Photo by #CanonExplorerOfLight @darrellgulin: “The Oregon coastline is one of my favorite destinations for photography and to just get away. The ideal time to visit Cannon Beach is when you have a low tide and close to sunset. This gives you the opportunity to get the Haystack Rock in the reflection in the wet sand and hopefully some interesting ripples in the sand.

This image was taken in the warm glow just before sunset and with the low angle of the sun, it really made the foreground ripples in the sand pop. Using a wide-angle lens and focusing a third of the way into the frame gave me this sharp and in-focus image from front to back. Make sure you also use a tripod for stability, allowing you to fine-tune your composition.”
