortment of three appetizers. The squid on the far left was extremely soft and delicious. Iberico pork with black vinegar is delicious! The black vinegar is delicious. It looks like fried crab claw cheese hatteok. Eat with pepper and salt. The moment you bite into it, the flavor of crab fills your mouth.

It had a lot of crab meat and was very delicious. Xiao long bao and steamed shrimp dumplings. Plenty of meat juice. It’s delicious. I don’t think it’s hot enough to burn me. Gomoku burnt.

If you eat it early, it will be crunchy, but if you wait a little longer, you can enjoy the moist texture. What I like about okoge is that you can enjoy two textures in one dish. It has lots of vegetables and is extremely delicious. Golden steamed chicken soup.

This medicinal soup contains tender chicken. Dessert is almond tofu and sesame dumplings. I’m happy to be able to eat both of the two major Chinese desserts. I love sesame dumplings. All dishes were of high quality and all delicious. I liked the scorch the most.

For me, the sweet and sour pork was the most delicious. The taste was sophisticated. Thanks for the meal! It’s a popular restaurant, so you need to make a reservation to avoid waiting. After lunch, we will take a walk around Chinatown.

After 12 o’clock, it starts to get crowded with quite a lot of people. There are a lot of people. It is larger than Kobe’s Chinatown and has more people. As I was walking through Chinatown, I saw “fortune telling” written all over the place, so I decided to try it out.

This is my first fortune telling in my life. The person in charge was Japanese. Yumi’s palms are dark and clear. Yumi is a person who is able to live her life as herself. He is a person with a very good flow of energy.

Yumi’s standard when it comes to love is a little face. I don’t like handsome men. I agree. Yujiro’s criteria for choosing a lover is absolutely appearance. I love beautiful women. Yujiro is quite erotic. The energy is erotic. The heart line is very long. The length of the heart line represents one’s mental age.

Yujiro’s heart line is the baby heart line. Yujiro’s mental age is eternally 5 years old. It’s being messed with a lot. She’s erotic, and she’s a 5-year-old, so she’s like Crayon Shin-chan. When you find something you like, you get really hooked on it.

I had fun telling my fortune like this from beginning to end. My palm has turned golden. How was your first fortune telling? I was surprised when I was told that I have spiritual powers. It was said that the more you travel, the better your luck will be. Mental age is very low.

I have a miracle line. Yumi had a better impression overall. In other words, you should be confident and live your life in your own way! Fortune-telling is just an assumption! It’s quite fun, so please give it a try. After a short walk from Yokohama Chinatown, I arrived at Yamashita Park.

Yamashita Park is the first waterfront city park in Japan that was opened as part of the reconstruction efforts following the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923. It wasn’t in bloom when I visited, but depending on the time of year, many roses are in full bloom. Flower festivals are held here.

It’s a fountain, you can’t see it. Statue of the guardian of water. Yamashita Park has many things that can be found overseas. You can clearly see that Yokohama has had interactions with various countries. A sightseeing boat called Hikawamaru. This is a high-speed passenger boat that was actually used in the past.

It has also been designated as a national important cultural property. Yokohama Marine Tower can be seen in the background. The tower is 106m high and has an observation deck. I’m going to take a look inside Hikawamaru.

The Hikawa Maru was built in 1930 and is a high-speed passenger ship that was representative of its time when it entered service on the Seattle route across the Pacific. During World War II, it served as a Navy hospital ship. You can tour for 300 yen per adult.

You can see the luxurious cabins of the time, as well as crew areas such as the dining room, wheelhouse, and engine room. First class room. First class special room. Even in modern times, it was used by famous people and members of the imperial family. A dining hall used by first-class passengers.

The menu from that time has been recreated. At the time of its completion, the one-way fare from Yokohama to Seattle was 500 yen in first class. At that time, you could build a house for just 1,000 yen, so voyages were something only rich people could enjoy.

Apparently there was also a game tournament held on the ship. It’s funny to think that wealthy aristocrats were having a bread-eating competition. Apparently the sukiyaki party was an annual event. You can see the engine at the heart of the ship.

I don’t have many opportunities to see places like this, so I’m really excited. It is equipped with a diesel engine that uses the force of the explosion to move the piston up and down. I went outside. You can clearly see the cityscape of Minato Mirai and Sakuragicho.

There are exhibits of items that were used during operation at the time. You were piloting it while looking at this scenery. If you stand in the cockpit, you can feel like a captain. There is a Morse code transmitter. It looks like Laputa.

We’re not the type of people who are really interested in museums or archives, but we could feel the history of Hikawamaru and it was quite worth seeing. The quality is incredible for only 300 yen, so please give it a try. Walk along the coast and aim for the next spot.

