When I was commissioned to make the image, the goal was to demonstrate intelligence and confidence. This is a stretch from my typical style, but I knew that I wanted to step out and create something fresh for the publication.
My team and I used two lights with gels to separate her from the background. The key light is a beauty dish with a blue gel, and we lit the background with a red gel connected to a 7” silver reflector. We decided on the Canon EOS R5 and EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens to give some depth and play around with how we composed the image. I love how it came out and so did the team!”
