This was a great project to do during the cold and rainy days in the early spring in the pacific northwest. I laid these feathers out on a foam core board covered with some black velvet cloth. Instead of moving the tripod all around to find a pleasing composition, I moved the board. I used only the natural light coming in from a large kitchen window and made sure to keep the overhead lights off so as not to add too much warmth to the image.”
