As we drove through the dark windy roads to the mountain top we encountered increasingly heavy fog, at times slowing our ascent to a crawl. As always, questions begin to race through my mind…would the light, wind, fog, cloud cover, etc. be in our favor or would it be another fruitless drive to the top to find the conditions unfavorable? We arrived at our location under the cover of darkness greeted by howling wind, cold temps, and rolling fog. As night started to loosen its grip we could see the mountain valleys below us filled with cloud cover. Rolling fog billowing down the mountain slopes gave me goosebumps. As the sun began to rise and backlight the fog I knew this was going to be something special!”
