
Photo by #CanonExplorerOfLight @atibaphoto: “When I see a dark or colorful cloudy background, I automatically think to use flash on my subject to stop down the ambient and get a really rich photo. But then there is the other more dynamic way to shoot a cloudy rich background, and that is the silhouette.
To do this, I exposed for the background, not the subject, at 1/2000 to freeze the subject. My aperture was F9. I wanted a long depth of field so both my subject and the clouds were sharp. It was great to work with @hamilt0njr. His dunking ability was amazing. I used the Canon EOS R5 with 20 frames per second to get the perfect frame. I also used the RF28-70mm F2 L USM and I love this lens because it lets me get the perfect angle, and the autofocus tracking is so fast.”
