@peter_hurley’s journey to becoming a #CanonExplorerOfLight: “I’ve had many twists and turns on my path to becoming a Canon Explorer of Light. For me, it’s always been about people and the human face. How do I make each individual look interesting and what can I do to create a special image for them that has meaning?
So when I went to see Kenny Aronoff at his recording studio, that was the only plan I had in mind. What Kenny has done over his decades-long career has been mind-blowing and as a teen, I was a huge fan of one of his famous drum solos. So to have this legend in front of my Canon EOS R5 was ridiculously cool! The thing I value most as a portrait photographer is the doors that have opened and the interesting people I get to capture. After shooting Kenny playing a bit, we went into another room where he had a few of his platinum and gold records on the walls and I snapped this beauty using only the ambient light that was in the room.”
