Down jackets are an everyday essential in autumn and winter. To make your down jacket last for years to come, you don’t need to do maintenance every day—but you should follow these tips according to the situation.

1. After wearing your down jacket all winter, it might look a bit flat. Make sure to dry your jacket in the shade to remove moisture such as sweat before putting it away. Also, avoid wearing it multiple days in a row.
2. See a feather sticking out? No worries! Instead of plucking the feather from the outside, which creates holes, try pulling the feather back into the jacket from the inside.
3. If your jacket gets rain on it, wipe it off with a towel before letting it dry naturally in the shade. Feel free to give it a wash if you’re still concerned about it looking dirty.