There are many ships. I came to Zou-no-hana Park. It’s gradually getting smaller. Why do you think it’s called Zou-no-hana-san Park? I don’t know. Take a close look at this terrain. This landform is called “Zou-no-hana Park” because it resembles the shape of an elephant’s trunk. Wouldn’t a giraffe’s neck be good too?

No, it’s an elephant’s trunk! Go to the big pier. Large foreign passenger ships call at the gateway port of Yokohama Port, which welcomes people from all over the world. The rooftop garden is very open with natural grass and a wooden deck that resembles the deck of a ship.

It is also recommended to see the night view of Yokohama from the main pier. There is a large hall within the facility that can accommodate up to 1,100 people, and various events such as seminars, exhibitions, and concerts are held here. An event was also held on this day.

There are also cafes and shops where you can take a break and shop while looking out at the vast ocean. I returned to Zou-no-hana Park. I’m going to take a little break at a rest area called Zou-no-hana Terrace inside the park.

Zou-no-hana Terrace has an art space and a cafe, where you can enjoy genre-defying art experiences and a variety of services. Purchase snacks and drinks at the attached Zou-no-hana Cafe.

At this take-out cafe, you can enjoy a variety of tea menus and original food made with locally sourced ingredients such as Yokohama ingredients and local beer. Orange bergamot tea has a strong orange flavor. It’s hot and will warm your body, so I highly recommend it. I also bought an apple pie.

There is custard inside along with apples. The crispy dough has an irresistible buttery flavor. You say you like apple pie that uses the natural sweetness of apples, but how about this apple pie? This apple pie is an apple pie that also uses sugar. So it’s turned into a sweet.

I like this too because it’s delicious. It has chunks of apple fruit and is very filling. It’s delicious with custard in it. I came to Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse. This brick building was built during the Meiji and Taisho periods, and is a spot where you can feel the history of Yokohama.

There are restaurants such as a cafe, a general store, and an apparel shop within the building. It is also recommended for people who want to buy Yokohama souvenirs. A Christmas market is held at the Red Brick Warehouse every winter from around the end of November.

We recommend installing the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse official app, as the admission fee will be cheaper. I was enthusiastic about going to the Christmas market, but there were so many people lined up that I couldn’t even see the entrance gate at 4pm .

When I asked the staff earlier, I was told it would be a 3 hour wait. Waiting for 3 hours in this cold weather is tough. This time, let’s give up on entering the Christmas market. I’m going to go to the free illumination garden that was being held nearby.

Illumination Garden is a new area opened in 2022. There are illuminated objects of animals, which are also beautiful. In the distance, you can see a little bit of the Christmas tree at the Christmas market venue. So, I will walk towards Minato Mirai. The pedestrian bridge is cool.

When it gets dark, the area around Minato Mirai takes on a magical atmosphere. The large Ferris wheel at Yokohama Cosmo World is beautiful. The wedding venue downstairs is wonderful. Personally, I am looking for a wedding venue. Please let me know if there is a recommended wedding venue with a view of the ocean.

Do you know what that building looks like over there? It says Notre Dame. A shopping center? The studio of our favorite show. This building is the filming location for The Bachelor. This is where Mr. Imada is recording. The building is “Notre Dame Yokohama” and is a wedding hall.

This is also one of the candidates. That seems expensive. If you walk further towards the station, you will see a sailing ship called Nippon Maru. It has been designated as a national important cultural property, and you can tour the inside of the ship. I came to Yokohama Landmark Tower.

A skyscraper with 70 floors and a height of 296.33m. The fifth floor is a commercial facility, and the floors above are offices and a hotel. Go to the observation floor “Sky Garden” on the 69th floor of Landmark Tower and enjoy the night view of Yokohama. The 273m observatory is quite high.

In fact, it was the tallest building in Osaka until Abeno Harukas was built. Admission fee is 1000 yen for adults. The elevator that ascends the tower has the highest speed in Japan (750m/min). You can enjoy a 360 degree panoramic view of the Yokohama cityscape.

You can also see Yamashita Park and the large pier that we visited today. It seems that you can even see Mt. Fuji on a clear day. Sky Garden has a take-out cafe attached to it, where you can enjoy the night view while enjoying the view.

There are plenty of seats, so you can enjoy light meals while admiring the night view. I bought a deep blue ramune flavored soft serve ice cream. It’s very creamy. It’s more like a ramune flavor than a ramune flavor. You won’t be able to stop this taste. delicious.

It’s warm here, so the soft serve ice cream is delicious. You can spend a long time here looking at the night view. I arrived at Sakuragicho Station. From Yokohama Chinatown, I took a walk around Minato Mirai and ended up visiting Yokohama Landmark Tower.

There was an incident where I couldn’t go to the Christmas market on the way, but if you want to go, be prepared to wait in line. I think this video was helpful for those who are going to Yokohama for the first time. So, it was a 1-day Yokohama sightseeing plan. bye bye!
