After countless hours of research and asking my photography colleagues which camera to choose, I purchased my first Canon camera. During this time, I first practiced my craft by shooting landscapes and old objects to working with professional models. Afterward, I decided to quit my job in 2010 and go full-time as a professional photographer in beauty and fashion. This turning point allowed me to pursue my dream while creating a space for personal freedom.
My growth over the years led me to opportunities in working with amazing clients, advertising agencies, being represented, and developing relationships with like-minded creatives. The pursuit of the ‘dream’ is what makes me get out of bed and create every day while being my authentic self.
Being a part of the Canon Explorer of Light program has been a long-awaited dream for me. I am honored to be a part of this community of talented photographers.
This picture was a passion project. I wanted a modern 1920s themed photo shoot but with a moody ambiance in a lounge area.
I shot, styled the hair and wardrobe on this shoot along with one of my favorite make-up artists. I used only one beauty dish without a socket above her head at a 45-degree angle. I wanted to achieve a blurred background with bokeh, so I shot the subject very close while having a relatively good distance from the mirror balls hanging at the bar to accomplish this look.”
